My jaw dropped when I checked my mail tonight. Kiki, my favorite villager in town, was gone. She sent me this goodbye letter.
When I play once a week, as I have been, it’s rare for anyone to leave without warning like this. They’ll often be a villager in boxes ready to move out, sure. I don’t always mention that in the blog if I’m making them stay. But for someone to already be gone by the time I play, well that doesn’t happen very often.
Maybe I can blame Halloween for the black cat taking off. Just kidding about that, but it is really sad to see her go. Not only was she my favorite villager in town, but she had been here for over three years. In fact, my town was only a week old when she moved in!
Anyway, Tom Nook was asking me about the way he dresses at Nookington’s tonight. He wasn’t sure if he commands enough respect with what he was wearing.
Teddy asked me to deliver a letter to Rosie, and I agreed to help out. Rosie enjoyed the letter, and then told me to say hi to Teddy for her…even though Teddy was standing right next to me.
But as soon as I got done speaking with her, she saw Teddy and immediately accused him of stalking her!
When I ran into Benedict, he asked what his best side was. I chose “right,” and his response was nearly as shocking as Kiki’s goodbye letter. He asked if I wanted him to kiss me! WHAT THE HECK, BENEDICT?
What a weird night it was in Forest. It almost feels like a dream. Wait, is it a dream? Am I writing this blog entry in my sleep? I’ll let you know when I wake up. 😉
I love Kiki! So sad she’s gone.
Yeah, and right after I was commenting about how much I like all my ACWW residents. I’m almost afraid to see who takes her place.
This is something I hope New Horizons does away with completely- neighbors suddenly disappearing.
In New Leaf (at least after the Welcome Amiibo update), they give a ten day window to stop them if they decide to move out. So if you play even semi-regularly, it’s hard to lose one of your favorites. I imagine New Horizons will likely be similar to that, but I guess we’ll see.
Firstly, I think your videos are AWESOME! I had that same problem too! My favorite villagers (Filbert and Ruby) in my City Folk town moved out in less than a week apart. I used to talk to them everyday. Anyway, I am trying to join my Wild World town.

Aww, I’m sorry Kiki moved…the same thing happened to me with Mitzi a few years ago. I’d been trying to get her photo, then she just up and left with that exact same goodbye letter on the one day I couldn’t check in.
Mitzi ended up moving into a few of my other towns though, so I hope you can see Kiki again!

What a bummer! This sort of thing happened to me with Bob in Wild World too. I had played on Wednesday and on Friday he left with no warning, no boxes, just a letter when he left. My sincere condolences for the loss of one of your favorite villagers.
Thank you. Sorry you lost Bob the same way. It seemed like Wild World made it easier to keep villagers you like, but sometimes, something like this happens out of the blue.
