Sneaky Submarines

On Wednesday, Whitney told me there are a lot of people in town, but she still hasn’t met “the ONE.”

Whitney: Even though there are so many people in this town, I still haven't met the ONE...

Does she mean it figuratively, meaning like…her soulmate? Or does she mean it literally, about not having met Villager (my 2nd character that I almost never play as)? Whichever way she meant it, it made her start crying.

Whitney: Eeeek! OK, Whitney, don't cry! It'll mess up your mascara! Snappy!

Then again, not meeting Villager is no reason to cry. So she must’ve meant it in the soulmate sense. But the odd thing about that is that just a couple minutes later, Curt told me that he saw Whitney and Bones sharing a cup of cola with two straws, in the Roost!

Curt: They were sharing the same cup of cola with two straws!

He concluded that it was nauseating. 😆

Curt: It was so nauseating!

Pascal was down by the shore, talking about how he hates submarines.

Pascal: One thing I can't stand is submarines, maaannn.
That’s deep.

He says they’re always sneaking up on people. Yeah, I can see how that would be annoying to someone who spends so much time in the water.

Pascal: They're always sneaking up on people.

Pascal gave me a ship deck (flooring) before diving into the sea.

Yesterday, Tank suggested that he and I should get matching leotards and walk around town together! Um, I think I’ll pass on that idea. (And now it’s my nausea.) 😆

Tank: (We should) get matching leotards and walk around town together!

Today, I shot down Gulliver’s UFO for the 38th time. I then gathered up his UFO parts for him.

Gulliver: Thank you, my huge-headed friend. I owe you my life!

In return, he gave me yet another Moai statue. It’s the 5th one he has given me so far. 🗿 I’ve had enough, I can’t take no Moai! 😛

At Able Sisters, I bought this motocross helmet for 1,400 bells. It was more appealing than the other items up for sale.

Mabel: Wow! You are looking really, really good!
Instead of rolling the dice or rolling my eyes, I’ll be rolling on the motocross course. 😛

Two of my villagers asked for new catchphrases tonight. I told Bones to say “for a bite,” and I told Caroline to say “on my Wii.” We’ll see if they pay off in the future.

Yay Day is coming up on Sunday, and Caroline was already looking forward to it. She even said she’s going to drown every person in town…

Caroline: I'm going to drown each and every person in town...

…in flattery. That was a violent way to say that. 😛

Today, I posted my latest Wild World video episode, #71. It features highlights from the past month or so in town, with some additional puns that weren’t in the blog. Please check it out!

I’ll see you all next week! Have a great weekend!

Arguing Over Hiccups

On Wednesday, I was disappointed to find a goodbye letter from Octavian in the mail. He squid-daddled without giving me a chance to say goodbye.

Bye, Jeff, Due to circumstances out of my control, I had to move. Yeah, I know. Lame. Now STOP CRYING! Geez! Bye, chump. -Octavian
Goodbye, but I’m sure I’ll sea you again someday.

By yesterday, his replacement had already moved in! It’s Curt the cranky bear, or “Curt the hot-blooded,” as he called himself. I’ve never really cared for Curt.

Curt: I'm Curt the Hot-Blooded.

Today, Whitney was surprised by how late it was (as if 6 p.m. is late), and her jaw dropped. She held this pose for several seconds (until I hit the button), which looked pretty funny. 😆

Whitney, dropping her jaw: Oh, jeez! How'd it get to be 6 o'clock already?

She asked me to deliver a letter to Curt, but then she said never mind (because I didn’t have space for another letter). So I cleaned out some letter space and talked to her again. She again asked me to deliver a letter…but this time it was to Drift, not Curt! So I took the letter over, and Drift let me see it. Whitney actually signed it as “Princess Whitney!” 😆

Oh no, Drift! I write this during one of my walks. It's hard! I eat paella 'cause it has collagen. -Princess Whitney

When I returned to Whitney, she rewarded me with a stone wall.

Saharah was in town today, and I helped her out with two deliveries. I took some carpet packages to Pelly and Blathers. Saharah offered me a music room wall or a music room floor; I took the former.

Curt had all his furniture unpacked today, so I got to take a look at his house. He was watching a game on TV.

The inside of Curt's house.

Outside, I listened in on a conversation between Caroline and Drift. They were arguing about hiccups, of all things!

Caroline: I always get nervous, and then I start to hiccup and I just can't stop!

Caroline hates them, and Drift loves them of course. This is just classic WW/CF era wackiness at its best.

Drift: Whoa! Why would you want to get rid of the hiccups, Caroline?

At Nookington’s, Tom Nook had some special dialogue for me. Even though I’ve seen multiple parts of this story before (so I haven’t mentioned the repeat parts), I don’t think I’ve seen the part I saw today. Tom Nook said that he has given up his dream of opening a select shop in the city. Apparently Sable talked him out of it.

Tom Nook: I was very fortunate to have level-headed Sable there to set me straight...

He values her friendship, but he admitted that her wisdom frustrates him.

Tom Nook: We've been friends for a long time, but her wisdom occasionally frustrates me.

Anyway, Filbert has been sick with a cold lately. So I gave him some medicine yesterday, and then again today.

Have a great weekend, everyone! I’ll see you next time.

Mumble Mumble Mumble

On Wednesday, Octavian assumed that I thought he wants to do nothing but collect seashells. That…hadn’t crossed my mind a single time, but okay, sure.

Octavian: Hey, hon. I bet you think all I wanna do is collect shells.

He said he likes to collect shells, but he insisted that he’s an octopus first and foremost. Octopi can collect and use shells too, so I’m not sure I get his point.

Octavian: But first and foremost, I'm an octopus!

On Thursday, Mom sent an amusing letter about Dad falling out of a tree. 😛

Dear Jeff, Your dad fell out of a tree today. He was shaking the fruit out when bees flew out. I laughed and laughed! -Mom

Pascal was standing by the shore, and he told me it’s really mean to call something fishy. 🐟

Pascal: When you think about it, calling something fishy is really mean, maaannn.
Even if it’s a mermaid?

He handed me an anchor and then dived into the ocean.

Truffles asked me if she looked “crazy cute” in her outfit. I moved the slider towards “Not so much…” and she got mad at me for mumbling.

Truffles: It's always mumble mumble mumble with you.
I’m Not Mumble-ina!

I guess I should have moved the slider all the way to “Not so much” for a clearer response. 😆

Today is La-Di-Day, the day that villagers can sing a song that you can choose as the new town tune. I didn’t ask anyone to sing for me though, because I’m still fairly happy with my current town tune. But villagers still talk about the event, including Filbert.

Filbert: Singing is SOOO fun! Well, not as fun as eating a snack, but what is?

I went down to the Roost to check out the Saturday night show. I asked for a random song, and K.K. Slider performed “Neopolitan” for me.

K.K. All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: Neapolitan!

Have a good night, everyone! I’ll be back again next week. Never Stop Crossing!
