The Way of the Owl

Octavian was still sick yesterday, so I gave him some more medicine. But by today, he was feeling better. He thanked me by giving me a parquet floor.

Octavian: Thanks for watchin' my back when I was down.

Last week, I mentioned that Whitney’s house looks really nice. I’m not the only one who thinks so, because she told me that the Happy Room Academy gave her 5,071 points.

Whitney: The result? 5,071 points! Not bad, huh? In fact, it's pretty great!

That might not sound high compared to player houses (which are bigger and have multiple rooms), but that’s really high for a villager! Usually when they say their house score, it’s a 3-digit score.

When I visited Drift today, he asked if I thought his house was nice. The two options were “Yeah!” and “I’ve seen better.” Since I saw the same dialogue recently and answered “yeah,” I decided to pick the other option today, just to see how he reacted. And he didn’t disappoint. 😆

Drift: Whoa, champ! Better check yourself before I wreck you, rrrrribbit!
Don’t wreck me, frog boy. I’m just messing with you. 😆

I found a note in a bottle on the beach, and it was a bit of a downer.

Listen up! If you're reading this, it's probably too late for me! Take care of things for me, would you? Farewell.

Saharah was in town, and she asked me to make some deliveries for her. The first one was a carpet for Blathers, who I had to wake up. Being sleepy in daytime is “the way of the owl,” he said. 🦉

Blathers: I can't help but be sleepy during the day, I'm afraid. 'Tis the way of the owl!

Next, I took a carpet for Phyllis over to town hall (and gave it to Pelly). Saharah then rewarded me with a shoji screen.

Saharah: Do you want a shoji screen or a lunar surface?

When I visited Caroline, she told me she would like some pink furniture. As I was walking out her door, I realized that I actually had a piece of pink lovely furniture in my pockets already! So I went right back in and gave her the lovely dresser.

Caroline: How in the world did you know I was into collecting pink furniture?
You literally just asked me for it.

She rewarded me with a round carpet. I left and re-entered her house again, just to see if she put the dresser on display; she did.

Me, looking into Caroline's dresser: Wow! Is it THAT hard to clean up a little before having guests over?
How could it be that messy already???

Have a great day (or night), and I’ll see you next time! Never Stop Crossing!

Update: I just wanted to add that I’m now on Bluesky! Follow me there if you’d like!
