Whale of a Tale

Thursday, I shot down Gulliver’s UFO. It was my 40th UFO shot down in Wild World!

An unidentified object has crashed in our town!

When I spoke with Filbert, he told me that my face reminds him of some frothy chamomile tea. Never stop being weird, Filbert.

Filbert: ...You know, your face kinda reminds me of that sweet, frothy chamomile tea...

Once I gathered up the five missing UFO parts for Gulliver, I took them back to him. He rewarded me with some chocolates. It was my third time getting chocolates from him, so I didn’t really need them. But I guess it is kinda fitting to get chocolates during Christmas week, so thanks, Gulliver! (Just give me the tribal mask next time!)

Yesterday, I saw a large fish shadow in the ocean. I got my fishing rod out and caught myself a big tuna.

I caught a tuna! And I'm not talking canned!

Truffles told me that Tom Nook saves bells like I wouldn’t believe; she said he’s neurotic! I don’t think that’s the right word, though. Maybe he’s frugal or greedy, sure.

Truffles: Boy, that Tom Nook... He saves bells like you WOULD NOT BELIEVE! He's neurotic!

Well, Truffles, let me explain it in a way that you might relate to. Maybe he’s just a pig with money, and he hogs all the bells for himself. He brings home the bacon and keeps it there! Oh, and you should see his pork-folio! (He even owns a bunch of Ham-azon stock.) 🐖

Tonight, Drift said that seeing people jogging on sandy beaches reminds him of the days when he used to bench-press killer whales!

Drift: Man, it takes me back! I used to bench-press killer whales, rrrrribbit!

Yeah, right! That’s a whale of a tale. He’s drifting far from the truth; that’s probably the least believable thing he’s ever said.

I later listened in on a conversation between my squirrels, Filbert and Caroline. It started out with Filbert asking Caroline if she liked him.

Caroline: Of course! I like you. We are friends, after all, on my Wii.

But then it got weird. Caroline called him unambitious, Filbert claimed he made a cape to become Fashion Lad, Caroline swore to defend scrunchies to the death, Caroline challenged him to a fight, and Filbert said Caroline is pretty enough to get away with wearing any sort of atrocious fashion. It was wild. 😆

Filbert: Huh?! Well, you're so pretty, it doesn't matter what atrocious thing you wear.

At the Roost, I asked K.K. Slider to play a song for me. He performed K.K. Dixie, which isn’t one of my favorites, but it was alright.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Dixie!

If you’re looking for a video to watch, even though it’s not Wild World, I posted a new City Folk Moments video today. Check it out, and have a good weekend and New Year! See you next time!

Lazy Sad Snow

On Wednesday, Drift was talking about the snow being lazy and loafing around.

Drift: Snow is so lazy! It's disgusting! Look at it, loafin' around like that!

Then he said it reminds him of me! How rude!

Drift: Kinda reminds me of you, rrrrribbit!

Caroline then told me to watch out for girls who have a lot of flowers in their gardens!

Caroline: You know, if you meet a girl with lots of flowers in her garden...

She warned me never to trust a green thumb! 😆

Caroline: You'd better watch out for her! She's up to no good! Never trust a green thumb!

Today, Filbert told me that he was pretty indifferent towards Bones and Curt. But then when I (immediately) spoke to him again, he suddenly had an urgent delivery for Curt!

Filbert: Well, I have an urgent delivery for Curt...

Why would he be sending a gift to Curt (let alone an “urgent” one) when he feels indifferent towards him? 😛 But I took the gift (a five-ball shirt) over to Curt, and he was impressed by it. Filbert then rewarded me with 510 bells.

Truffles said that seeing all the snow around makes her sad…

Truffles: Y'know, when I see all this snow lying around, it makes me, like, kinda sad...

But not for a reason I’d expect. She’s sad because she thinks it’s going to be gone in a few days! Ha!

Truffles: Why? Because it's gonna be GONE in a few days!!
You sweet summer child. We still have over two months of it to go.

Over at town hall, I found an arctic camo (shirt) in the recycle bin. I also put some money into my savings account, and my balance reached 14 million bells.

Pelly: The current bell balance is 14,000,000.

Moon from the Stars

Snow now covers the ground in Wild World (and the other Animal Crossing games as well). It’s a pretty time of year, although I know we’ll all be sick of the snow in a month or so. 😆

On Wednesday, Truffles interrupted me as I was hitting the money rock. She prevented me from getting the full payout!

Truffles: So you wanna chat with me some more, right? Yeah, I like chatting with me, too!
You just cost me a few thousand bells!

Caroline told me that she’s (finally) over her cold, and she thanked me for the medicine by giving me a concrete wall. This will surely help us cement our friendship. 😛

After I came out of Whitney’s house, a shooting star flew overhead! Fortunately, I was able to wish on it before it zoomed out of sight.

A shooting star flies by overhead.

The next day, I received a letter from Wishy in the mail. He sent me the moon! That’s a pretty big gift! I wonder how much he had to pay for shipping…the cost must’ve been astronomical! In fact, I’m sure it eclipses any shipping cost I’ve ever observed! 🌚

Tank was talking about pouring some miso soup over pear salad, and he asked what I thought of that. A slider popped up with the two extreme options being “So good!” and “Awful!” I moved it just a tiny bit below the midpoint, and Tank became furious at me.

Tank: Oh, c'mon! Come down off your snobby horse and try something unique!
Sorry, I’m not feeling soup-er adventurous today.

Filbert asked me for a fossil, so I gave him a fern fossil that I dug up. He was happy with it, and he rewarded me with a plaza wall.

Today, Mom sent me a letter about drinking cocoa around the holidays. She also sent me an apple, which is a foreign fruit. But it’s also a fruit I already had, so it wasn’t super useful. But still, it is nice to be able to get foreign fruit this way.

Drift jokingly wondered if Curt and Filbert could be brothers. Yeah, I don’t think so. 😛

Drift: Wouldn't it be funny if Curt and Filbert turned out to be brothers?
Come on, they bearly look related.

When I visited Filbert, he was still talking about the fossil I gave him yesterday. He said he was so excited that he couldn’t help but dance!

Filbert: I'm so excited that I can't help but dance! Shake it! Woot!

See, now this is the true reward that makes favors worthwhile, not the crummy wallpapers they give. 😆

Bones told me he’d love it if it would snow year-round! I strongly disagree with him about that.

Bones: It sure would be fun if it snowed all year long, for a bite!
For a bite? Yeah, frostbite maybe.

Have a great weekend, everyone! I’ll be back again next week.
