Nintendo of Japan Dream Town

Today is the day of the big snowstorm in Animal Crossing, and it will result in the ground being covered in snow starting tomorrow.

The big snowstorm.Over by the Roost, I found a lost item on the ground.

A lost item on the ground.Amelia was nearby, but the item didn’t belong to her. However, just a few feet away, I found the item’s rightful owner: Agent S! She was happy to get her fancy pouch back, and she rewarded me with a stove.

Agent S: I don't have much to give you in thanks, but I hope you won't mind a stove...Down on the beach, Gulliver was talking about matadors and bulls. He’s headed to Spain, and he’ll be sending me a gift from there tomorrow.

Gulliver: You've also got the dangerous and exciting birthplace of matadors. Such daring and bravery!Drago may breathe fire, but the snow cools him off.

Drago: I breathe fire! Playing in the snow really chills me out, nutella. He asked me to catch an ocean fish for him, so I went and found a squid for him. He thanked me by giving me a future tank. It’s not exactly good weather for a tank top, now is it?

Drago: It's a future tank! Hope you like it!I then went up to Main Street. In the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Meg Rowe from New Leaf was my most recent dream visitor. In Able Sisters, I bought a Santa beard before using the big sewing machine. This design is a retro gamer tee designed by Mike. It has a NES controller on the front and Mario on the back. If you’d like this shirt, it’s available on the QR Codes page. Thanks, Mike!

Wearing a retro gamer tee.I later returned to the Dream Suite, where I dreamed of Nintendo of Japan’s official dream town. TZ recommended the town to me back in September. The town has lots of flowers everywhere, and I stopped for a picnic with some gyroids.

A gyroid picnic. There are a lot of face cutout standees of Nintendo characters, including the cat suit from Super Mario 3D World. Me-YOWZA!

Cat Mario face-cutout standee. The houses and rooms are also based on Nintendo characters or games. This must be Toad’s shroom room.

Toad's mush room. And somehow I ended up in Bowser’s castle! I should have dressed for the occasion, but I’m still in my pajamas.

Bowser's castle in Nintendo's dream town. There’s even a Tomodachi Life room! Oh Mii, oh my!

A Tomodachi Life room in Nintendo's New Leaf dream town.Wendell lets you take all these patterns home with you, including the ones for the face-cutout standees. It’s a great town to visit, so give it a look if you haven’t seen it before. The dream address is 0000-0100-0017.

My 10th Gold Badge

When I started up the game tonight, I saw that Resetti’s manhole was open.

The entrance to the Reset Center.I jumped down and found Resetti and Don in the middle of a conversation. Resetti was complaining about a voice-recognition system that was forced on them from their HQ. But I thought this was HQ.

Resetti: Those jokers down at HQ... I tell ya, they don't give us no respect! None!Resetti basically told Don he was too stupid for the new equipment anyway.

Resetti: You still think a cell phone is that stuff you wrap sandwiches up in! It's ridiculous! Ridiculous, I say! After they discovered that I was standing there, they told me not to use the voice recognition system to say “Scramble.” But of course, I tried it anyway. Unfortunately, not much happened, other than Resetting telling me to stop.

Resetti: Hey! Would ya mind keepin' your trap shut?! Thanks!I noticed something funny as I continued talking to him, though. Each time, Resetti would sink down into his seat as he spoke, only to pop back up when he was done talking. Must be a glitch.

Resetti: Don't just hang around. Go on--get outta here! After I went back up, Sprinkle told me that she wanted a yellow present for Toy Day.

Sprinkle: By the way, I really hope my present is yellow! That's toally the trend this holiday season! That was the final clue I needed! I now have all 20 clues, and I know what everyone wants. Christmas Eve should be a breeze for me now! Here’s my list:

  • Molly: a black umbrella
  • Big Top: orange food
  • Rolf: aqua wallpaper
  • Kabuki: a brown toy
  • Agent S: a green plant
  • Octavian: black clothing
  • Sprinkle: yellow food
  • Drago: yellow clothes
  • Aurora: a pink lamp
  • Amelia: a yellow doll

Copper told me that Phineas was in town, and I had no idea what badge I could be getting. Surprise badges are the best kind, in my opinion. Once I tracked him down, he told me I mastered the art of refurbishing products at Re-Tail.

Phineas: Aaark ark ark! It seems you've mastered the art of customization with our good friend Cyrus. So he gave me the Refurbishing Master badge!

I got the Refurbishing Master badge! I'm a hard-core customizer! It’s my 10th gold badge! Thanks, Phineas! Here’s an updated look at my current badges:

Preparing for the Holidays

In the Able Sisters, I decided it was time to think about putting my Santa costume together. So I started out by buying some Santa pants–that’s all they had for today.

Mabel: Ah, some Santa pants. Isn't that cute look really nice?I was glad to see it was snowing in Forest this evening. Big Top was worried that it would all melt away overnight…and he’s right. We still have a few more days until the snow sticks to the ground.

Big Top: You don't think all this snow will melt away tonight, do you? I'm so worried, I can't sleep. Thanks to a tip from Squishy, I learned that the holiday stocking can be customized. The only option was to make it aqua, but that’s fine by me.

Cyrus: The sock color gets the ol' Aqua design. Sure! Got it!So I made sure to pick it up when it was done. It looks really nice! Thanks for the tip, Squishy! I don’t normally think of customizing items from holidays or special events, since most of them can’t be altered.

Take home the holiday stocking? In front of my metal bench, Sprinkle told me that she had a scoreboard in her pocket! Wow, and I thought my pockets were big!

Sprinkle: Hey, hey! Guess what I've got in my pockets right now? Yeah, it's a scoreboard!I saw a big snowflake floating around, so I got my net out and caught it! I can’t exchange it for ice furniture until I build a snowmam though, and that can’t be done until snow covers the ground. But it’s still fun to catch them!

Wow! A snowflake! I should be gentle with it so it doesn't melt!Up at the Dream Suite, Luna told me that Lulu from Solitude was my most recent dream visitor.

And I finished my day in town hall, where I changed my town tune. Since Christmas is rapidly approaching, I changed my tune to Deck the Halls. Here are the notes if you’d like to do the same:
