Bright Nights 2021

Today, I received a letter from the snowman I built last week. He sent me a snowman clock, which is one of the items I still needed. So I moved my main room around a bit to make room for it. I now have nine of the snowman furniture items to go along with the floor and wall; I’m almost done!

My snowman room as of February 2021.

Rolf was in a bad mood today, and he was being more than a bit rude.

Rolf: Oh, hello! You tryin' to make me mad? 'Cause you're succeeding!

I rolled up today’s snowballs and made a perfect snowman.

Snowman: All flawlessly executed! And my face... Perfection!

Nookington’s had a spotlight product today, but it was just a plum bonsai. Even though it’s not a painting like I was hoping for, I still bought it because I needed it for my catalog.

Bunnie was sick with a cold, so I asked if she needed some medicine. She then called me a mean old liar because I didn’t have any on me. I never said I had it yet, I just asked if she needed it! It seems like everyone is being rude today!

Bunnie: You don't have medicine! LIAR! MEAN OLD LIAR! ...Oooh, I'm gonna be sick... BLARRG!
Did she just puke on me?!

But I did go buy some medicine for her anyway.

The Bright Nights festival is underway this week, with villager houses (and some trees) decorated with festive lights. I decided that Bunnie’s house looked the best, mainly because she had two decorated trees nearby.

Tortimer was outside of town hall for the event, and he seemed to be the only one in town that was in a good mood today. Well, aside from the snowman.

Tortimer: And I'm the mayor... Life is good, sprout! Whooo-eee! Heh heh heh HOORF!

I told him that Bunnie was my choice for the best house, and he said he’d pass along the compliment to her. I returned to Bunnie’s house to see if she’d mention it, but she only spoke about the medicine I gave her. Well, at least she’s feeling better now…and not leaking.

Bunnie: You know, 'cause the medicine totally made my head stop leaking!

With all of my tasks completed, I started gathering and selling fruit. Once I met my goal, I made my final million-bell donation to Boondox. Uh, I mean, Boondopolis.

Pelly: I will continue to send your donations to Boondox... I mean, Boondopolis.

So unless I made an error in my calculations, Boondox should be complete and I should receive my rainbow feather in the mail the next time I play. I’ll be sure to let you know next week. 🙂

How Town Hall Was Funded

When I visited Rolf today, he said that even though we’re still just casual acquaintances, he has a feeling that we have chemistry…and that scares him. 😛

Rolf: ...I get this feeling that we've got chemistry, and it scares me...

Margie reminded me that the Bright Nights festival is coming up soon (next week, apparently). Pretty cool! That’s still one of Wild World’s best exclusive events.

Margie: The Bright Nights party starts soon, tootie. It lasts all week long.

Mathilda was talking about the town hall building and how impressive it is. She even said she heard that someone made a killing on turnips, and built town hall with the profits!

Mathilda: I heard that someone made a killing on turnips and built it with the profits...

So I learned something new today! I’m guessing it was Tortimer that hit the turnip jackpot? Maybe it was so long ago that Tortimer and Joan were both young! Now that’s hard to imagine. 😛

Bunnie was all packed up and ready to move out of town already, which surprised me. It’s barely been a month since she arrived, which is way too soon to let her go. So I asked her to reconsider.

Bunnie: Oh, what should I do? Should I change my mind, grrrolf?

I see she’s already using Rolf’s catchphrase. 😛 It doesn’t seem to fit her. 😀

It’s February now, and the snow will be gone in just three weeks. So I made sure to build a snowman today, and he turned out good. I would like to complete my snowman set before the winter is over. But then again, snowmen do send duplicates in this game, so my chances may not be great.

Snowman: Just waiting and waiting for a nice kid like you to come along and finish me.

I went on a fruit-gathering run, selling practically all the foreign fruit I could find. Between that, today’s fossils, and the money rock, I made a total of 75,000 bells. I now only need 67,000 bells to make my final Boondox donation! So I may be able to do that by next week, as long I don’t play so late at night that the store is already closed. 😛

Margie’s Birthday

I received a letter from Margie in the mail today, and at first, I was afraid she moved out. Fortunately, that wasn’t the case. She was just inviting me to her birthday party, which was actually today!

Dear Jeff, Since January 28th is my birthday, I'm planning a little party! I hope you come...with a present! See ya! -From Margie

But when I showed up at her house, she looked shocked! She didn’t even remember sending me the invitation! Awkward

Margie: Oh! Did I send you an invitation, J-puff? I can't remember...

I gave her a Nintendo bench that I bought at Nookington’s last week, and she seemed to enjoy it. Although she gave me an iron frame in return, which made it seem like a trade instead of a birthday gift. She said we’re friends forever, although it didn’t exactly feel genuine at the moment. 😛

Margie: Friends forever, J-puff!

Mathilda was also at the party, and she said she loves celebrating other people’s birthdays. That’s because she gets to enjoy eating cake, without being the one that’s getting older. 😛

Mathilda: 'Cause I get to eat cake, but I don't get any older, wee baby!

Back outside, I was near the museum when I ran into Antonio. He said I was so far away from my house that he wondered if I was sleeping outside tonight.

Antonio: Whoa, you're so far away from your home today... Sleeping outside tonight?

Aside from the fact that Wild World towns aren’t that big to begin with, I wasn’t even that far! Maybe a 20-second walk from home? I think Antonio needs to keep his nose out of my business. 👃 😛

I visited Goldie, and she surprised me by telling me that Big Top and Benedict are getting along too well.

Goldie: Benedict and Big Top are getting along way too well.

She said it was making her jealous! Aww, Goldie, don’t feel bad. Wanna take a walk? Grab your leash and let’s go.

Goldie: I can't quite explain why... but it's making me really jealous!

Wendell the walrus was in town, and he was starving (as usual). I gave him a bitterling that I caught in the river and he wolfed it down. In return, he gave me a “road 1 pattern.” It’s one of the four corners used with the road patterns.
