Acorn Festival 2021

Today is the first day of the annual, week-long Acorn Festival in Animal Crossing: Wild World.

Kid Cat: Man, the Acorn Festival starts today, right?

All week, the mysterious Cornimer (who is totally not Tortimer in disguise) can be found outside of town hall. He uses his “special powers” to scatter acorns around town.

Cornimer: For the next week, I'll be using my special powers to scatter acorns around town.

By gathering up acorns and returning them to Cornimer, you can obtain various pieces of mush furniture. You can also get a special fortune from Cornimer. Mine told me to make a decision and do ten chin-ups. 😛

Your secret fortune: Mini Acorn. Life: Do your best! Hopes: Make a decision. Karma: Do ten chin-ups. Look behind you!

When I visited Goldie, she informed me that she’s finally over her cold. She thanked me for all the medicine I took her last week by giving me a lovely wall.

Goldie: You have given me the most precious of gifts... The gift of good health!

I collected a total of 40 acorns (while being careful not to give Tortimer any rotten acorns), and I redeemed them for a mush stool, mush end table, mush lamp, and a mush chair.

Cornimer: The number of acorns you've given me is 40!

I sold the furniture for a total of 8,300 bells. (I didn’t need any of them, because I already have the complete mush set in my house.)

The Acorn Festival continues through Sunday, and it will prevent other special characters from visiting town. So for that reason, I probably won’t play again until next week. Hope to see you then!

Two Cat Photos

Saharah was in town yesterday, so I gave her another turban from Wendell.

Saharah: It is a turban!!! Look at it! Very stylish! And it is wrapped so perfectly...

Unfortunately, she gave me another massage chair instead of a red vase. So it’s going to take another run through the trading sequence before I can get Tom Nook’s pic. But now, I have two massage chairs for Tortimer, which I can use to get two more scallops eventually. I wonder if I can get them both on the same day. I kinda doubt it, but I’ll give it a try the next time I see Tortimer.

When I spoke with Saharah again, she asked me to make some deliveries for her. First, she gave me some wallpaper meant for Phyllis. It was too early in the day for Phyllis, but Pelly accepted it at town hall. Next, I took some wallpaper to Mabel.

Mabel: Jeff, did you come all the way here just to deliver that to me?

The job was done, so Saharah offered me a western vista (wallpaper) or Saharah’s desert (flooring). I chose the wallpaper.

Today, Olivia surprised me by giving me her picture! She has lived in town since June, so I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised. But you never know when they’ll give it out, so it always happens out of the blue.

Olivia: It's a picture of me! Do I look good or do I look good, woof?
Woof.

Cyrano asked me to deliver a letter to Kid Cat, so I took it over. But before I could give it to the cat in red, he pinged me and gave me his photo too! Wow, two cat photos in one day!

Kid Cat: Here! It's my photo! Awesome, huh, slacker?

Kid Cat has only lived in town for a month, so this one is even more surprising! But it’s always nice to be treated to a villager’s photo, especially when it’s from a villager I like (such as Kid Cat). 🙂

I then gave Kid Cat the letter, and he got a laugh out of it. Cyrano rewarded me with an arched window for making the delivery.

I took my new photos home and put them in my upstairs room.

My room full of 23 villager photos.

I now have 23 villager photos…but the bad thing is that I’m out of room for more. Well technically, I can fit one more photo up here, but I’ll have to take my music player out of the room. After that, I’ll have some tough decisions to make.

Olivia’s quote encapsulates her snooty personality perfectly.

Quote on Olivia's pic: You're the best kind of friend because you make me look even prettier.

Kid Cat’s quote is actually about spandex, believe it or not.

Spandex is the best disguise.

I gave Goldie some more medicine on Wednesday, Thursday, and then again today. Hopefully she’ll be over this cold soon.

When I put today’s earnings into the bank, my balance topped two million bells.

I’ll be back with another entry next week. Hope to see you then!

Bob, Bachelor Nook

As much as I hated to see Big Top leaving without notice, I could not be happier with his replacement. That’s because BOB just moved in today! Bob is one of my favorite villagers in the entire series! Yay! Welcome to Forest, Bob! 🙂

Bob: The sun at dusk is so fiery and neat looking... It's amazing, pthhpth.

Over at Nookington’s, Tom Nook had some new dialogue for me. He clarified that Timmy and Tommy are not his kids.

Tom Nook: Tommy and Timmy are not my children!

For a long time, I thought they were his nephews. But Tom Nook said that they’re not related to him at all!

Tom Nook: Those two are just my employees, yes? We're not related at all!

He said that he’s just a swinging bachelor. Too much information, Nook. I don’t need to hear this.

Tom Nook: I'm still just a swinging bachelor, yes?

Back outside, Bunnie told me that she mainly uses her net to keep admirers away! Maybe she’s talking about that rat standing behind her. 😛

Bunnie: This net? Oh, I mostly use this to keep admirers away from me, tee-hee!

Of course, Samson was carrying a net too. Maybe they can have net fights with each other. Haha, wouldn’t that be funny if villagers could actually do that? 😀

Goldie was still sick with a cold, so I gave her some more medicine.

See you all next time! Have a great day!
