Nintendo has provided me with an advance copy of Disney Magical World, which comes out on April 11th for Nintendo 3DS. It has some gameplay similarities to Animal Crossing, while also featuring over 60 Disney characters. I'll be writing about the game and providing regular updates as I progress through the game. Please share this blog with other Disney fans or anyone else who may be interested.
Day 8: Party Time
Last night, I recorded a few minutes of gameplay to let you all see what the game is like in motion. I show you my cafe (which isn't decorated very nicely yet, sorry), I talk to some villagers, and I show you how the fishing works. I actually recorded more, but the second part will be uploaded later this week. Anyway, here's the video. (

I then returned to Wonderland and went on an action quest, in search of a tea ingredient called an upside-down leaf. The stage was short, and I had no trouble beating the boss and obtaining the leaf. When I got back, I gave it to the Mad Hatter and March Hare, and they let me join them for tea. The Mad Hatter gave me a couple of new recipes I can use at my cafe.
Pass the sugar, please.
I was then asked by Doorknob to get some forest olive oil to prevent him from rusting.
I bet you always use that excuse.
This started another action quest, although it had a fishing hole right at the start. I did some fishing here, and many of the fish I caught gave me emerald bubbles. (There are bubbles for each birthstone, and this is the first time I've found the emerald ones). As I continued on, I couldn't help but notice how nice this level looks. There's a long bridge crossing a lake, and it's quite a contrast to the cave-like atmosphere of many previous action stages.
I
wonder where this leads.
One of the first few treasure chests gave me the wibbly-wobbly spoon that I need for Pooh's honeypot. As for the action, the challenge is starting to ramp up; this level seems to throw lots of enemies at you. But I beat the boss ghost and recovered the olive oil. I oiled Doorknob and I got my 32nd sticker for clearing a total of 15 episodes. However, I was still two stickers short of the 34 required for the next episodes in Wonderland, so I decided to check in on my cafe. My party meter has filled up, so that means I was able to host a party for the first time!
Everybody dance...NOW!
One of my requests was to hold a Stitch-themed party. I have several of the Stitch furniture items already in my cafe, but apparently I still need the counter and table. After checking at the workshop, I found out I need some sturdy oak branches to build them. There are many types of wood in the game, but furniture often requires a specific type. Apparently the oak branches can be found in Cinderella's early episodes, so I'll need to look for them next time.
By the way, the game comes out this Friday, April 11th. I'm going to be playing a lot before then, so I may be updating this blog every day this week. So stay tuned for more!
