I started up the game this evening, and after checking my mail, I came to a horrible realization: It was after 6 p.m., and I had already missed the Bug-Off competition! I quickly rushed to the event plaza and spoke with Nat. He told me to go inside the tent for the awards ceremony, and that’s all he would say. So I went inside and saw that Nan won the competition with a 57-point peacock butterfly.
But what about my golden net?? Nat didn’t provide me with the option! It looked like I would have to wait until the next Bug-Off to get it!
But I turned my wireless switch on and saw that Wendy was online. She’s an hour behind me, so I asked if I could try asking her Nat about it. I figured it was a long shot, but it was worth a try.
So I was legitimately surprised when there was an option to show Wendy’s Nat my bug collection! He took a look and gave me my golden net!
Awesome!
I got it out and gave it a few test swings.
Today is also the summer solstice, and there’s a special face-cutout standee near Nat’s tent. Wendy and I tried it out. Well, after she was done hitting it with her net by mistake.
Wendy had some pears to sell, so I opened up my gate and she came over. My villagers were commenting on how they were surprised I didn’t get an award at the Bug-Off.
Wendy told me she was doing some shopping, and when I went in the Emporium, I saw that she wasn’t joking around! She practically bought out the whole first floor!
That included some fortune cookies, which she ate in front of me. She didn’t even ask if I was hungry! Rude.
Over by the museum, we tried some Main Street glitching.
I enjoyed wading in the pond.
But I didn’t stop there! I went up onto the museum.
And I was able to walk behind/under Main Street all the way out to the ocean.
I was also able to walk completely under Main Street. Everything looked very glitchy down here.
I made it onto the grass just in front of Main Street, and it looked better here.
After that, I ended the party and turned the game off for a while. When I returned later, fireflies were out…even though it was still light out, of course. The sun will not go down at all tonight.
Isabelle was over at town hall, so I made sure to speak to her.
She gave me a pair of ladder shades, saying they will help me catch bugs without me having to squint. She also said I’d look handsome in them.
She was wrong.
Up at the Dream Suite, Luna told me Saarah from Pokotown was my most recent dream visitor. And in Club LOL, I enjoyed a performance of K.K. Rally.
I hope you all had a great summer solstice, and I hope your Bug-Off went better than mine! See you next time!
