Last night, I was contacted by Vicky, who saw my post about the cherry-blossom clock being the DLC for April. She asked if it was a regional thing, and apparently it was. She told me she got the Aries rocking chair instead, so I offered to trade with her. We plan on trading future DLC items as well. Here’s a look at the Aries rocking chair:
Then today, Kidd suggested a new public works project: a chair sculpture.
I went to town hall to take a look at it, and it looks like a boot that you sit on. There’s no way I’d put this in my town, unless it was next to an ugly villager’s house to represent me kicking him or her out of town.
Up at the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Emily from Lunaland was my most recent dream visitor.
And later on, I went to Ramcat’s town of Pokeland. He was the winner of the cabana furniture set giveaway, so I dropped off his winnings tonight.
Update: America got the Aries rocking chair a year later, in March 2015.
Unfortunately, my former villager Katt has started appearing up on Main Street.
And at my event plaza, I noticed several pink trees in one area, including my town tree.
Nan approached me with a new nickname, Mr. J. Is she calling me the Joker? I know one thing for sure, Nan is no Harley Quinn.
Up at the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Jessica from Petalbrg was my most recent dream visitor. And when I went to visit Agent S, she was talking about signing autographs and handing out photos of herself. Thanks, but I just got your photo yesterday!
I put up a couple of T. Zelda’s Mario Kart designs in my house. Here’s a look at Toad and Luigi. If you haven’t seen already, you can get the codes for these designs and more on the QR Codes page.
Molly told me she was going to move out of town on April 6th! But of course, I wouldn’t allow it.
And back over by the town tree, Skye asked me to catch a tadpole for her. The interesting part? She said it’s the most beautiful fish in the world. Uhh… it’s not a fish, for one thing. And beautiful? Really?
Fortunately, the very first holding pond I checked had a tadpole in it, so it was an easy task to complete.
I returned to Skye and gave her the tadpole. She rewarded me with a nine-ball tee. Exciting.
That wrapped up my day in town. But a lot of you are looking forward to finding out the winner of the cabana furniture set. I took all of the entries and pasted them into a spreadsheet, and then I went to random.org to generate a random number to select a winner. It came up with #9, and I checked my spreadsheet and saw that the winner is: Carmen T!
Congratulations to Carmen. I’ve already contacted him and I’m going to drop off the furniture set in his town tomorrow.
I will have more giveaways, so stay tuned. The next one will be for villager pictures, and it will have three winners (since I have multiple duplicates of some pictures). My first two giveaways were on Tumblr and Facebook, so this next one will likely be on Twitter. (You’ll always be able to enter on JVGS also, though). If you have a Twitter account (or decide to make one soon), please follow @jvgsjeff.
Thank you all for reading. I’ll see you next time!
April 1st is April Fool’s Day of course, but it also brings some other changes. In particular, some trees are now pink. It definitely gives the town a springtime feeling.
And being a new month, there is new DLC available at the post office. Talk to Pelly or Phyllis and you can pick up a cherry-blossom clock. It can be re-ordered from the catalog for 4,160 bells.
April Fool’s Day means villagers will try to play jokes on you. Big Top told me Forest was changing its name to Water Bottleville.
Rolf’s prank was a bit more believable: He told me the Able Sisters have a younger brother named Gable. Maybe we’ll see him selling gloves in the next game! 😛
This area near my house had three new black roses! I didn’t even use any fertilizer! I wish hybrids were this easy in City Folk.
Once I got to the event plaza, I saw that the town tree also has pink leaves now. Pretty cool.
That’s where I ran into Blanca.
Unlike in previous Animal Crossing games, you don’t have to draw her a face in New Leaf. Instead, she’s the ultimate prankster. She will disguise herself as your other villagers and appear with them in their houses.
You have to figure out which one is real and which is fake. They will make opposing statements about their hobby, number of siblings, favorite quote, or birthday. After they’ve both made their statement, you are asked if you know who is the real villager. If you say no, you can try again with a different set of statements.
Once you know (or once you’re ready to guess), you are given a cloth and you’re told to hand it to who you think is the impostor. The animal you hand it to will then wipe off his or her face. If your choice was correct, Blanca’s true form will be revealed.
A correct decision will also result in the villager giving you his or her picture. In this case, I got Agent S’s pic!
Blanca will then move from one villager’s house to another. If Blanca isn’t in a house you go in, you’ll just get the villager trying to play a joke on you.
When I went into Tia’s house, I saw two steaming teapots!
One of the Tias told me her hobby was blowing bubbles. I figured that was the fake one. However, when it came time to had the towel, I forgot I was supposed to give it to the fake one; I accidentally gave it to the real one without realizing it until it was too late.
Seeing two Mollys was almost a cuteness overload.
And the faces they make when they are waiting for you to make your decision is pretty funny.
After playing the game in each of my villagers’ houses, Blanca said goodbye for the year.
In all, I got seven of nine correct. I ended up getting Agent S’s pic, Rolf’s pic, Aurora’s pic, Skye’s pic, Nan’s pic, Kidd’s pic, and Big Top’s pic. The pictures of Nan and Agent S are new, while the others were duplicates. The five duplicates have been added to my stash. When I do eventually have the giveaway, it will have three winners.
And speaking of giveaways, the one for the cabana set ends tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. The winner will be announced in tomorrow night’s blog entry.
