Yesterday, I ran into Whitney while walking around town. She made it sound like talking to me was an annoying obligation.
Maybe having a snooty as my favorite villager in town isn’t going to work out. At least not for long.
I found a new house in the northeast part of town, where Octavian lived last year. Inside, I found Robin the…robin.
Welcome to Forest, Robin.
She’s fairly nice, but I do currently have her in my City Folk town already. So I have two Robins, but no Batman.
There was a new “Talking to Myself” post on the bulletin board, and it was about a hedgehog movie! Now I haven’t seen the Sonic the Hedgehog movies, so I don’t know how accurate this is.
Today, Filbert asked me what I thought was up with Curt and Truffles. Since I don’t care for either of them, why not spread some rumors?
I told him there was lots of smooching going on between them, and Filbert said it was so gross that it makes him want to barf!
He said the only thing that he lets touch his lips is a cup of milk tea.
There’s a squirrel joke in here somewhere, but I’m not going to touch it.
Curt wanted to have a competition to see who could catch a sea bass first, but I declined. Maybe another time. At least a sea bass shouldn’t be too hard to catch, unlike a lot of things villagers will ask for.
Before wrapping up my game for the afternoon, I found a regal sofa in the recycle bin at town hall.
When I played on Wednesday, I got some bad news in the mail. Bones has moved out of town, without warning!
Bones was my favorite villager in town, and he has lived here for nearly three years. It’s very disappointing to lose him. The only bright side is that I still have him in New Horizons.
But something else came to mind. Last week, I posted a video ranking my favorite villagers in all of my Animal Crossing towns. I had previously posted three such videos before, in 2019, 2021, and 2023. After two of those videos (2019 and 2021), my favorite Wild World villager moved out just days afterwards. So I thought it was weird that it happened again.
Are these videos a curse to my Wild World towns somehow? Nah, I know it’s just a coincidence (or a series of coincidences), but it’s still unfortunate. And to be fair, nothing of the sort happened after my 2023 video.
Anyway, I also had a letter with my latest HRA score in the mail. The addition of Drift’s pic boosted my house score up to 293,700 points.
Filbert told me he was looking for fossils, but not for the money. He said he was doing it so that Blathers would like him more!
Yesterday, Curt was telling me about the fishing tournament that’s coming up on Sunday. He said I always seem to win competitions, and he accused me of cheating! Wow. Never mind the fact that I haven’t even won a tournament since 2021!
I want to hurt Curt.
I was too lazy to go looking for a pitfall, but I did the next best thing: I hit him a few times with my net.
If you come out swinging, so will I.
I can’t believe I didn’t rank Curt dead last in my town. If I were to re-rank them right now, Curt would be on the bottom, not Truffles. And Whitney would be my new #1, now that Bones is gone.
I played again tonight, and not much was going on in town. So I gathered up a few loads of fruit and sold it at Nookington’s. I was able to boost my savings balance up to a nice, round, satisfying total of exactly 15 million bells.
I’ll be back again next week to see who replaces Bones. Have a great weekend!
Yesterday, I received my monthly bank statement in the mail from the postal division at town hall. I earned 73,900 bells in interest this month.
When I spoke with Curt, he told me that Tortimer has been wanting a massage machine lately!
Tortimer the mayor, as opposed to the other people named Tortimer around here?
Even though this may seem like an odd bit of dialogue, I knew what it was referring to. It’s a hint that relates to the golden axe trading sequence. After you give a red turnip to Wendell, he may give you a turban. When you give that to Saharah, she may give you a massage chair. That needs to be given to Tortimer, and that’s what this hint was all about. But these hints seem to be so rare that it’s hard to imagine anyone completing the trading sequence without any outside/advance knowledge of it.
There was a new “Talking to Myself” post on the message board about…talking to yourself!
The title of the post checks out.
Today, Curt said I was hyper like a dog wanting to take his morning walk! How rude!
Maybe I should’ve ranked him as my least-favorite villager in town. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, I recently ranked my villagers in all eight of my Animal Crossing towns (across five games). Here is the video if you’re interested:
Whitney has been sick with a cold, so I gave her some medicine yesterday and then again today. Get well soon, wolf girl!
Drift wanted to compete to see who could catch a common butterfly first. Since this bug was actually in-season (unlike the dung beetle he wanted last week), I accepted the challenge. However, the butterfly didn’t prove to be very common after all. It took me 15 minutes to find one!
I made my way back over to Drift, and he pinged me. I was just hoping he wasn’t going to ask me for the butterfly (which wouldn’t even count towards the competition). But he did something much better: He gave me his photo!
Thank you, Drift!
Drift has lived in Forest since September, so it’s taken me nearly six months to earn his picture. Even with all the bugs I’ve caught for him. One other bit of trivia: The last photo I got was from Filbert, back in August! So it’s been a while since I’ve got a new photo!
Anyway, I spoke to Drift again to give him the butterfly. He thanked me for it, and he rewarded me with some wood paneling.
I then went home to take a look at Drift’s picture. My house is still a mess, but you can see it on the left side of the floor in this screenshot:
His favorite quote is on the back, “Always go for the gold!” That was actually pretty fitting, considering I was standing next to all my gold trophies at the time.
Have a great weekend, and I’ll be back with more next week. Never Stop Crossing!
