Famous Mushroom

This morning, I found Joan selling turnips for 110 bells apiece. That’s a little high, but I still wanted to buy some. But because of the amount of money I was carrying, I was only able to buy 900 of them instead of my usual 1,100. (And I didn’t have time to get more money out of the bank).

Joan: So 900 turnips comes out to be... 99,000 bells altogether. Do you wanna buy them?Later on this evening, Big Top tried to tell me he was moving out on March 21st. His request was promptly denied.

Big Top: What?! Now, how can I leave after hearing you beg me like that?I was having a bad luck day today; I kept falling on my face.

Smashing my face on the bridge.A message posted on the bulletin board pointed out that tomorrow is St. Patrick’s Day. Of course the game calls it Shamrock Day, but that’s a start. St. Patrick’s Day wasn’t recognized at all in earlier Animal Crossing games, aside from a shamrock hat DLC item sent out for City Folk in 2009.

~ Notice ~ Tomorrow is Shamrock Day! You might get pinched if you don't wear green, so prepare early!Up at the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Lil Tina from WarmArms was my most recent dream visitor.

Luna: According to the latest feedback, a client named Lil Tina from WarmArms enjoyed your dream. And over by my tree stump (the one I cut down Friday night to do the glitch), I found a famous mushroom!

A famous mushroom on the ground by my tree stump.I took it over to my lighthouse and ate it. Yum!

A giant-sized Mohawk McClover next to the lighthouse. That’s all for today, but I’ll be back with more tomorrow. Hope to see you then!

March Fishing Tournament

I got two letters in the mail today. One was a musical letter from Squishy, and she sent me a blue rose. Thanks, Squishy! The other was from Rolf, and he sent me a blue nightcap…just like the one you wear when you dream of other towns at theĀ Dream Suite! Despite how it may look, it didn’t actually make me tired.

A sleepy-looking Jeff tries on the blue nightcap.A message posted on the town bulletin board said that cherry blossoms will bloom on April 1st. So that will be something to look forward to.

And today was the day of the fishing tournament. I spoke with Agent S, and she was using her indoor voice. Or at least, her indoor font size.

Agent S: You're not gonna catch any fish if you don't, you know, GO FISHING. That's, like, science.Chip was looking for the biggest horse mackerel, and I was having a tough time beating Teddy’s record of 17.20 inches. With only six minutes to go, I tweeted that it wasn’t looking good. But I didn’t give up. And with just three minutes to go, I caught a 17.35 inch fish and quickly took it to Chip. It put me in first place!

Chip: Mmm-hmm. I'd say it looks to be... 17.35 inches!Chip rewarded me with a marine pop wall. And now, time was on my side. Teddy wasn’t able to beat my fish, and I won the tournament! Teddy won second place of course, and Agent S got third place.

Standing on the winner's podium after a fishing tournament win. After the ceremony, Teddy congratulated me on the win. He was a good sport about it.

Teddy: Congratulations! J bear, the famous fisherbro! You're quite the worthy rival!I also saw Big Top, who has finally recovered from his cold. He thanked me for the medicine and he gave me a space captain’s seat.

Big Top: Did you catch my cold? I got better right after you left, so I was worried you caught it.Agent S was telling me all about a dream she had.

Agent S: And I ate some borscht off a lily pad! Can you believe it, J bear?Agent S: Wait... That's sorta gross, isn't it?I went up to the museum to put my new trophy in my trophy room. I also stopped to look at my “T” collection.

A view of my villager pictures from above.Haha, of course those are just my duplicate villager photos, viewed from above. I also put my new marine pop wall up in one of my other exhibit rooms.

The marine pop wall.At the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Melissa from the town of Newleaf was my most recent dream visitor. And I decided to take a dream myself, to Wendy’s town Oakville.

Last night, Kim and I were pondering if there were any other public works projects taller than the lighthouse to glitch onto. The one that came to mind? A geyser. Sure, the water isn’t a solid surface that you could logically stand on. But still, I wanted to try it out. So in Wendy’s dream town, I glitched onto her geyser. Unfortunately, the water didn’t push me up; it just went right through me.

Glitching through a geyser. After exploring Oakville (and avoiding Eugene), I woke up to resume my game in Forest. After 8:00, I went up to Club LOL to hear K.K.’s Saturday night performance. He played Agent K.K. for me.

K.K.: Enough tuning--let's groove. This next one is for you, Jeff. It's called Agent K.K.

Green Gang Glitching

Tonight, Tia reminded me of tomorrow’s fishing tournament. She also talked about trying out some new fish recipes. She then asked if I liked butterscotch! Not on fish!

Tia: I'm already planning on trying some exciting new fish recipes for dinner tomorrow. D'you like butterscotch?Big Top was still sick today, so I gave him medicine once again. Crazy Redd was in town with some art to sell, but three of his paintings were already in my museum, and I knew the other one was a fake. So I didn’t buy anything from him this time.

At Re-Tail, I had a cushion customized with the Animal Crossing logo.

An Animal Crossing cushion. And up at the Dream Suite, Luna told me George from Unova was my most recent dream visitor.

At 10:00, I opened my gate for Friday Night Forest. Kim came over to visit, dressed all in green. She informed me that she was a tree.

Kim: I'm a tree.We had our usual hammer fight (green-on-green violence).

Toy hammer fight! We hung out in my house and made a few SMH acronyms.

Jeff: Skeletons may hide. And we then started doing some glitching. Kim wasn’t the only tree in town.

Jeff: I AM THE GREAT DEKU.I also glitched onto the pyramid, but Kim had trouble getting up there. The game won’t let you go up to the top though; this is as high as I could climb.

Standing on the pyramid. And then we both glitched onto the lighthouse. I never got to do the lighthouse glitch in ACCF, so at least I got to do it in New Leaf. Unfortunately, I could only see myself on top (and Kim could only see herself on top). To me, Kim appeared inside the base of the lighthouse. It looked like the lighthouse had a face.

Standing on a lighthouse with a face.I then saved the game to kill us both.

Passing out and dying by the lighthouse. The instant that we came back to life (shortly after 11 p.m.), Squishy came over to visit. She was also dressed in green. She and Kim looked like they were doing impressions of the Statue of Liberty.

Squishy and Kim holding up toy hammers to the sky. After a quick fight, we took our green gang (or is that Gang Green?) up to Main Street to cause some trouble. First, we beat up an ugly blue koala.

Beating up Yuka with toy hammers. And then we took our anger out on the Emporium for being closed at such an early hour.

Hitting the Emporium with toy hammers. We also did the same to Able Sisters and Shampoodle. You can tell Squishy means business by the look on her face!

Attacking Able Sisters. After a while, Kim left. Squishy and I were acting derpy in my house.

Me and Squishy acting derpy on a sofa. (GIF)And before long, Georgie came over to visit.

Squishy and I act surprised when Georgie enters the house.Because the United States started Daylight Saving Time last weekend, I was playing at a different hour relative to Squishy and Georgie–Squishy is in the U.K. and Georgie is in Australia. I especially felt bad for Squishy, because she stayed up until 3 a.m. to visit, when I was open an hour before that. It will be this way for the next two weeks too, so for Squishy and any other Brits on my roster that want to visit, my opening time will be 2 a.m. instead of 3 a.m. for you the next two weeks.

And a few minutes later (around midnight), T-Zelda came over to visit. Some of my long-time readers/Youtube viewers will remember her from my ACCF videos and blog. This was her first time visiting me in New Leaf, however. We all did the tree stump glitch, where all four of us occupied the same space. We used a bunch of emotions and it looked pretty funny. Here are a few pictures I took:

Tree stump glitch.Squishy: Octopus.Doing the tree stump glitch. All of us glitching.Tree stump glitching. We went on a couple of bug-catching tours, and T-Zelda won them both.

Tortimer: T Zelda gets 10 medals, Jeff gets 4 medals. We then returned to Forest and I ended the party for the night. Before shutting my game off, an owl let me know there was a new message posted on the bulletin board. This is what it said:

Jeff smells. -Georgie from HyruleThanks to all who visited, I had a good time tonight! Have a great weekend everyone, and I’ll see you next time!
