100 Acre Wood

I was playing the game last night, working in my cafe…when the game froze and crashed. I didn’t lose much progress (only a few minutes worth), so it’s no big deal. Hopefully it won’t happen again.

I returned to Hawaii and started the third episode. It’s another action stage, but this one has some fishing spots in it. I soon earned the “Fishing Fun” sticker for catching five types of fish. After completing the episode, I met up with Lilo and Stitch, and we took a commemorative photo together.

A commemorative photo with Lilo and Stitch...and friends.

I also get a Lilo & Stitch puzzle frame, which earned me another sticker. But from now on, I’m probably not going to mention every sticker I earn. They seem to come in bunches early in the game like this, and I don’t want to bore you with the details of the less interesting ones.

When I returned to Castleton, there were three balloons in the plaza. I grabbed onto them, and they took me to Winnie the Pooh’s world of 100 Acre Wood!

Flying on balloons into Winnie the Pooh's world.

I floated over to Winnie himself, who was stuck dangling in a tree after his own balloon got stuck.

Pooh: I've been dangling here ever since.
Nobody enjoys a dangling Pooh.

After I helped him down, Pooh asked me to talk to all of his friends. So I met up with Eeyore, Tigger, Owl, Rabbit, and Piglet. The episode board for this world was then unlocked, allowing me to begin gardening for vegetables. Here’s a look at my tiny starting gardening space.

Should I crop this picture?

I completed two more episodes here, and just like in the first game, these episodes do not include action quests. They involve farming and fetch quests. They’re quite easy to complete, but they still seem tedious and time-consuming. Some of them have a lot of text to scroll through.

Tigger: We'll tie 'em all up with the ribbon!

One other note about 100 Acre Wood: A balloon allows you to quickly travel back and forth between your cafe and 100 Acre Wood. It’s very helpful for the times when you need to grow some crops for some dishes you’re trying to make.

Back in Castleton, I saw there was a new shop I could unlock. It turned out to be Minnie’s salon. She can change your hairstyle, hair color, eye color, and glasses. So if you’re tired of your character’s look, you can change it once you unlock Minnie’s salon.

Minnie Mouse: I can give you a new hairstyle, change your hair color...

You can also buy sparkles here: They make your character sparkle and shine, wherever you go. Different shapes of sparkles are available, and you’ll earn a new sticker for trying one on. I don’t really feel the need to sparkle, but here’s an example of what they look like (this one is called superstar sparkles).

To fulfill a cafe request, a I threw a Tangled themed party (after building some furniture to fit the theme). Rapunzel and Flynn both showed up, and we all danced on stage. I forgot to change the staff outfits to match the theme, but oh well. Flynn is so tall that he towers over me.

Come on, dance a little! Let your hair down.

I earned several miscellaneous stickers for working in the cafe, doing favors for residents, and making some furniture. I currently have a total of 38 stickers. See you next time!

Lilo & Stitch World

Now that I have 18 stickers, I was able to unlock the notice board. It gives you lots of helpful information such as which seasonal events are underway, how many greetings you can unlock at the castle, which stickers you can work on next, and even if your cafe is sold out of food. The notice board is also available from the main menu now, and unlocking it earned me my 19th sticker.

And with that, I now have the freedom to do whatever I want. Castleton has now shed its neutral tutorial look for the seasonal Halloween look.

The Halloween decorations in Castleon (Disney Magical World 2).

I did a favor for Mickey (all I had to do was give him a polka-dot tulip) and I earned my 20th sticker.

I spotted Stitch near the plaza, and he was talking about painting the beach to make it pretty. He ran off, and I followed him through this gate.

Stitch leads me to the gate to Hawaii.

I ended up in the Lilo & Stitch world (Hawaii)! Stitch was painting on all the buildings in town, and Lilo asked me to catch him and stop him. So I chased down the furry little vandal.

You need to brush up on your manners.

The episode board for this world was unlocked, so I chose the first episode. Lilo and Stitch then gave me a tour of the island. She showed me the beach, the surfboard shop, the spa, the entrance to the jungle, and Lilo’s house. While there, I met Dr. Jumba and Pleakley. After a chat with them, the episode concluded.

Pleakley: I specialize in mosquitoes! Earth is just so fascinating!

Back on the island, I met Duke and he gave me a swimsuit and a surfboard. I can now go swimming and even surfing!

Duke: Here, I'll give you a swimsuit.

How cool is that? Surfing can even earn you some nice points if you do well. After a few minutes of surfing, I returned to shore and earned a new sticker.

As I headed to the episode board, Letta appeared with a letter from Yen Sid. He sent me a new magic wand that will work better in the heat of Hawaii. I just wish I could shut Letta up. Her obnoxious voice seriously annoys me…I’d like to shred her.

I started the 2nd episode and began an action quest.

Shooting at ghosts in an action quest in the Hawaii world of Lilo & Stitch. After I completed it, Dr. Jumba gave me a recipe for the quest clothes for this world. I also earned a new sticker for choosing an episode from the episode board.

I returned to Castleton for some shopping and exploring. In McDuck’s, I bought a Halloween suit outfit and tried it on. That earned me the “Ace Ensemble Rookie” sticker for wearing five different ace ensembles.

But some items at McDuck’s can only be bought with friendship medals. The game gives me medals when other players visit my town, through StreetPass or the internet. I’ll talk more about this later on.

I went to Daisy’s boutique and handed over the recipe for the galactic quest outfit. Making a quest outfit earned me my 24th sticker.

Fulfilling a request at the cafe earned me yet another sticker. The stickers sure pile up early on, but they’ll become more difficult (and time-consuming) to acquire later on.

I was able to unlock the Magic Castle air service, and I met Bella and her dreamy twin sister Luna. Filling out my profile card earned me my 26th sticker. I then was able to activate StreetPass for this game.

I was also able to connect online and invite guests. It said I had five visitors and I earned five medals, but I don’t quite understand how this all works yet. I didn’t see anyone arrive. The in-game manual wasn’t clear on the subject either. But I may have more about it in a future entry.

I must say, the game is much more enjoyable now that I’m done with the tutorial. There are lots of things I want to do, but it’s easy to get distracted and just go with the flow. See you next time.

Jumba: Come, I will take you to the jungle.
Help.

Update: I found a person on my beach marked with an exclamation point on the map. I think this may be one of the online visitors. Perhaps players who have filled out their profile card will randomly show up in other towns? That’s my best guess so far.

Visitor: Have a great day! Also, after making and buying some outfits (and trying them all on), I earned the “Ace Ensemble Wiz” sticker for wearing 10 different ace ensembles. I also scored the “Accessory Admirer” sticker after acquiring 10 different accessories, and the “Fashion Superstar” sticker after adding an accessory to turn an ace ensemble into a super ace ensemble. I now have 29 stickers.

Crazy Magic Dreams

After leaving Daisy’s boutique, Letta flew by with some air mail from Master Yen Sid. He is the wizard that lives up in the tower. He asked me to pay him a visit in his tower. He put his beard out the window and I climbed it. Just kidding, I took the stairs.

He told me that ghosts are causing trouble, and he gave me a magic wand so that I could defeat them. Receiving the magic wand earned me a new sticker.

You got a sticker! Wanderful! So I wandered over to the castle vaults and participated in my first episode, called “Chip and Dale Need a Thing.” The chipmunks lost a cog from their machine, and they think a ghost stole it. So it was my job to go fight the ghosts and find their cog.

I then began the quest, which is essentially an action stage. I use my magic wand to shoot magic at the ghosts, and I recover various items along the way. This particular quest only had a few rooms, and it was quite easy to complete. I returned the cog to Chip and Dale and earned another sticker.

Dale: So a ghost had it after all, huh?

Chip and Dale told me that with the cog, they can now fix their machine and open their workshop. I headed there right away.

Dale: Didja know we make furniture here?

After paying them to make a Mickey chair for me, I earned my 14th sticker. Some new clothing recipes were unlocked, and my next task was to add an item to my material log and then go on another action quest to find the item I needed.

Goofy appeared and told me he lost his house keys!

Goofy: I went and lost my house keys!

Does that mean I have to fish in the river for it? Nah, an item being missing means that ghosts obviously took them. I completed the quest and returned Goofy’s keys.

Goofy: Ya sure ain't afraid of them ghosts, are ya?

Now he’s able to go inside his house. That saves him from having to pitch a tent in his garden. And nobody wants to see that.

Goofy: I mighta had to pitch a tent in my garden and live there instead!

In the quest stage, I acquired the thick cloth that I needed to make my Mickey chef outfit. So I returned to Daisy’s boutique and made it. That earned me yet another sticker.

My next task was to complete the third action quest. The king summoned me to ask me to find a missing cauldron that’s needed to open the cafe. So once again, I grabbed my wand and started busting some ghosts.

Once I was done, I returned the cauldron to the king, and in return, he gave me ownership of the cafe! That earned me sticker #16.

I quickly made my way over to the cafe. The cafe has something new this time: a stage. There were dancers dancing when I arrived, and the manager informed me that customers can dance.

Cafe manager: Not only can our customers eat and drink, but they can dance!

I had to choose a name for the cafe, and I went with Gobias. As in Gobias a cup of coffee. 😉 I made my first food item, a frothy caffè la-tea. The chancellor stopped by and became my first customer. After that, we officially opened for business!

Chancellor, eating: Why, this is delicious!

By checking cafe requests, I saw that people wanted snacks and sweets in addition to drinks. So my manager suggested some Whip-a-Dee waffles and fluffy puffy quiche. I fulfilled several more requests, which were mainly just mini-tutorials to teach me how to change staff clothes, furniture, and so on.

Once I maxed out the party gauge, I was able to hold a party! Mickey and Pluto showed up, and we were all able to dance on the stage.

When the party was over, I finally earned my 17th sticker. I returned home and found a dream book on my bed. I’m supposed to find puzzle pieces (by greeting characters with puzzle icons) to complete a dream puzzle. Mickey and his friends had some puzzle icons, so I greeted all of them to collect the pieces.

Returning to my bed allowed me to enter a magical dream!

Beginning to take a magic dream.

The dreams are bizarre and nothing like what I expected. I was not prepared for the psychedelic insanity I found here here. There are a variety of presents, each leading to an activity.

A crazy magic dream.

You may fly in a plane with Goofy, ride a flying bench with Minnie, drive in a flying car with Donald and Daisy, and more. During each activity, you can pose, change the camera angle, and of course, take lots of pictures.

You can collect lots of “nice” points in dreams, but otherwise they seem to be primarily just for fun…and pictures.

Minnie Mouse: My goodness! A flying bench! All sorts of crazy stuff in a magic dream in Disney Magical World 2. Once I ended the dream, I earned my 18th sticker. That completes the first sticker album, which is essentially a tutorial. Things should really open up next time, so stay tuned for more!
