Expired Food

I saw a letter from Victoria in the mail today, and I thought it was a goodbye letter. Until I opened it, that is. 😛 She was just reminding me that her birthday is coming up next week, on July 11th. I’m not sure if I’ll be playing that day or not, but I’m not going to go out of my way to make it to her party.

Today was flea market day in Wild World, and Big Top wasted no time in trying to guilt me into buying something. He said that no one ever tells him what piece of furniture in his house that they like best…

Big Top: No one ever tells me which piece of furniture in my house they like the best.

But he said surely I would, since I’m one of his best buddies.

Big Top: But, as one of my best buddies, you'll tell me, right?

It actually worked. 😛 I went over to his lime chair, and he told me he’d sell it for 330 bells. That was cheap enough, so I bought it.

It was raining in town, and Victoria was trying to look on the bright side. She said at least we don’t need to water the flowers today. Yeah, that would be a good thing…if I hadn’t already let 95% of the flowers in town die earlier this year. 😂

Victoria: Like today! Yep, it's raining, but now we don't need to water the flowers.

Benedict wanted me to open a can of food of his that expired on the 4th of last year. (That’s what he said. He didn’t give a month). I agreed to help him out, and oddly, the game gave me a slider for deciding whether I would open the can or leave it closed.

Open it. ---- Keep it closed.

Once I opened it, he said there was a weird sparkling water-colored thing inside. And he said it stinks. I just wondered what he was expecting, if it expired last year.

Antonio wasn’t participating in the flea market, because he was trying to move out of town! I changed his mind for him, however.

Happy 4th of July! I’ll be back with another entry next week.

Talking Coffee

Pascal was in town today, and he told me that salespeople sell their truth at half off. That’s an interesting way of looking at it…and he’s basically right.

Pascal: Maaannn, salespeople sell their truth at half off.

He then gave me a sea view (wallpaper) and jumped into the ocean.

I visited Goldie, and she told me a story about one time she tried doing some tae kwon do with a mouth full of banana bread. It turned out that the banana bread got stuck in her throat! Oh no, poor doggy!

Goldie: ...It got stuck in my throat! It was terrible!

It was nearly 11 p.m. when I started the game up tonight, so I didn’t have much chance to sell things. In fact, I only managed to sell one load of fruit (plus the sea view from Pascal). Even with me finding the money rock later, I only made a total of 14k on the day. Not good.

Kabuki was sick, and I couldn’t buy any medicine for him. However, I checked my storage at home and found one dose of medicine there. I took it over to Kabuki; get well soon!

Kabuki: Phew... I'm finally feelin' a little less delirious, meooo-OH.

At town hall, Phyllis had some dialogue about coffee for me! She asked if I was a coffee drinker. I am.

Phyllis: Are you a coffee drinker? 'Cause I don't trust people who aren't!

She told me I should go to the Roost and get a cup of the best coffee in town. (It’s also the only coffee in town). 😉

So I did go down to the Roost, and I was very surprised to see Harriet there! I don’t think I’ve seen her there before, in any game!

Harriet: I already know whatever you were going to say. Call it a stylist's intuition.
I was going to tell you that you’ve been replaced by a mirror.

Have a good night, everyone! See you next time.

Margie’s Twinkle

Victoria was all packed up and ready to move out of town, but I talked her out of it. It only took one try, which was nice for a change. 😛

Mathilda asked me to make a delivery to Margie, and she only gave me ten minutes to do it. And it nearly took me that long to find her, too. But I made the delivery in time, and Margie seriously loved her gift, a twinkle shirt.

Margie: Woo hoo! Yes! YEEEEES! All my life I've been wanting a twinkle shirt!
That may be the strongest reaction to a delivery I’ve ever seen.

When I told Mathilda the job was complete, she gave me a stone tile. I was a bit less excited than Margie.

Kabuki was sick with a cold, so I bought some medicine for him. He started to feel better right away.

Kabuki: Oh! I'm feelin' pretty dang good all of a sudden! Thanks, J-puff!

I saw Dr. Shrunk was in town, but I didn’t even bother talking to him. I guess I just had an axolotl on my mind.

I collected and sold some fruit to make some bells. But it also helped that I caught a hammerhead shark and goliath beetle. I ended up making about 80k on the night. That was enough to put my savings up to a million bells, so I made another 7-figure donation to Boondox.

Phyllis: 1,000,000 bells?

If I’m not mistaken, I still need to donate two million more bells before I’m done with Boondox forever. That’s still going to take a while.
