Short Stay, La-Di-Day

On Thursday, Bones gave me a free gift: a broken post. Sounds like a blog entry that won’t load correctly. 😉

Bones: I trust you'll treat my broken post the way you would me.

Today was La-Di-Day, and everyone wanted me to choose their song to be the new town tune.

Wolfgang: I've been practicing screaming at random people to improve my vocal power!
Bones: Hey, sunshine, wanna hear my funky jam?
Peanut: I've got an amazing voice, so I'm going to try to win today's big competition.

But Peanut was the first to sing for me, and I liked her song. So I chose her song as the new town tune. Congrats, Peanut!

Peanut: WOOHOO! I'm so happy, nutty! You have super good taste, sunshine!

When I visited Maelle, I was surprised to see she was already packed up in boxes and ready to move out! Even though I almost never do this, I decided to let her go…after just eight days in town! This has got to be one of the shortest stays in any of my towns ever.

Maelle: Don't make that face! I don't want to remember you with that ugly, sad face!
Well that’s how I remember you.

At the Roost, K.K. performed Aloha K.K. for me. At one point, the “camera” was briefly behind Brewster’s counter, so I got a close-up view of his siphon. 😛

A look at K.K. Slider from behind Brewster's counter.

See you all next time!

Duck and Run

Yesterday, I received Olivia’s goodbye letter in the mail.

To my friend, Jeff, I'm leaving Forest, but I'm not sad! It'll be exciting to meet some new, cultured people! Whatever! -Olivia
I’m not sad either. Bye.

When I visited Deena, she told I should never open other people’s drawers and cabinets without asking first.

Deena: HEY! You shouldn't open other people's drawers and cabinets without asking!

I wasn’t going to! But since she said that, I just had to. So I looked in all three of her lockers. 😛 She didn’t have anything good, though.

Jeff, looking in Deena's locker: Heh heh! I'm such a snoop!

I visited Wolfgang, and he asked what my favorite body part was. I chose “my legs” from his list of options, and he asked why…because he didn’t think I’d be able to run very fast. He even said I’d roll faster than I’d run. Dude, that’s harsh.

Wolfgang: Actually, you look like you'd roll faster than you'd run. Ooh, snap!
You have chosen death.

Today, Olivia’s replacement moved in: Maelle the duck.

Maelle: Sigh... I'll bet that he's looking up at the same sky right now.

She said she fled to Forest for many complicated reasons…one of which is apparently trying to get over a guy from her former town.

Maelle: I'm Maelle. I fled to this town for many, many complicated reasons.

Just like Wolfgang before her, Maelle recently lived in my City Folk town until a few months ago. She’s not one of my favorites, but maybe I’ll try to go easy on her since she’s hurting right now.

See you next week!

Wolf Scared Cat Out

Yesterday, I found a new house in town, and Wolfgang was inside! I most recently had him in my City Folk town, earlier this year.

Wolfgang: Whoa! I've never seen your mug before. You new here, snarrrl?

Back outside, I listened in on an interesting conversation between Butch and Peanut. Peanut said that she will never go to a tropical island until she has mended her broken heart (by staring out at the sea and eating chocolate).

Peanut: I've got to stare out to sea and mend my broken heart.

Butch accused Peanut of stealing those lines from a cheesy pop song. And then he suggested that Peanut should get her head checked out by Dr. Shrunk. 😛

Butch: You ever thought about getting your head checked by Dr. Shrunk?
Is he going to heal her with bad jokes?

Saharah was in town, and I helped her out big-time: I made deliveries to Tom Nook, Blathers, and Pelly. Saharah let me pick a blue tarp or tropical floor for my reward, and I chose the latter.

Saharah: Ah, yes! That is very rare! Take good care of it, friend! Many thanks again!

Deena’s illness is showing no signs of letting up. I gave her some more medicine yesterday, and then again today. Hope you can get rid of that funky cold, Deena!

Even though Wolfgang just arrived in town yesterday, I already have someone on the way out today: Olivia. She was all packed up, and I decided to let her leave this time. She’s been in town for over a year, and that’s longer than I thought I’d ever keep her. 😛

Olivia: In my litterbox! Welcome to casa de Olivia!

Did Wolfgang’s arrival scare her off? We may never know the truth. 😛
