Rory’s Awkward Visit

Today, Aurora gave me a waffle tee. Do you like waffles? Yeah, I like waffles!

Trying on a waffle tee that Aurora sent me.I decided to wear it for a little while. Before long, Rory came up to me, wanting to get to my house right away! He wanted to come in for a quick visit.

Rory: All right then, get those knees up! Let's go!Once we got there, he asked if my sofa can fit two. Uhh, yeah…

Rory: You can seat two in your caterpillar sofa, right? And he wanted to talk about “technique.”

Rory: We could talk all about technique and share our training stories! And then he sneezed… I think…

Rory: Uh-oh... Something may have gone flying toward you. Sorry about that, J dog!Next, he started talking about muscles that you can’t see… At this point, I was feeling a bit uncomfortable and just wanted him out of my house.

Rory: The muscles you can't see are important too! Cold chill!Thankfully, he did leave after that. So I went to work a shift at the cafe. I got all of the customers’ orders perfect today, and Brewster gave me a fourth gyroid, the mega brewstoid. Here it is, on the far left:

My new mega brewstoid (left) completes my brewstoid gyroid collection from Brewster.Crazy Redd was in town today, so I went into his tent to see what he had for sale. I could tell the mystic statue he had was a fake, because it’s one I had bought before. As for the other three items, I ultimately decided on this ancient statue. This item was called a spaceman in City Folk.

Redd: Whoa! I see you've got eyes only for that ancient statue there! I'd say it has eyes for you too!As I continued my walk, I stopped to take a picture of the police station as seen from across the river. As you can see, it was a nice, clear night in Forest.

The moon and the clear night sky, as seen from across the river from the police station. And later on, I had earned enough money to pay off my latest house expansion. This time, I decided to add a room to the left; it will be done tomorrow.

Tom Nook: The new room will be added to the left side of the first floor, hm?

Sunday Afternoon Wi-Fi Session

Phineas was in my town again today, and this time he gave me the Catalog Maniac Bronze badge.

I got the Catalog Maniac Bronze badge! I've got a decent amount of things listed in my catalog! And instead of a money rock, I had a gem rock.

The ores I got from today's gem rock. Two of the gems were gold nuggets. I also had one gold nugget in storage, so I took the three of them to Re-Tail so Cyrus could turn them into a piece of golden furniture.

At 2:00, I opened my gate for a rare daytime Wi-Fi party. Tom and Olivia, both from England, were trying to come in, but they kept getting error messages. But Wendy, Annissa, and Valeria were able to come over to visit. I went into Re-Tail and saw that Cyrus was sleeping. I paid that punk to work! Wake up, you lazy bum!

Jeff, standing near Cyrus in Re-Tail: And he's sleeping! We headed over to the Roost for some coffee-to-go. Of course, you can’t actually drink the coffee while sitting at the table. So why even have a table??

Jeff: Y I NO CAN DRINKSo we did the only thing we can do: We whooped in our chairs.

Back outside, Valeria commented on how adorable Molly is. So we all gathered around her. Although it felt like a ghost passed right through me!

Wendy passes right through me.And for some reason, I felt like I should watch my back.

Wendy peers through the tree behind me to glare at me.Then we all started drinking our coffee. It looked like my town was full of coffee addicts.

All of us drinking coffee. We also took a look at my wind turbine.

Standing by my wind turbine.Valeria informed me that there was a lost item on the beach. After going down to get it, I talked to Molly and asked if it was hers. To my surprise, it was! It’s very rare for it to belong to the first person you ask. She gave me a straw shirt to thank me.

Molly: Oh! Good! I was wondering where I'd left this. Thank goodness you found it, waddle.Valeria left around 3:15, and Joey from Seasons came over about 10 minutes later. I think I’m going to start mentioning some players’ towns, so I can remember who’s who. Because I have at least two Joeys on my roster, and at least three Nicks.

A bit later, Annissa left. At the police station, Copper told me that my visitors better behave themselves! Preach it, Copper! 😛

Copper: It seems we have two visitors from out of town! They'd better behave themselves. We then headed off for the island, where we did a giant dragonfly tour. I caught a pet!

You caught a petI did awful at the tour, coming in last place. But we each won 20 medals for meeting the goal! Plus, we got bonus medals; I only got one bonus medal, but Wendy got 10 medals for coming in first place! That’s a total of 30 medals for her in one tour! Wow! But after that tour, it was 4:00 and Joey had to go, so I decided to end the party.

With the gate now closed, I went back to the Roost to work a shift. I had two out-of-towners today, Olivia and Naomi. What is with Naomi’s neon pink sideburns??

Naomi: I'll have a coffee, please. Kilimanjaro roast!Since the out-of-towners actually told me how they wanted their coffee, I was able to get everyone’s orders perfect again today. Brewster gave me superb coffee beans once again. After that, I went to Re-Tail to check on my golden furniture. It was completed, but it was another golden clock! The same thing he made me last time! Ugh!

I express sadness that Cyrus built me another golden clock. But I had a plan to get Rolf to buy my beans. Somehow he knew!

Rolf: Did you come to the shop today to sell something? Is that your plan? But he still fell for it! Thanks, sucker! (Just kidding, Rolf. You’re a good friend).

Rolf: Hey! Some superb coffee beans! And you're the one selling the item? Maybe I'll have to buy it from you! That’s all for today, but I’ll be back with more tomorrow!

Bug-Off & Silver Can

Today was the day of the Bug-Off competition. Because of that fact, Brewster wouldn’t let me work at the Roost today. But outside of the cafe, I saw Rolf walk up to a bug on a tree with his net drawn. He actually stood there in this position for several seconds without moving.

Rolf with his net pulled back, ready to catch a bug.To my surprise, he eventually did swing the net. He missed the bug of course, but it was nice to see the attempt.

Nearby, I saw Phineas! He brought me my tenth badge, the Good Host badge for having lots of visitors to my town.

I got the Good Host badge! I want my town to make people want to come visit! My town tree told me that I’ve had 54 visitors so far, so apparently it takes 50 to get the Good Host badge. Interestingly enough, beating all of your visitors with a toy hammer doesn’t hurt your chances of being considered a good host. 😉

After that, I decided to try catching some bugs for the Bug-Off. I caught a Miyamoto miyama stag, which gave me the lead with Nintendo 64 points. Nat took it and gave me a wooden box as a reward.

Nat: For your prize, let's see now... I'll give you this rather smashing wooden box in return! As I continued my walk around town, I saw my first Jacob’s ladder! It was next to my pyramid.

My first Jacob's ladder, near my pyramid.I took my daily fossils up to Blathers, and for once, I had a new one! It completed the archelon.

Blathers: Hoo hoo! This mean...! Yes, oh my! The Archelon is at last complete!I looked around saw that I only need two more fossils to complete my collection.

In the garden shop part of T.I.Y., I bought some flower seeds (as I usually do), and Leif told me I get a happy bonus today!

Hold up, Jeff. Your purchase today comes with a happy bonus! It’s a silver watering can! It can water five squares at once. This will definitely come in handy.

Leif: It's a silver can! You can use it to water many plants at once.

After that, I resumed my bug hunt. I caught a jewel beetle and took it to Nat. It was good for 80 points, which broke my own record. He rewarded me with a butterfly wall. Unfortunately, it’s pretty ugly. I couldn’t bear to open my eyes to look at it.

The butterfly wall I got from Nat during the Bug-Off.I also caught a cyclommatus stag, but I didn’t want to give it to Nat unless I had to. So I waited until 5:59, and saw that my jewel beetle still was the record-holder. So I hung on to my cyclommatus stag, and went into Nat’s tent for the awards ceremony. Yay, first place!

Standing atop the Bug-Off winners podium at the ceremony. Tex got 2nd place and Molly got 3rd place. After that, I decided to visit Club Tortimer. The first island I visited had nobody there but me. So I went back and tried again; this time, there was someone named Jo from the U.K.  We caught some bugs and fish, and did some diving. But after 15 minutes or so, I had to go, so I said goodbye.

Jo: Nice meeting ya.That’s all for today, but I’ll be back tomorrow with some Wi-Fi fun. Remember, I’ll be opening my gate at 7:00 p.m. London time. I hope some of the Europeans on my roster are able to make it.
