Goldie’s Pic, Golden Rose

On Wednesday, Buck told me he would give me his modern wall for free. But then he did what Teddy has done so many times, and he changed his mind!

Buck: ...Hey, on second thought... it's really not your color, so never mind, pardner!
Keep this up and you’ll be galloping out of town.

On Thursday, Buck accused me of wanting to snoop through his things. In particular, he said I wanted to try on his unitards!

Buck: You wanna find my unitard stash and try 'em on, don't you, pardner?!
No, I prefer a tutu. jk

I promise this entire entry isn’t going to be about Buck. But yesterday, he was talking about how funny it would be if Benedict and Kabuki were brothers. Yeah, since one is a chicken and one is a cat, that would be pretty odd.

Buck: Wouldn't it be funny if Benedict and Kabuki turned out to be brothers?

And then he said it would hilarious if they were actually sisters!

Buck: Then again, it would be HILARIOUS if they were sisters, pardner!

Okay, that’s enough nonsense from Buck for this entry. Other things were going on, too. Last week, I got one of my black roses out of storage and planted it outside of my house. Yesterday, it was finally wilted…so I watered it with my golden watering can.

I found a note in a bottle on the beach, and it contained a horoscope. It advised me to wear big shoes and do the chicken dance repeatedly. Uh, no thanks.

Daily Horoscope: Because Mars is entering Capricorn, you should wear big shoes and do the chicken dance. Repeatedly. -Astrocon Industries

Goldie really surprised me by giving me her picture! Goldie is so sweet!

Goldie: It's nothing much. Just a picture of me, meooo-OH, but I hope you like it!

I took it home and put it in my villager photo room.

Jeff's room of villager pictures, including the new one from Goldie.

I was surprised when I read Goldie’s quote…it’s about her liking a dog on the cover of Nintendogs! I was definitely not expecting that!

Quote on Goldie's pic: I'm really into that Lab on the cover of Nintendogs. He's pretty dreamy.

Today (Sunday), that wilted black rose from yesterday has transformed into my first golden rose!

Jeff's first golden rose in Animal Crossing: Wild World.

Nookington’s had a lovely wall, so I bought it and mailed it to Rosie. I’ll have to see if she puts it in her house next time!

It’s the last day of Bright Nights, and that’s fine by me. Most of the outdoor villagers just talked about their decorations all week, so a lot of the conversations were a bit boring and repetitive.

Since last week, I’ve posted another Wild World video episode. This one covers events that took place from January 6-16, including me receiving my golden watering can. Check it out if you’d like, and I’ll see you next time.

The Buck Starts Here

Margie has started asking me for white furniture, so I’ve been shopping for her as well lately. Tom Nook has had a lot of kitchen items, and Margie accepts them as white. So I gave her a stove and a kitchen corner last Monday.

Last Tuesday, Benedict told me something that his father told him: Never trust anyone who says they like everything.

Benedict: Never trust anyone who says they like everything, uh-hoo!

Tuesday also happened to be Margie’s birthday. I gave her a kitchen sink, and she really seemed to appreciate it.

Margie: I was JUST about to go get one of these for myself, tootie!

She gave me a mahjong table in return. And it’s hard to see in the above screenshot, but Mathilda was also at Margie’s party.

On Thursday, Kabuki told me about a letter he got from the Happy Room Academy. He told me they said his room had a Fungus Sway infection?

Kabuki: They say my room has some kind of cool Fungus Sway infection, meooo-OH!

That really left me confused at first. But then I realized, he was talking about feng shui. I still don’t quite get where the word “infection” would have come up, but oh well. I guess Kabuki just got a little confused.

Kabuki: My little fungus earned me 959 points, and even some cool stuff!

I made a snowman, and he sent me a snowman bed in the mail. I didn’t play last Friday, but I received it on Saturday. The problem is that it was flea market day, so villagers kept coming in my house when I was trying to find a place for the bed! First Big Top, then Kabuki, and then Goldie!

I get comments on Youtube sometimes from people who miss the flea markets in Wild World and City Folk, but I can’t say I agree. It’s so frustrating when you’re just trying to put a piece of furniture down, and you can’t. I ultimately left the bed in the middle of my room.

When I walked a bit south from my house, I was very surprised to see a new villager: Buck!

Buck: I'm Buck, aka the Chugging Ninja! I just moved here.

The most surprising part is that he was outside; he wasn’t indoors unpacking his boxes! His house was not there on Thursday, and I didn’t play on Friday. But I did turn the game on to check out the weather. However, I turned the game off after seeing no snow on the title screen. Does the game treat it as a day played if it simply loads the title screen? It shouldn’t… but why else would Buck already be outside? Hmm…

Yesterday (February 2nd) was Groundhog Day. Even though Wild World doesn’t really celebrate the occasion like the other games in the series do, I did get a letter from Mom about it.

Dear Jeff, Did the groundhog show his face today? There IS a groundhog in that odd commune you live in, yes? I must know! -Mom

Buck must be allergic to Forest, because he was already sick! Or maybe he just had a Fungus Sway infection. Either way, I gave him some medicine so he can get buck to feeling like himself.

Today (Monday) is the start of Bright Nights. Even though it wasn’t quite dark yet when I played, I saw that the villagers’ houses were still decorated with blinking lights.

Outside of town hall, Tortimer joked that the lights of Bright Nights were burning his eyes. 😛

Tortimer: AUGH! The lights! They're burning my eyes!

After I told him I enjoyed the lights, he forced me to choose whose lights were the best. Since Benedict just walked by, I said his name. 😛 But there aren’t really any consequences to your choice.

Since last week, I’ve posted a new Wild World video, episode 24. But I just realized I forgot to embed episode 23 in the blog from the week before. So here are both videos. I hope you enjoy them!

Yay Day 2020

It’s been a full week since the last entry, and I played almost every day. A lot has happened, so I’m going to divide this entry into sections for each day.

Monday

At the start of the week, I saw Dr. Shrunk from across the river and I tried to wave to him. But even though he was (blankly) looking in my direction, he wouldn’t wave. It’s probably because he’s an NPC and not a villager, but I’m still going to take it personally.

Dr. Shrunk stands across the river from me, but won't wave to me.

I bought a lovely carpet at Nookington’s, and I mailed it to Rosie. I knew it would match her room.

Teddy again told he was going to give me a free item, and then said he forgot to bring it. I was sick of him playing this prank, so I had to pull a little prank of my own.

Teddy flips out of a pitfall in Animal Crossing: Wild World (ACWW).
I buried him.

I saw two snowballs that weren’t very far apart, so I built myself a snowman. He turned out perfect. ☃

A snowman that Jeff built in ACWW.

Tuesday

Rosie replied to my letter, and she sent me a palace tile. I also had a letter from the snowman; he sent me a snowman fridge. I put it in my house, replacing my regular refrigerator that I used to access my storage.

Jeff's snowman fridge is a new addition to his snowman themed room.

When I visited Rosie, I was happy to see that she installed the lovely carpet in her house.

Rosie's pink room now features a lovely carpet.

Wednesday

Rosie was talking about Yay Day, and she said she would have to come up with something nice to say about me that was believable! Wow, Rosie is usually so sweet, but that was pretty rude.

Rosie: I'm gonna have to come up with something nice to say about you that's believable.

Mathilda asked me for a fossil, so I gave her a fern fossil that I already had in my pockets. In return, she gave me a stone wall.

Friday

Even though I played on Thursday, nothing of interest happened. On Friday, I gave Kabuki another piece of green furniture–a green bed. He rewarded me with 710 bells.

I also gave Mathilda another fossil, an ammonite, and she gave me 510 bells.

Teddy was walking around outside, but I didn’t speak to him.

Sunday

I did not play yesterday (Saturday), but I was still quite to surprised to find a goodbye letter from Teddy in the mail today!

Ooooo yeah, Jeff! Hey, yo! I gotta hit the road! There's another town that needs to see my totally huge guns! Get pumped! -Teddy

Sometimes villagers stick around for two days while they’re packed up, so it’s a bit confusing as to why that doesn’t always happen. But still, I’m glad Teddy is the one that moved out. Maybe he’s been reading my blog and saw that he wasn’t wanted. Or maybe it was the pitfall. 😂

Anyway, Today is Yay Day…the day to give villagers compliments. Big Top got things started by complimenting me…he said I was cool like a banana split.

Big Top: Hey, J-bot! You're so cool! You're like a banana split!

In return, I told him he is a superhero.

Kabuki told me I look so good that the fruit is turning to cobbler on the trees. I told him he’s a ninja. I also told Goldie she’s a good girl, I told Margie she’s a sweetie, and I told Rosie she’s a princess.

Rosie: C'mon! Say something amazing! Treat me like a pretty princess!

I was running out of compliments, so I kind of avoided Mathilda. 😛
