Molly’s Birthday

Today, Pete met me outside my door to give me a letter from Nintendo.

Pete: I have an express delivery for you from Nintendo. This clay furnace was attached to the letter.

A clay furnace. And today is March 7th, which is Molly’s birthday! So I went to her house to wish her a happy birthday, where she was celebrating with Kidd.

Molly: Yes, you came to celebrate with me! I'm so glad you're here, mayor.I gave her a customized robo-bed for a birthday present, and she seemed to like it.

Molly: This is just what I expected from you, mayor. Thank you for such a great gift! But I’m not sure Kidd completely understood the concept of a birthday. He said he was grateful to Molly for being born today. For one thing, she was hatched, not born. And it wasn’t today, it was on this date. There’s a difference, Kidd.

Kidd: I'm grateful to Molly for being born today and to you for coming here to celebrate with me!I saw Tia outside, and she seemed to be enjoying the new town ordinance.

Tia: Since the town ordinance went into effect, the flowers in my yard seem much happier!I went up to the Dream Suite to update my dream town, and Luna told me that Natalie from Seahaven was my most recent dream visitor. Also, my dream visitor count has topped 4,000 now! Thank you all for visiting!

Luna: Records state the number of clients who have experienced a dream about Forest is 4,004.Later on, I let Rina come over to buy the fertilizer from my Emporium.

Rina shops for fertilizer. While she was here, she told me that turnips were selling for 629 bells in her town! So she let me stop over and sell my turnips.

Reese: Well then...I could probably part with 691,900 bells for all of it, if that sounds OK with you? Thanks, Rina! I also let Luke come over to get an aurora screen I had for him. He offered me a royal crown, but I turned it down. I did try it on, though.

Trying on Luke's royal crown. After he left, I deposited my turnip money into the bank and my balance topped nine million bells for the first time.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Rooster of Barcelos

I got a letter in the mail from Gulliver today. He went thrift shopping in Portugal and I got a big Rooster of Barcelos from him.

The Rooster of Barcelos I got from Gulliver.I saw a few butterflies flying around outside, and I decided to catch them. I didn’t need them or anything, but sometimes butterflies are hard to resist. That decision actually paid off when Molly offered me a robo-bed for a common butterfly.

Molly: So would you consider trading your common butterfly for my robo-bed?It’s nice to have a trade with a villager that’s actually in my favor for a change. And that’s why it’s not a bad idea to carry around a worthless bug or two if you have the pocket space.

Teddy pinged me, telling me how his friend told him about the stadium light in his town. I couldn’t believe it! Teddy has a friend? Just kidding. But Teddy suggested that we build one in Forest too.

Teddy: Hey, mayor! You're the mayor. Fund a stadium light! This is what it looks like. At least, when it’s not lit up.

Stadium light: 236,000 bells. At the Dream Suite, Luna told me Finnian from Hyrule was my most recent dream visitor.

Luna: According to the latest feedback, a client named Finnian from Hyrule enjoyed your dream. And when I returned to town, I saw Saharah. I paid her to redecorate my house and she trashed the place!

A shanty wall and ramshackle floor. She installed a shanty wall and a ramshackle floor! Are you kidding me? You couldn’t make a wall and floor look worse if you tried! She really ripped me off this time.

That wrapped up my day in Forest, but I’ve put together a slideshow of pictures I took in the month of February. Here’s a look at it:

Completing the Aquarium

Late last night, I gathered up my remaining duplicate Pave furniture and sold it. In total, I earned 442,800 bells. This easily kicked my bank balance back up over eight million bells. (It temporarily dropped below 8 million when I started buying gorgeous furniture last month).

Your current balance is 8,410,000 bells. While I was on Main Street, I decided to take a new photo ID. I edited out the birthday part (since my character doesn’t have the same birthday as me anyway), but otherwise this is how it looks:

My ID card.I decided to do some diving, and I found a scallop. Pascal popped up, and I gave him the scallop in exchange for a ship cannon.

Pascal: I've seen people excuse their dogs when they get into the garbage, but never their kids. What's up there? But a scallop wasn’t the reason I was diving. It’s because I was looking for a spider crab…and I found one! And that completes my diving collection!

I've completed my diving collection! I'm a diving master now!I donated it to the museum, and Blathers confirmed that this completes the aquarium! Awesome!

Blathers: How wonderful! We can now call our aquarium complete. Thank you from the depths of my heart! And then today, a message posted on the bulletin board confirmed that the beautiful town ordinance is now in effect. Being a big night owl, I have mixed feelings about this. But not having to water flowers will be a huge help, although I can guarantee there are going to be times when I go to sell something and the shops will be closed and I’ll be kicking myself. 😛

~ Forest News ~ Forest established the Keep Forest Beautiful ordinance starting today!

But this isn’t permanent. Once the rainy season starts in June, I’ll switch back and keep a night owl town throughout the summer.

I spoke with Teddy, and he asked me to shake some peach trees for him.

Teddy: I'm sure your arms will be throbbing in no time! But I just gave him a perfect peach out of my pocket, and he loved it. He rewarded me with a patchwork lamp.

Teddy: Yummahumma! As I crossed my brick bridge, Agent S again told me she wanted to move out of town on March 10th. I made her stay, of course, but she looked a bit different in this picture.

Agent S: Probably on the 10th of this month. Seems like super-good timing for me, up up away.Of course, that was actually Phineas standing there behind her. I’m seeing Phineas a lot lately! Today, he gave me the Prof. of Seafood badge for catching all of the underwater creatures.

I got the Prof. of Seafood badge! Everyone agrees I'm an expert on all things under the sea!Even though it’s only been a few days since I posted a picture of my badges, this is my third badge since then! So it was time for another updated pic:

My badge collection as of March 5, 2014.If you compare this to my last badge pic, this is what’s changed: The seafood icon has gone from silver to gold, the Re-Tail icon has gone from bronze to silver, and the train icon is new.

I did some spring cleaning today. The Pave duplicates from last night are gone, but I also cleaned up my leftover feathers and I even removed those extra ores that have been sitting by Re-Tail for a while. I also moved my (non-duplicate) Pave set to the museum and redecorated my modern wood room. It still has the same items, but they’re in different places now.

With all that done, I updated my dream town. While I was there, Luna told me that Bella from Bochum was my most recent dream visitor.

When I went down to the beach, I saw Gulliver there. He’s on his way to Portugal, and he’s going to send me a gift in the mail tomorrow.

Gulliver: I heard my great-great-great-great-grandseagull Gulliver St. Gullivive explored most of the world himself!I wrapped up my day with a couple of island trips. The first was to my own island, where I bought the cabana screen. The wallpaper is now the only cabana item I still need for my giveaway. I then went to a random Club Tortimer island, where I met a girl…I believe her name was Kaitlyn, though I might have spelled it wrong.

Kaitlyn and me on a Club Tortimer island. We went on one official labyrinth tour–she had all six of her fruit collected in barely over a minute! But I searched and searched and I could never find my third lemon I needed, so we lost. I had to go, so I apologized and told her I had to leave. As I was leaving, she said “buddy nooo!” It was too late for me to type anything else, but that made me feel bad. Sorry!
