Tomato Soup Bait?

Big Top was talking about the fishing tournament coming up on Sunday, and he said he wasn’t going to lose to me because he has charm…and tomato soup.

Big Top: Fine! But I am NOT gonna lose to you! You might have opposable thumbs,
Big Top: but I've got charm to woo the fish with! And lots of tomato soup!

I’ve never heard of using tomato soup as fish bait, but who am I to doubt an elephant holding a fishing rod? 😛

I ran into Margie, and she told me that gardening was her favorite thing right now. When I walked by her house, I knew she was serious. She had about 15 flowers surrounding her house.

A bunch of flowers surrounding Margie's house.

I don’t know why she didn’t do this for the Flower Fest two weeks ago. She probably would have won, since nobody had that many flowers at the time!

I went down to the Roost to check out K.K. Slider’s musical performance for the first time in months. However, I accidentally selected the option to request a song, and there was no way to back out of it. So I just tried to come up with something silly.

K.K.: This is far out. Get ready to groove to my son!

He ended up playing the song that later became known as Stale Cupcakes.

K.K.: The thing is, my son's not on my set list, man.

I found all three of today’s fossils, so I didn’t mind at all when my favorite villager Goldie asked me for one. I gave her some amber, and she really seemed to enjoy it.

Goldie: Wait... You went out and dug this up just for me? That's amazing!
You’re a good dog, you deserve it!

She gave me a regal carpet in return. But the real reward was just seeing her so happy. 🙂

Goldie: This has been a great day! What a cool friend you are! Thanks, woof!

I recently posted a video taking a look at exclusive favors/requests in each Animal Crossing game. That includes the one in Wild World where villagers ask to have a contest to see who can catch a fish or bug first. If you haven’t seen it yet, here it is:

Have a great day, and I’ll see you all next week!

Must-Flea TV

Benedict was telling me about a new TV show about catching bugs tonight. He said it’s about a flea that got out of its cage and makes its way back home.

Benedict: A flea that got out of its cage makes its way back home!
Back home where? To a dog or something?

But the flea missed its feedings and returned to the cage?

Benedict: But it missed its regular feedings and ran back to its cage, buhk buhk!
Sounds like must-flea TV!

Nookington’s had a spotlight product today, but it was just a jukebox. Sorry if my disappointment at the spotlight item each time is starting to feel like a broken record. 😛

Margie was all packed up and ready to move out of town, but I wasn’t about to let that happen. Four solid minutes of telling her not to go eventually paid off, and she agreed to stay. 😛

The results of last week’s Flower Fest were posted to the bulletin board, and Mathilda was the big winner! She is this year’s Green Thumb! Congrats, Mathilda! 👍

**Final Results** May the green laurels of Flower Fest victory rest upon the roof of Mathilda's garden!!

But that wasn’t the only interesting new post on the bulletin board. The latest Message of the Week gave a questionable money-saving tip: Eat rotten turnips.

*Message of the Week* Trying to save money? Eat your rotten turnips!
Um, no thanks.

Rolf told me that Mathilda and Bunnie seem like the best of friends, but he implied that deep down, they don’t really like each other. But then he admitted he was just making up rumors to entertain himself.

Rolf: Seriously, making up rumors is, like, pure Grade A entertainment! It's so fun!

Even though it’s Saturday night, I actually forgot to check out K.K. Slider’s show. Oops.

Flower Fest 2021

When I first spoke with Antonio tonight, he confused me by starting the conversation by saying “What?! Shamrocks don’t count?!”

Antonio: What?! Shamrocks don't count?!
They can only count up to 3. Or 4, if they’re lucky.

After I shot him a puzzled look, it finally dawned on me that he was talking about the Flower Fest, which is underway this week. It’s the competition where villagers decorate their yards with flowers.

Tortimer judges whose garden has the best flower display on Sunday night, and the winner will be given the title of Green Thumb. I won the event two years ago, but I’m not interested in participating again. It’s too much work and not worth the effort. Not to mention, I’d be risking losing my many hybrid flowers if I didn’t water them daily.

I found Tortimer standing outside of town hall, complaining about how he was standing outside all day. 😛

Tortimer: I'm not a spring turtle anymore, you see...

I took a look at everyone’s gardens, to try to guess who would win. Mathilda and Goldie each had seven flowers by their houses, but Rolf seemed to have the most, with eight…even though I’m not sure if his flowers were close enough to his house to count.

Eight flowers around Rolf's house.

I guess I’ll find out next week who won!

Bunnie was still sick, so I bought some more medicine for her.

Bunnie: Gluuuggg... Ahhhhhh... Thank you, J-puff!

Antonio showed me a weird letter he received, from someone that offered him 10,000 bells if he could guess what they were thinking. But the letter automatically assumes that he’s wrong anyway, so there’s no real way to win. 😛

Try your luck! I'll give you 10,000 bells if you can guess what I'm thinking. Nope, it's not that. Better luck next time!

Have a good weekend, everyone! See you next time.
