Amelia’s Last Day

Amelia is now all packed-up and ready to move out of town, so I went to say goodbye to her.

Amelia: I feel like I've given away most of my clothes and I still have all these full boxes...Sprinkle asked me to play a game of hide-and-seek with her. However, she warned me that she’s pretty good at hiding.

Hey, J bear, how about a game of hide-and-seek? I'm warning you, though. I'm pretty good.I had 15 minutes to find Sprinkle, Big Top, and Agent S. However, I only needed a few seconds to find Sprinkle! And she thinks she’s good at this game. Ha!

Sprinkle: No, no, no!I was in no rush. I stopped to dig up a fossil as Big Top stood there hiding behind Agent S’s house.

Look! I dug up a fossil! And with more than 12 minutes remaining, I found Agent S. I won the game in less than three minutes.

Agent S trying to hide. Just not very well.My reward for winning was a modern wood shelf. Agent S later asked me for some furniture, so I gave that modern wood shelf to her. She rewarded me with a pickle jar! Oh, is there such a thing?

Agent S: It's a pickle jar! Thanks so much!To my surprise, I found out that the pickle jar can be customized! Cyrus can turn the pickles into a pepper, zucchini, carrot, or asparagus! I chose to turn it into a pepper.

Pickle jar customization options: Pepper. Zucchini. Carrot. Asparagus.Back behind town hall, Octavian asked me if I thought he was nice or scary. I said he was scary, just to see how he would react. He told me that I can’t judge someone by the shirt they wear (he was wearing TZ’s marshmallow ghost shirt, by the way). But then he went on to say that you can’t find kindness and sincerity in someone if they don’t have any to begin with!

Octavian: Of course, you can't find kindness and sincerity if they just don't exist in someone. GAHAHA!Up on Main Street, I found Tabby, Molly, Alli, and Benedict all standing in a diagonal line! I don’t know why they were all lined up like that in the cold winter weather. It must be 30 degrees!

Animals lined up diagonally on Main Street.I tried looking for a new home for Amelia, and Philipp from Fourside came over to adopt her.

Philipp from Fourside has just arrived in Forest.I hope you enjoy having Amelia in your town, Philipp! Good luck to you both!

Amelia: Jeff! Did you know I'm moving to Fourside?Later on, I built a snowman. He gave me a new bingo card and rolled a #15 for me. I punched it off, but I still have a long ways to go.

Snowman: Bingos do not happen overnight.I finished my night with a trip up to Club LOL. K.K. performed K.K. Chorale for me (and Katt).

Katt and I catch some live music at Club LOL.

Killing Time

This morning, Reese was paying 175 bells each for turnips. Even though I had a hunch that the prices might go higher still (based on a slow climbing pattern the past few days), I know Friday is late in the week to be taking big risks. So I sold about two-thirds of my turnips to ensure a profit for the week.

But later on, in the afternoon, prices jumped up to 304 bells! I sold the rest of my turnips and I ended up with a nice chunk of change.

Reese: Currently, I'm buying each turnip for 304 bells. After putting my turnip money into the bank, my balance topped 31 million bells.

Your current balance is 31,470,000 bells.Later on, I saw Drago out in the snow. He told me that he was watching a football game on TV and he saw Anabelle (from his former town) in the stands!

Drago: And I saw Anabelle from my old town, Maine, in the crowd! He then said if he knew Anabelle was going to become a celebrity, he would’ve become better friends with him. Wait, what? Him? You must be mistaken. She’s the belle of the ball!

Drago: If I'd known he was gonna be a celebrity, I would have become better friends with him.I updated my dream town, and Luna told me that Skye from Angel was my most recent dream visitor. Sure that isn’t backwards? I’d expect an angel from the sky, but not a Skye from an Angel. 😛

Luna: According to the latest feedback, a client named Skye from Angel enjoyed your dream. At 10:00, I opened my gate for Friday Night Forest. Unfortunately, no one came over. But Sprinkle had asked me for a barbel steed, so I just decided to fish for one while I waited. It took me longer than I anticipated, but I did catch one eventually. When I took it back to her, she thanked me and rewarded me with a western shirt. Yee-haw!

Sprinkle: I hope that you like my present. It's a western shirt! To kill some more time (and to work towards a badge), I decided to go diving for some sea creatures. The falling snow made it a bit harder than usual to see the bubbles, but I still made a number of catches.

Swimming in the dark ocean as it snows.Around 10:40, I went up and sold all of my catches. And by 10:45, still no one had come over to visit, so I closed the gate and called it a night.

Porter: OK, I'll close the gate.

Day 617

As I started up the game tonight, I was greeted by the northern lights up in the sky above.

The northern lights above my house.Molly also joined me on the bridge to enjoy the scenic view. From here, you can view the aurora…and Aurora’s house.

Molly joins me on the bridge to watch the northern lights.I went over to Big Top’s house to say hello, and I found him sitting down. He couldn’t even bother to stand up to talk to me? That’s okay, I understand. For an elephant, just standing up is (literally) a ton of work.

Big Top sitting on a little stool.Back outside, Octavian asked me to catch a river fish for him. I love easy requests like this. I caught a dace and took it back to him; he thanked me with a jockey shirt.

Octavian: This is just a token of my thanks. It's a jockey shirt! On the other side of town, Drago told me that Big Top makes fun of him for saying “toothless” all the time.

Drago: I'm so bummed out. Big Top made fun of me because I say "toothless" all the time...So I told him to start saying “gatorhater” instead.

Drago: I breathe fire! What's shaking, gatorhater?Since May 2nd, 2013, I’ve been blogging about New Leaf just about every day. I’ve only missed three days in those 20+ months (617 days). But if you’ve played any game daily for that long, you know some days there just isn’t anything noteworthy that happens. So I’m going to be scaling back on the New Leaf blog entries, but just by a bit. For now, I still plan on writing at least five blog entries a week. Don’t worry, I’m not giving up on New Leaf or this blog.

There will definitely be a blog entry tomorrow, since it’s Friday Night Forest. Hope to see you then! Thank you all for reading. 🙂
