Trading with Big Top

Yesterday, theanimaldude55 reminded me that I never showed the fairy-tale clock that Aurora suggested last Thursday. So this is what it looks like:

Fairy-tale clock PWP: 78,000 bells. This evening, I found a second gold rose near my house.

My 2nd gold rose, near my house. And just a few feet away, Big Top suggested a new PWP: a water pump.

Big Top: Hey, I had an idea. How about commissioning a water pump in town?!It’s always nice to have new projects suggested, even if they’re not all that exciting. This is what the water pump looks like:

Water pump PWP: 42,000 bells.Over by my video screen, Rolf told me to shut up and take his comfy sweater. Uhhh, okay.

Rolf: But just shut up and take my comfy sweater! And I talked to Big Top again, and he had an offer for me. He wanted to trade his tape deck for my silver nugget.

Big Top: So how about trading your silver nugget for my tape deck? That’s not a very good deal for me, but I decided to be nice and make the trade. He did suggest a new PWP for my town, after all. But Big Top didn’t appreciate my generosity, as he claimed we were trading treasure for treasure. Not quite, bud.

Big Top: Yesssss! Trading treasure for treasure is a win-win for both of us!After I finished watering my flowers and doing my shopping, I decided to install my zen bell. I chose to put it in the northeast corner of town, right above my brick bridge.

The spot I picked out for my zen bell. It's near the edge of a cliff and close to my brick bridge.I immediately paid off the zen bell, and it will be completed tomorrow. I’ll see you then!

Isabelle: We've met our collection goal for the zen bell project! It should be complete tomorrow!

First Gold Rose

Today I went to check out my newly expanded right-side room (with the modern wood furniture).

My newly expanded modern wood room.I only have one more room that needs to be expanded (my back room). When I went outside, I found that one of my black roses has turned into my first gold rose. I didn’t even realize it was wilted yesterday, but it must have been.

My first golden rose!I talked to Aurora and she told me that she had a fight with Benedict!

Aurora: You know, Benedict and I had a fight...But she wanted to apologize, so she asked me to take a gift over to Benedict for her. I agreed, and I quickly found Benedict. He accepted the gift and thanked me by giving me a piece of candy.

Benedict: Take my candy as a reward for your trouble! That was an unusual reward. I decided to put it in storage for now, in case it will come in handy for one of the holiday festivals.

I ran into Rolf, and he suggested a new public works project (PWP): a zen bell!

Rolf: You should talk about funding a zen bell!I’ve seen the zen bell on island tours, and I like it a lot. Mainly because you can actually ring the bell. Most town projects aren’t interactive for some reason, so this is a refreshing departure from the norm. This is what it looks like:

Zen bell PWP: 86,000 bells. At only 86,000 bells, it’s quite affordable too. I plan on installing it soon. I’m just not sure where I’m going to put it.

Note: I’ve updated the QR Codes page with a pattern for a red heart jumper, submitted by Beth. Thanks, Beth!

Molly Comes to Visit

Your villagers in Animal Crossing: New Leaf will sometimes tell you to take a rest and they encourage you not to play very long. And yet, animals will sometimes invite themselves to your house, but say it can’t be before a certain time…usually over an hour away! If you don’t want me playing so long, then why are you requiring me to wait over an hour to have you over to my house?

That’s what Molly did to me today. So I kept the 3DS on so that I was ready for her visit at 6:30 today. When she entered my house, she commented that my wheat field must keep the air in my house fresh. Interesting. I had no idea that wheat fields could be used as air fresheners. I’ll have to try planting some wheat in my bathroom.

Molly: No wonder the air feels so fresh! Your wheat field must help keep it clean. When she went into my modern wood room and faced north, she was almost camouflaged!

Molly the brown duck blends in with my brown furniture.I showed her every room of my house and she eventually left. I should be getting a letter in the mail from her tomorrow.

But for now, I did some fishing in the river. After a few trips back and forth, I earned enough money to finish paying off my latest house expansion. I chose to expand my modern wood room, and it will be done tomorrow.

Tom Nook: The work will be fully completed by tomorrow morning. I'm so sure you must be very excited, yes, yes!Later on, Wendy came over for a short visit. Wendy has Eugene as one of her villagers, and I often joke about killing him (don’t ask). 😛 But I noticed that I could easily fit his body into this polka dot dresser. Maybe I could even start a koala collection; I could try fitting Yuka and Canberra into it as well…

Jeff, looking at a polka-dot dresser: I could fit Eugene in this. After she was done shopping, we went out to the island and played the official item-matching tour. We earned a Gold Tortimer award and 8 medals.

Tortimer: For your AMAZING performance, you've earned a Gold Tortimer award and 8 medals! But I have a question. Are these Tortimer awards real? I don’t know of any way to see which Tortimer awards you’ve earned. Is there a way to see them or is it all a hoax? I’m guessing it’s the latter…just like my supposed snack bar.

Anyway, we caught some bugs (and I caught a shark as well) before heading back to Forest. I sold my catches and I earned 37,050 bells.
