Rude Anteater

Benedict was talking about Big Top and Goldie tonight, wondering if they were just friends or if they had some smooching going on. He asked what I thought, and I just left the slider in the middle between those options. He apparently loves gossiping about people almost as much as he enjoys eating!

Benedict: I just love talking about other people! It's almost as fun as eating!

Antonio wanted to have a competition to see who could catch a monarch first.

Antonio: Lemme ask you this, then: How fast can you catch a monarch?

But it was late at night; I knew monarchs weren’t out! So I declined the offer, and he called me lame. How rude! Even villagers that I like end up annoying me sometimes in Wild World.

Antonio: OK, OK, I gotcha... I didn't know you were so... lame, up my nose.

I did some fishing, and I managed to catch an arapaima!

I caught an arapaima! It's big...and kinda gross!
Gross? It looks like a big green bag of bells to me! 😉

I also caught a red snapper and several salmon. When I was done, I also gathered some fruit to sell at Nookington’s. In total, I earned about 70,000 bells on the night.

Kabuki’s Big Moment

It was a dark, stormy night in Forest tonight. It was also La-Di-Day, and Benedict went on and on about how great his song was going to be.

Benedict: But if I add some sweet dance moves, Goldie is gonna be toast!

However, he neglected to actually perform his song for me…even though I spoke with him repeatedly. 😛

But when I visited Kabuki, he actually did sing his song for me. Admittedly, it wasn’t the best…but I was tired of my previous town tune, so I hired him anyway. He was so happy!

Kabuki: Whoa! No way, meooo-OH! No one has ever said they liked my singing before!

It was actually cute to see a big grump like Kabuki moved to tears. I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen this side of him before.

Kabuki: I've been waiting my whole life for this moment!

I went to the Roost, and K.K. Slider performed one of my favorite songs: K.K. Faire.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Faire!

Margie was practically the only animal in town not obsessed with La-Di-Day. She just thanked me for being her friend. That was awfully nice of her.

Margie: Thanks for being my friend. You're always there for me, and I think that's great.

Flea Market Blues

Tom Nook informed me that he had a spotlight product today, and I got my hopes up. I have yet to see a painting for sale, despite unlocking spotlight products a year ago. But my hopes were again quickly dashed when I saw that a hi-fi stereo was the spotlight product.

A hi-fi stereo is available as the spotlight product at Nookington's.

It’s flea market day, so all the indoor villagers are trying to sell their belongings. When I entered Victoria’s house, she said that today she doesn’t even mind random people entering her house.

Victoria: On this day, I don't even mind random people walking around my house!
A random person? I thought I was your friend.

And when I told her I wasn’t interested in buying anything, she was not a happy camper.

Victoria: Whaaaaaaaaat?! SO uncool, sunshine! L-A-M-E! Lame, I ate it!

Down at the Roost, I felt like asking K.K. Slider for a sad song. But that’s not an option in this game, so I let him choose the song. But somehow, it seemed like he heard my unstated request; he obliged by playing K.K. Lament.

K.K. All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Lament!

I sold all three of today’s fossils, got bells from the money rock, harvested some fruit, and did a little fishing (catching mostly salmon). In all, I earned about 50,000 bells on the day.
