Piggy Bank

On Wednesday, I found this “Talking to Myself” post on the bulletin board. It’s about one of the pelicans making sludgy tea for her sister. 😛

-Talking to Myself- My siter said, 'Your tea tastes like sludge!' I'm never making tea for her again. What a grump!

Yesterday, I put some bells into the bank, and I reached a major milestone: I’ve now saved up ten million bells!

Pelly: The current bell balance is 10,000,000.

Today, I received a letter from town hall. They congratulated me on saving ten million bells, and they sent me a gift! I was not expecting this!

Dear Jeff, In honor of the 10,000,000 bells you've saved, we are pleased to give you this commemorative gift. -Forest post office

I opened the gift; it was a piggy bank! I put it in my (mush) bedroom, moving one of my Master Swords to storage to make space for it.

Putting bells into my new piggy bank in Animal Crossing: Wild World.
Chonky piggy!

Each time I use it, I lose one bell. So it actually works, except that you can’t get the money back out. 😛

When I visited Peanut, she was telling me about this trendy harmonica she just bought. She said it was hard to use, so she wished she had just bought bought a discount harmonica instead. 😛

Peanut: It looks like a discount harmonica would've done the trick just as well!

I know this is random, but this made me imagine a new character for a future game: A special character who sells (or gives) you a different musical instrument each time they come to town. Perhaps you’ll hear a faint musical tune while walking in your town, and you have to look for the source (by shaking a tree perhaps). A bird flies down and gives you an instrument. I don’t know, just a thought. 😛

Anyway, Drift asked me to stop by Bones’s house to make a delivery, and I agreed to help out. But almost immediately after ending the conversation with Drift, I saw Bones practically right there! That made the delivery super easy! 😛

Drift and Bones just a few feet apart.

I handed Bones the gift (a red down vest), and then Drift gave me a lab wall for helping out. I wish all requests were this easy!

I’ll be back with another entry next week. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, everyone! ❄️

Fake Smiles, Fake Frowns

On Wednesday, I shot down Gulliver’s UFO (for the 30th time, if my records are correct). He asked me to recover the missing parts of his spaceship for him.

Gulliver: Say, my alien friend, I know you are primitive in your ways, but I have a question.

I gathered up the parts and returned them to Gulliver. In exchange, he gave me a Mouth of Truth (my 4th one).

Yesterday, Mitzi asked me to compete to see who could catch a sea bass first. Since that’s (obviously) an easy fish to catch, I agreed to the contest. I found one almost instantly, and Mitzi gave me 510 bells as my prize. But then she suggested that next time, she’ll steal my fishing rod before we start!

Mitzi: Next time, I'll have to steal your fishing rod before we start!

Wow, what a poor sport! Not what I expected from Mitzi, at all.

Today, I found Pascal near the shore. He told me not to judge anyone who fakes a smile.

Pascal: When someone fakes a smile, don't get mad, maaannn. At least they're trying.

He then gave me a keg before he jumped into the ocean and swam away.

Mitzi was talking about the sea bass I gave her yesterday, and she said she can always talk to her fishies if she doesn’t have any friends.

Mitzi: Even if I don't have any friends, I can always talk to my fishies, mew.
Awww. Well at least you have your fishies.

I delivered a gift from Drift to Dotty tonight. Dotty didn’t care much for the shirt, but Drift still rewarded me with 510 bells for making the delivery. He also said Dotty and I are his best buds…although he was frowning as he said it. 🤔

Drift: J-town, both you and Dotty are my bestest of best buds!
OK but why do you look angry when you say that?

If you haven’t yet seen my latest Wild World video, here it is. Episode #61.

Drinking Tomato Soup

Yesterday morning, it was really foggy in town as I took a walk along the beach.

Jeff walks along the beach on a foggy morning.

Gracie was in town, so I took her quiz and earned another Fashionista badge. I paid her 5,000 bells for new clothes, and she gave me this outfit: A groovy shirt and a paperboy cap.

Putting on my new outfit from Gracie.
I was not impressed.

This morning, Bones told me that he woke up and took a big swig of tomato soup. That sounds disgusting. 😛

Bones: ...put one hand on my hip... and took a big swig of tomato soup!

He actually thought he looked cool doing that, like a cowboy. 😆 Bones is so crazy. 🙂

Over by town hall, Peanut was happy to see me, and she started to cheer for me. But she seemingly forgot what letter my name started with, despite literally just calling me J-town. 😆

Peanut: Oh, sweet! Look who's here! J-town! Let's cheer! Gimme a...um...letter! Yaaay!

She said she was going to relax and do nothing all day. 😛

Meanwhile, Caroline told me she filled up her watering can, and she’s going to have a gardening day! Good luck with that!

Caroline: For the first time in ages, it's Caroline's gardening day, hulaaaa!

Dotty is still sick, so I gave her more medicine yesterday and today.

I posted a new video today, taking a look at some of the positivity that comes from feel-good dialogue throughout the Animal Crossing series (including several clips from Wild World). I hope you’ll take a look!
