Spaced Out Sable

On Wednesday, Peanut told me she was finally over her cold. She was very grateful, but even she couldn’t believe how many times I gave her medicine. 😆

Peanut: Hon, I can't BELIEVE you came to see me so many times!
Narrator: It was five times.

To thank me, she gave me some steel flooring.

Yesterday, Bones informed me that Sable was acting like a space cadet. He wondered why she was more spaced out than he was. 😛

Bones: Sable was acting like a total space cadet today.

That made me wonder if I’ve been missing out on Sable’s backstory dialogue all this time. I know Tom Nook, Blathers, and the pelican sisters have a lot of that dialogue, but admittedly, I don’t visit Able Sisters much any more. I did befriend her in the early months of my town, but I don’t check in regularly throughout the year.

So I headed over there to see what was going on. But Sable didn’t have much to say, other than to confirm what Bones said.

Sable: Ohh, I'm sorry. I really am. I was spacing out a little bit, there.

Mabel said that Sable gets like this each winter. I guess I’ll need to keep checking in on them in the coming weeks.

Mabel: She always gets this way at this time of year... this part of winter.

Today, Caroline was telling me that La-Di-Day is coming up on Saturday (tomorrow). She was confident that she wasn’t going to lose to Bones, because he’s a tone-deaf dweeb! 😮

Caroline: All I know is, I'm not about to lose to Bones. That dweeb is tone deaf!

Don’t call Bones a dweeb, you big-eyed freak! 😛 I don’t plan on playing tomorrow, but I wouldn’t have chosen Caroline’s tune anyway since she insulted Bones like that. 😛

Octavian was feeling good, because he finally got a good house score from the HRA.

Octavian: The oppressive Happy Room Academy is finally giving me some love, yip yip!

He got 9,732 points, which may not sound all that high, but it is good for a villager house. That score will probably go down in time, as he displays the random junk I’ll eventually give him (and clears out some of his space stuff). 😛

I’ll be posting my latest Wild World episode (video) this weekend, so keep an eye out for that! See you soon! 🙂

Bone Pit

On Wednesday, I received my monthly bank statement from town hall. I earned exactly 50,000 bells of interest on my savings this month!

Dear Jeff, Thank you for using your post office bank account. You earned 50,000 bells for 30 days of interest! -Postal division, town hall

I’m now halfway to the maximum interest payment (99,999 bells), so apparently I’ll need to reach 20 million bells in savings to reach that. That will take me at least a few years, though. 😆 Earning money is such a slow process in older Animal Crossing games!

I found Pascal by the shore, and he told me some words of wisdom about selling things.

Pascal: If nobody wants what you're selling, put a bigger price tag on it, maaannn.

Yesterday, I heard someone fall into a pitfall, so I looked around. I found my buddy Bones struggling to get out. Aww, poor Bones! 🙁

Bones, in a pitfall: I'm in big trouble now! Heeeeelp! Oh, won't you help me, yip yip?

Octavian was home, so I got to see the inside of his house. Much like in other games, he has a bunch of space items and a couple of robo items as well.

The inside of Octavian's house in Animal Crossing: Wild World.

Today, Drift gave me a free item; it was a sleigh that he just found lying around.

Drift: All right, here, you can have this, then: my sleigh!
Drift: I can't BELIEVE people don't take better care of their stuff, yip yip!

You don’t think he swiped it when Santa was inside someone’s house delivering presents, do you? I hope not. 😛 (Maybe that’s why Wild World doesn’t celebrate Toy Day, because Santa’s sleigh got stolen.) 😆

Peanut has still been sick this week, so I gave her more medicine Wednesday, yesterday, and today. I’m starting to think medicine in this game doesn’t actually help at all. 😉

Dung Beetle Drama

When I played on Wednesday, my weekly evaluation from the Happy Room Academy (HRA) had a nice surprise for me: My score went up to 277,100 points!

Jeff, your room gets 277,100 points! Your room has personality and charm throughout! An impressive specimen! -Happy Room Academy

That piggy bank must have given me a nice bonus! I believe this is (again) my highest-ever house score in any Animal Crossing game.

But that wasn’t the only surprise I got in the mail. I also received a goodbye letter from Wolfgang, who left without warning.

To Jeff, Finally! I picked up and left Forest! I was so tired of this stink hole! Anyway, come visit, OK? Don't cry. -Wolfgang

I then made my way up to the town gate, and my timing was perfect: The UFO came right when I got there! I promptly shot it down.

Gulliver: Wait... I remember. There was a malfunction on my ship, a terrible blast...

I gathered up Gulliver’s missing UFO parts, and he rewarded with another Arc de Triomphe. Not what I was hoping for, but oh well.

Peanut has been sick lately, so I gave her some medicine Wednesday, and then again today.

Even though Wolfgang is gone, I found a house in the same spot today. I went inside, and I was pleasantly surprised to find Octavian, who just moved in.

Octavian: My sign is Virgo. Not that I really buy any of that astrology hooey.

Even though I didn’t necessarily want Wolfgang to leave, I’m happy with how things turned out. 🐙

Eloise challenged me to see who could catch a dung beetle first, and I agreed to the competition. It took me a while, but I eventually caught one. As I was catching it, she pinged me…

Me, as Eloise looks on: I caught a dung beetle! Shouldn't you be rolling something else?

She asked to trade the dung beetle I just caught for a one-way tee! Basically, she was asking me for another dung beetle before I even gave her the first one. So I turned down the trade request. (If I hadn’t, she might have claimed that she won the competition!) So after denying her the dung beetle, I then gave her the dung beetle. (Complicated, isn’t it?) She rewarded me with an exquisite rug, which was a better reward than a shirt anyway. 😛

I’ll be back with more next week! Have a fun (and safe) New Year’s Eve! 🎆
