Completing the Insect Collection

Gulliver sent me a Rooster of Barcelos in the mail, and I put it in my egg room (with my Easter furniture).

On the bulletin board, a notice says that the rainy season will start at the end of June. I’m not sure if that’s correct, because it seems like we get a lot of rainfall in June, even before the end of the month. Well, I’m not going to wait that long to switch back to the night owl town ordinance; I’ll probably do that around the beginning of June, if not late May.

~ Weather Forecast ~ Warm, early-summer-like weather should continue. If this pattern keeps up, the rainy season will start at the end of June.Crazy Redd had his tent set up at the event plaza today. I already had three of his four items, so I took a chance on this warm painting. And yes, I know there are painting guides out there, but I choose not to use them. I try to play as legit as possible. I do use my hair guide, but it only affects the look of your character and doesn’t help you progress further in the game.

Redd: Oh ho! Am I mistaken? Because I see ya lookin' pretty close at that warm painting right there!Back outside, Big Top asked me to make a delivery to Nan. So I tracked her down and gave her the item. She rewarded me with something I wasn’t expecting from a nice old goat: a steamroller!

Nan: It's a steamroller! No living room is complete without a steamroller! Er, maybe. But when Kidd asked me to find him some new furniture, I knew exactly what to give him!

Kidd: I see... So you decided to go with a steamroller, huh? That's a pretty stylish choice! He thanked me for the stylish steamroller and gave me a blue bookcase.

Over by town hall, Tia asked for a new greeting. I told her to say “read my leaves!”

Tia: Read my leaves! How can I help, ice cube? After the rain stopped, I went up to the Dream Suite to update my dream town. Luna told me Logan from Hilloi was my most recent dream visitor.

I then went hunting for a pondskater, which was the last bug I needed. Before long, I spotted one! I had to wait for it to come close enough to the edge of the river, but then I nabbed it! Yes!

I've caught every type of bug!I quickly took it up to Blathers at the museum and donated it.

Blathers: Our insect exhibit is complete! Oh, how my heart flutters just to imagine it.Blathers: Ick! Perhaps flutters is the wrong word for it! More like SHUDDERS! But, I'll manage, I suppose. So now the only section of the museum that isn’t complete is the art gallery. It looks like I still need eight paintings and three statues. This one’s going to take a while, I think.

Princess Daisy has submitted two new path patterns to the QR Codes page, so check them out if you’d like.

Rolf’s Lost Book

At the campsite today, there was some serious bull.

Rodeo: You're from this town, aren't you?And Gulliver was down on the beach. By his hints, I knew he was headed to Portugal.

Gulliver: ...Portugal! That's right! I am headed to Portugal!I found a lost item near my waterfall, so I started taking it to my villagers to ask them about it.

A lost item on the ground.I went into Aurora’s house, and I was quite surprised to see Kidd in there, too! She thought Kidd and I planned it that way.

Aurora: Oh, hello! Did you and Kidd plan to be here at the same time? That's really very sweet of you!But the lost item didn’t belong to either of them. I later found out it was Rolf’s book. He thanked me for returning it and he gave me a spade tee. I didn’t have the heart to tell him I was never going to wear it.

Rolf: I gotta thank you, so here. Take my spade tee with you as a thank-you!Agent S asked me to catch a butterfly for her, but I didn’t see any flying around. (It was already pretty late by the time I started playing). So I went out to the island and caught an emperor butterfly for her. She loved it and rewarded me with an exotic table.

Agent S: I mean, it's beyond my wildest dreams, J bear!At the Dream Suite, Luna told me Brenda from Santa C. was my most recent dream visitor. The stores on Main Street were closed, so I didn’t get to shop at all today.

Sunday Gloomy Sunday

I didn’t bother buying any turnips this morning. But it was raining in town today, and Big Top said it felt like someone launched a giant water balloon at Forest. It was a dark and gloomy Sunday.

Big Top: A huh huh huh! It's like someone launched a giant water balloon at Forest, villain!I went out to the island today and tried an official scavenger hunt tour. I went from house to house, collecting the required furniture. I finished in under three minutes, which earned me a gold Tortimer award and 13 medals.

Tortimer: Heh heh horf! You did it, sprout! You found all of the furniture on your list!Over by my video screen, I heard the pinging sound of a flea jumping around; Molly has fleas!

Molly: Let's keep this flea thing our little secret!
Don’t worry, Molly. I won’t tell anyone! 😉

I went to visit Kidd, and I noticed he has a sloppy table in his house. He also has a pet football fish that looks really depressed.

Kidd and his football fish.In the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Mike from Vertakon was my most recent dream visitor. And later, I went over to Mark’s town to drop off a scenic painting I had for him. I tried taking a picture, only to see that I blinked. So I tried again, and he blinked. Ugh.

Mark and Jeff taking turns blinking. As I was leaving, Kugro came in to adopt Fang from Mark. If you’re reading this, hi Kugro!
