Curious About Confusion

On Wednesday, I shot down Gulliver’s UFO. He didn’t remember if we’ve ever met before. It’s not like it’s our 27th meeting or anything. 😉

Gulliver: However, I certainly don't mean to brag, but I am astoundingly forgetful.

I recovered the five missing parts of his ship for him, and in return, he gave me a Tower of Pisa. Unfortunately, that’s the 4th time he’s given me that particular reward. I guess he just forgot that too. 😛 But I’m leaning towards forgiving him.

Today, Mitzi told me she forgot to mail her reply to a letter she received from Dotty. So she asked me to deliver her response within an hour.

Mitzi: What should I do? I have to get this delivered, and fast...mew.

That was no problem at all, particularly because we were standing right next to Dotty’s house. 😛 Dotty actually gave me a peek at the letter.

Hello, Dotty, Dotty, reading your letter was culture shock! I'm starving ALL THE TIME! I want shark fin soup. I'm shy. Mitzi

That was random. And Mitzi wrote “Dotty” twice in a row. 😆 However, Dotty still seemed to appreciate the letter. When I returned to Mitzi, she gave me 510 bells for helping out.

Dr. Shrunk was in town, and I asked him to teach me “confusion.” That’s the question mark emotion, which was renamed “curiosity” in later games. Why? I don’t know; don’t question it. 😉

Shrunk: Wait, what did you say? What don't they understand? Where are they?

Have a good weekend, and I’ll be back again with more next week! Never Stop Crossing!

100 Acorns

The Acorn Festival is underway this week, and I played today to check out the event. As expected, there are acorns everywhere, underneath many of the regular trees in town.

Acorns on the ground during the Acorn Festival in Animal Crossing: Wild World (ACWW).

The mysterious Cornimer was standing outside of town hall, and I started gathering acorns to give to him. He also gave me my acorn fortune for the year:

Your secret fortune: Medium Acorn. Life: Yes... I think. Hopes: Is it real? Karma: You're on track. Look behind you!

My villagers were also talking about the event nonstop. Wolfgang told me to unleash my mad acorn lust. I didn’t know there was such a thing.

Wolfgang: Unleash your mad acorn lust, you wild beast, you!

Wolfgang later suggested we could eat the acorns on some hot buttery bread. I think I’ll pass on that. Or maybe I could just eat the bread, and skip the acorns?

Wolfgang: Maybe we can eat 'em on bread? Y'know...hot, buttery bread?

Fortunately, I remembered that I had some acorns in storage from previous years. That gave me some extra ammo for Cornimer. Between those and the (non-rotten) acorns I found around town, I ended up with exactly 100 acorns!

Cornimer: The number of acorns you've given me is 100!

In all, Cornimer gave me seven pieces of mush furniture: A mush lamp, mush stool, mush end table, mush chair, mush closet, mush dresser, and a mush stand. I already have the full set in my house, so I sold all of these for a total of 15,600 bells.

Note: Drift’s birthday was on Monday, but I missed it. Oops.

Flea Market, Riddle

The flea market was held today, and I asked Drift about his mini drilloid. Unfortunately, he wanted 1,580 bells for it, so I didn’t buy it.

Drift: Whoa, what? No? You're missing out on some sweet sweat stains...

A riddle was posted to the bulletin board as the latest “Talking to Myself” post, and it’s about something that can be found in a garden pail.

-Talking to Myself- Today's daily riddle: Needs no shoes, has a tail, can be found in a garden pail. Oh! I forgot the answer!
A worm, perhaps? Let me know if you have a different answer!

When I visited Bones, I was intrigued by his dino droppings. 😆

Bones: Oh, are you looking at my dino droppings? Heh. I thought so.

I bought them for 1,100 bells, and Bones told me to treat them like one of my own children. 😆

Bones: Treat your new purchase like you would one of your own children, nutty!

At the Roost, I asked K.K. Slider for a random song, and he performed “Pondering” for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: Pondering!

After the concert, I checked the recycle bin at town hall. To my surprise, there was a cow skull in there! I wonder who put it there…and who the cow was. 😛 But I decided to just wrap up my game for the night.

The Acorn Festival is coming up next week! Hope to see you then!
