Basement Fully Expanded

Today, I got my serene painting in the mail from Crazy Redd. And also, my basement was expanded to the full 8 x 8 size.

My final basement expansion.Soon after stepping outside, Rolf invited me over to his tree house.

Rolf: All right! We're all ready! Let's get going! Up a tree! After hanging out for a while, he eventually asked me if there was anything in his house I wanted. I headed straight to the basic painting. He sold it to me for 3,130 bells.

Rolf: Oh, hey! You're checking out my basic painting! Wow, you have some great taste!Unfortunately, it turned out to be a fake! I need to stop buying paintings from this guy! He’s done this before.

Blathers: Oh dear! Upon closer examination, I have grave news to share with you, Jeff! It's a fake!Note: As Benjamin pointed out to me in the old comment section, that basic painting was the one I gave Rolf for his birthday! So I should have remembered! Oops!

However, my serene painting from Crazy Redd was real. So that softened the blow.

Serene painting title: Lady with an Ermine. After updating my dream town, Luna told me that Erika from Celadon recently enjoyed a dream visit. So if you’re reading this, Erika, hello!

Luna: According to the latest feedback, a client named Erika from Celadon enjoyed your dream. In the Able Sisters’ shop, there was a purple-imp hood for sale. I’m trying to save clothes and accessories for Gracie’s fashion checks, and I needed a “flashy” hat to add to my collection. So I bought it.

Labelle: Oh wow! So flashy and so wonderful!Back in town, Molly asked me to catch a sweetfish for her. I did, and she gave me an A tee in return.

Molly: It's an A tee. Thanks again for your help! It means a lot to me.And my last stop of the day was Aurora’s house. I hadn’t seen her outdoors, so I went to say hello. But I kept hearing a cat meowing in her house. I wondered if it was something she was cooking for dinner. And I didn’t see a TV on, either. At least, not at first. But then I found it, up on the wall. It was a TV show with a cat chasing a mouse; it must be the Nintendo version of Tom & Jerry.

Alli’s Last Day in Forest

Today I received the sleek items I ordered yesterday (from the SpotPass home in the Happy Homes Showcase). My sleek room still isn’t complete, but it is coming together quite nicely. I will need to expand this room further once I get the whole set.

My sleek furniture room (work in progress). And outside by my house, a third black rose has appeared.

Three black roses among my other flowers.Crazy Redd’s tent was in town today, and I’m feeling pretty confident about this serene painting.

Redd: I see! Ya seem to be really close to that serene painting, yeah?I fell into a pitfall in front of the video screen, so I had to suffer through an entire Tom Nook infomercial!

Me struggling in a pitfall in front of the video screen that's showing an advertisement for Nook's Homes. And Alli was all packed up and ready to go. So I made one last trip into her house to say goodbye.

Alli: And I've made up my mind. It's time for me to leave Forest. And back outside, I ran into Rolf. He suggested a new public works project: a zen garden!

Rolf: It's nothing serious. I'm just thinking it's about time we got a nice zen garden here. This is what it looks like:

Zen garden PWP: 148,000 bells.I like it; I may install it sometime (but not right away).

The money I earned today allowed me to make another house payment. I chose to expand the basement again; Tom Nook will complete it by tomorrow.

Tom Nook: The work will be fully completed by tomorrow morning. I'm so sure you must be very excited, yes, yes!And in T.I.Y., the Nooklings seemed to be serving lunch! But why was it sitting on the floor?

A lunch tray on sale in the Nooklings' shop, sitting on the floor! After finishing my shopping, I wrapped up my day in New Leaf. But I have a video to share with you all. It’s a slideshow featuring many of my best New Leaf pictures taken in the month of August. Check it out!

Passing Gracie’s Fashion Check

Tonight, Big Top suggested a new public works project: a balloon arch!

Big Top: Hey, I had an idea. How about commissioning a balloon arch in town?!And this is what it looks like:

Balloon arch PWP: 86,000 bells. In a way, I kind of like it. It’s certainly festive.

As I continued my walk, I spotted Tabby outside. YES! This is my chance! I pitfall’d her!

Tabby looks very angry after being pushed into a pitfall.Eventually, I made my way up to the Happy Homes Showcase. A new SpotPass home was there, belonging to Ray from Jojo. His main room was…interesting.

Dolls, a bear, and a spaceman lined up in the SpotPass home of Ray from JojoBut the main reason I came was for the sleek room. Not so much to see it, but to order from it. I ordered the sleek wall, sleek dresser, and sleek closet.

Alli: Oh, that's right! I ordered a banana! And Gracie was over by the town tree, wanting to see an “official” look. I thought my cafe uniform might work, and I also put on my brown formal pants, dress socks, and tasseled loafers. But Gracie won’t judge you without an accessory on your head. I thought I would just try anything, just to see if she said everything else was acceptable. That “anything” was a yellow Pikmin, in fact. But to my absolute shock, she said I nailed the look!

Gracie: I can tell you were listening when I gave you that theme, 'cause you completely nailed it, honey! That’s right, I passed the fashion check! How is a Pikmin head “official?” I don’t get it at all, but I’ll gladly take it. Here’s a better look at my outfit:

My "official" look wearing a cafe uniform, brown formal pants, dress socks, tasseled loafers, and a yellow Pikmin hat.So now I’m 25% of the way to getting the final Nookling expansion. But she also gave me a sweets player as a reward. Even though I don’t care for the sweets furniture, I needed a small music player for my upstairs room anyway.
