Goldie Comes Home

Teddy had something to say to me tonight, and he seemed pretty proud of it:

I don’t know what it meant, but Teddy seemed to think it was the best thing ever. He thinks it could be Catchphrase of the Year. I think this Teddy bear is just full of himself. 😛

Teddy: Whatcha think?! That's rad enough to be Catchphrase of the Year, huh!

Benedict wanted to see which one of us could catch a monarch butterfly first. Since it was too late for them to even be out, I declined the challenge. There was literally no way I could win.

Benedict: The first one to make a monarch do a split wins, uh-hoo!
You’re a strange bird, Ben.

Rosie was sick with a cold, so I gave her some medicine. She gulped it down quickly…or at least I’m assuming that’s what her “lugalugaluga” meant. 😛

Rosie: Lugalugaluga... I feel a little better! Whew! Thanks, J-town!

There was a new house in town, and I met my new neighbor inside. It was Goldie the dog! I like Goldie a lot! Maybe not quite as much as Kiki, but I definitely can’t complain. I still like all of my Wild World villagers! 🙂

Goldie: My name's Goldie, and I'm your perfect textbook Capricorn, woof.
So you’re the GOAT?

I had Blathers identify some fossils for me, I gathered and sold a bunch of fruit, and I checked Crazy Redd’s tent (he had nothing I wanted). After that, I wrapped up my game for the night.

Once the snowy season starts in December, I *might* finally try for a perfect town. The frequent snow will help keep my flowers watered, so that may be a good time to go for it. I’ll have to play near-daily for a while too (though I won’t be blogging every day), so that might also help me play on Spotlight Sale days. And that would increase my odds of getting those last couple paintings I need. We’ll see how things go!

A Sad Goodbye & Chicken Lips

My jaw dropped when I checked my mail tonight. Kiki, my favorite villager in town, was gone. She sent me this goodbye letter.

This is sad, Jeff, I'm sick of being normal! I wanna be peppy or angry or tired or...anything! So I'm moving! See ya! Be well... -Kiki

When I play once a week, as I have been, it’s rare for anyone to leave without warning like this. They’ll often be a villager in boxes ready to move out, sure. I don’t always mention that in the blog if I’m making them stay. But for someone to already be gone by the time I play, well that doesn’t happen very often.

Maybe I can blame Halloween for the black cat taking off. Just kidding about that, but it is really sad to see her go. Not only was she my favorite villager in town, but she had been here for over three years. In fact, my town was only a week old when she moved in!

Anyway, Tom Nook was asking me about the way he dresses at Nookington’s tonight. He wasn’t sure if he commands enough respect with what he was wearing.

Tom Nook: Are you trying to confuse me? Does it please you to taunt me, hm?
Tom Nook: These clothes just don't suit me...

Teddy asked me to deliver a letter to Rosie, and I agreed to help out. Rosie enjoyed the letter, and then told me to say hi to Teddy for her…even though Teddy was standing right next to me.

Rosie: OK then, don't forget to say hi to old Teddy for me!
Or you could do it yourself?

But as soon as I got done speaking with her, she saw Teddy and immediately accused him of stalking her!

Rosie: Teddy...I know you're a big fan... But would you stop following me?!
Oh by the way, Teddy… Rosie says hi.

When I ran into Benedict, he asked what his best side was. I chose “right,” and his response was nearly as shocking as Kiki’s goodbye letter. He asked if I wanted him to kiss me! WHAT THE HECK, BENEDICT?

Benedict: You think my lips are cute? Why, do you want me to smooch you or something?
No thanks. And do you even have lips?

What a weird night it was in Forest. It almost feels like a dream. Wait, is it a dream? Am I writing this blog entry in my sleep? I’ll let you know when I wake up. 😉

All For Nothing

I visited Big Top tonight, and he was wondering if fish have personalities. He said he thought that the octopus is the indoor type.

Big Top: My personal opinion is that the octopus is more of the indoor type.

What he was trying to say is that he wanted to have a competition to see who could catch an octopus first.

I’ve been trying to raise my Nook membership rank lately. So at Nookington’s, I did a little shopping.

Timmy: Yes? Yes? How can we help you this fine day? ...day!

When I went outside, Mint was holding a bug net. She told me she was looking for a pill bug.

Mint: I'm looking for a bug called a pill bug, ahhhhhh.

I spent about 15 minutes trying to catch that octopus for Big Top, and I eventually got my hands on one. But when I took it to Big Top, he told me he won. He said he just caught one, so he didn’t need mine.

Big Top: Whoa... Huh huh huh! I won! Villain!

He’s lucky he was indoors, because I wanted to pitfall him bad. When I spoke to him again, he wanted to have another competition to see who could catch a carp. No way. I walked out of his house.

Back over by Nookington’s, Mint showed me a letter she got about weeding from a “concerned neighbor.” In the background, Kabuki and Rosie were having a conversation, and you can see a very happy Rosie in the upper-left corner of this screenshot:

Listen up, Mint! Weeding is very tiring, especially when you don't have hands! So weed your own plot, you lazy bum. -A concerned neighbor

After I harvested some fruit, I caught a pill bug for Mint. However, there was no option to give it to her! Apparently, the pill bug comment was just part of her normal dialogue and she wasn’t actually asking me to catch her one. Ugh, I guess the fishing and bug-catching I did tonight was all for nothing.

Last week, I put up a video ranking all of my villagers in all seven of my Animal Crossing towns. My Wild World town is unique in that I like all of my current residents! Check it out if you haven’t seen it yet.

And just today, I put up another video telling a story. It’s an Animal Crossing Halloween poem that takes place in Luigi’s Mansion.

Have a great Halloween, and I’ll see you next time!
