Megaphone & Accessories

I started up the game to find my house expansion was completed. My house is now 8×8, so I have more room to space out my junk furniture.

My current house layout.Back outside, I found the daily money rock for 16,100 bells. I also saw some purple violets and put them next to my house.

Purple violets next to my house.I then headed over to the shopping district. Tom Nook told me I owe him 198,000 bells my house expansion. He’s going to have to wait, because I really want that Dream Suite!

Tom Nook: Yes, yes, the trifling cost of your addition comes to 198,000 bells. Pocket change, really.Construction had not yet started on Club LOL. One of my readers informed me that Club LOL takes about six days to build, so I guess I’ll have to wait until next week for some music and comedy.

I stopped in the T&T Mart, and there was a megaphone for sale! This is a new tool. If you’re looking for a certain animal, you use the megaphone and say their name. If they’re nearby, they will react with an emotion as if they heard you calling them. You can’t use it in the shopping district though.

Tommy: You can use the megaphone to call out to citizens who are strolling around outside! While still in the shop, I bought my two fortune cookies. Only one of them was a winner, but it was a good prize. A yellow Pikmin! Even though the word “hat” isn’t part of the item name, it is indeed a hat and not a captured yellow Pikmin running on a hamster wheel, for example. Although that would be pretty cool too…

Me trying on the yellow Pikmin hat.In the Able Sisters’ shop, I tried on an afro cap. I had no interest in buying it, but I wanted to see how it looked. Labelle said it looked great on me. She’s clearly lying.

Labelle: Wow, that flashy look is great on you.^They also had the moon and the stars for sale. But I tried on something else to go with my Pikmin hat; an eye patch!

Labelle: Wow, that rock 'n' roll look is great on you.Rock ‘n’ roll look? If you say so, Labelle. I think she’s just desperate to make a sale.

After coming back into town, I tried out my megaphone. I tried it with Aurora and Harry (when they were somewhat near me) and it worked; it got their attention. But if the animal is too far away, it won’t work. I decided to test it with an incomprehensible yell just to see what it did, and the result?

There aren't any snowmen around this time of year! That’s all for today, but be sure to check back tomorrow for another update!

Shrunk’s Petition

Late last night, I played some more New Leaf. I stopped into town hall and I caught Isabelle sleeping on the job!

Isabelle: But I was dreaming about work! I promise! But it’s not a problem at all, because in her dream, she was told to build a Dream Suite that lets people visit other people’s towns, even when they’re not online! So that got added to the list of projects I can choose from! Suite! I mean, sweet!

Isabelle: She wants us to put a Dream Suite on Main Street where you can take naps with vivid dreams! Cool, huh? This is something I definitely want, so I made this the current project right away. It may take me a while to earn all the bells it requires, but I’m going to work on it!

By the way, my cherry trees are now producing fruit. I sold 8 of the 9 cherries and planted the other one.

Cherries on my cherry trees!I then made a late-night trip to the island to catch some fish and bugs, and to grab some bananas. After I returned to the mainland, I planted a couple of bananas on the beach. I then sold some things at Nookling Junction T&T Mart and paid off my house.

I finished paying off my home loan! After that, I went to bed. When I started the game up today, I got quite a surprise waiting for me outside my door…it was Shrunk!

Shrunk: Ah, hey, you. You're the mayor of this town, right? He told me that he wanted to open up shop in the shopping district on Main Street. He wants to open a live venue that he calls Club LOL.

Shrunk: I call it Club LOL!
Please don’t call it that.

Why can’t it be called Club 444? Or Club 101? Even Club 90210 would be better! But even though I hate the name, I definitely would LOVE to see the club opened ASAP! But I needed signatures of six residents on the petition before it can become official…

Shrunk: I've already talked with the other shop owners, so all I need are 6 signatures from town residents! So I quickly went around and asked the first six villagers I could find: Big Top, Aurora, Harry, Tex, Katt, and Rory. They all agreed that it sounds like a great idea.

Big Top: You want to build a club on Main Street? I'd love to go see some shows, so count me in!I then hurried to the shopping district to hand the paper over to Shrunk. He said construction will start soon, but he can’t say when exactly it’ll be done. If I were to guess, I’d imagine the construction will be up tomorrow and then it’ll be done on Friday. But we’ll have to wait and see.

Shrunk: I'm not exactly sure when I'll be able to open to the public, though... I'll do my best to hurry. That’s great news! I’ve been dying to get some emotions and songs! When I was done talking to Shrunk, I went next door to Nook Homes. Tom Nook congratulated me on paying off my house and told me my next house expansion will be done tomorrow morning.

Tom Nook: The work will be fully completed by tomorrow morning. I'm so sure you must be very excited, yes, yes!I then headed over to T&T Mart for my two fortune cookies. I got fortunes #33 and #1. They were good for Pikmin and a mushroom mural, respectively. But before I returned home, I stopped in the Able Sisters and bought a deep blue tee.

Mabel: Oh my, you look marvelous!Once I got home, I put up my wallpaper and put my Pikmin down. Good thing my house is getting bigger tomorrow, because it’s getting kinda crowded in here!

The Pikmin item in my crowded house.I also made a stop at the train station. There are lockers here, where you can access your storage if you don’t have a dresser or closet in your house. It’s also convenient to use when traveling. By the way, your storage lets you hold a total of 18 pages, with 10 items on each page. So it can fit 180 items, which is bigger than the storage in City Folk (160 items).

Sign: The station lockers are free for anyone to use.And last but not least, I returned to the beach for some fishing, and to check on my banana trees I planted last night. It looks like they’re going to make it!

A thriving baby banana tree.Have a great day everyone, and I’ll be back with another update tomorrow! Thank you for stopping by!

T&T Mart

On my way to Main Street, I ran into Yuka. She was talking about memories.

Yuka: Do you ever get sad when an old memory resurfaces? It's funny. Even a good memory can make you cry.If even good memories can make you cry, then I hope I give you lots of good memories, Yuka.

Yuka: Of course we try to forget some of our most painful memories, but there's always one lurking. She then asked me how she looked. Muhahahahaha!

Yuka: Jeff, how do I look today?Once I was done annoying Yuka, I crossed the railroad tracks and checked out the new convenience store, T&T Mart.

The outside of T&T Mart, the convenience store on Main Street. On the inside, well…it looks a lot like Nook ‘n’ Go.

Tommy: Welcome! Welcome! Welcome to the grand opening of T&T Mart! Come on in!But instead of a Nook Point System machine like in City Folk, this machine gives you access to your catalog. You couldn’t access your catalog at Nookling Junction.

Thanks for using the Timmy & Tommy shopping catalog!Of course, T&T Mart has more items available for purchase than Nookling Junction. This also means you can now buy two fortune cookies each day, instead of one. So you may want to save four Play Coins each day for New Leaf once you’ve upgraded to T&T Mart.

Two fortune cookies on sale inside of T&T Mart.I redeemed my two fortunes for a fire flower and triple red shells. If you like collecting the Nintendo items in Animal Crossing games, you’re going to find it easier than ever in New Leaf. Depending on your point of view, that could be a good thing or a bad thing.

Back outside, Aurora told me she was looking for a furniture item to replace her snow globe. Coool, a snow globe? So I gave her a sewing machine that I found, and she loved it.

Aurora: Oh! A sewing machine is exactly what I needed!I thought this meant she was going to give me her snow globe…but no. Instead, she gave me a doghouse. That’s rough. Ruff ruff…

Aurora: Here's my doghouse! Thank you so much for helping me!I talked to Fuchsia, and I see that her catchphrase is now “uh-huh.” So Isabelle did indeed wash her mouth out with soap. 😛 I can just imagine… “Do you like the taste of this soap? Say uh-huh! Say it!”

Fuchsia: Jeff... You're lookin' at me weird, uh-huh!And then Katt asked me for a greeting that would change the impression she makes. Hahahaha, no greeting can overshadow that lovely face of yours, Katt.

Katt: You think there's some kind of greeting that would...completely change the impression I make?
