A Wet Saturday Night

Rolf was telling me a tall tale about how he almost caught a coelacanth, saying it got away at the last second. He then asked me to catch one for him so that he could have his revenge. Fat chance of that, tiger.

Rolf: Maybe you can catch it for me so I can have my revenge?!It was raining in town tonight though, and that gave me a rare break from having to water flowers. All the animals in town and on Main Street had their umbrellas out.

Rain on Main Street.I made a stop at the Dream Suite to update my dream town, and Luna told me that Graham from Rockford was my most recent dream visitor. I also stopped in Club LOL to check out K.K. Slider’s Saturday night performance. He played some disco music for me.

K.K.: Enough tuning--let's groove. This next one is for you, Jeff. It's called K.K. Disco. After the show, I returned to town and Aurora was loving the rain!

Aurora: I never thought I'd meet someone who likes strolling on rainy nights as much as I do, chilly! Not much else was going on, so I went out to the island to earn some medals. I chose the evening firefly tour.

Tortimer: You ready to catch some fireflies? Those soft lights hovering in the air are fireflies! It was pretty easy to score the gold Tortimer award (and 12 medals) each time. You just have to catch ten fireflies in five minutes. I played it several times before returning home and ending my night.

Tortimer: That's enough to net you a Gold Tortimer award and 12 medals!

Friday Night Forest for March

Last night, I went to visit Big Top and he told me to pull his trunk!

Big Top: Pull my trunk! Seriously, make yourself at home, lil top!Tonight, I found Sprinkle on the metal bench near my central park.

Sprinkle: Time to take a load off! Why don't you sit next to me for a bit?She asked me to join her, so I did.

Sitting on the bench with Sprinkle.I put up a new design on my face-cutout standee: It’s a Butch faceboard created by Beth. It’s available on the QR Codes page if you’d like it. Thanks, Beth!

Sticking my face into the Butch faceboard. At 10:00, I opened my gate for Friday Night Forest. Even though it’s Friday the 13th, I didn’t dress up as Jason this time. It’s Mohawk McClover season, after all. BranDex came over, followed by a green Squishy!

Squishy from Cosmic has just arrived in Forest. Then Merka from Bribs also joined in, so I had a full house…literally. Merka was enamored with the picture of Tabby.

BranDex, Squishy, Jeff, and Merka.Merka merged into me, pushing me into BranDex.

I'm feeling a little squished. In the basement, Merka tried out my throne. At least the one that doesn’t flush.

Merka sitting on the throne.Once we were done, we headed out to the island.

Riding the boat out to the island. We started out with an official hide-and-seek tour. I found two of the animals, including Lyman. He and I were wearing matching shirts.

Lyman: Nuts... You got me!We ended up with a silver Tortimer award. Next, we went on a fossil-finding tour. I hadn’t done this tour in a long time, and I forgot how it worked. There are eight houses in total (two sets of four). Each set has one example house and one display house. You have to dig up fossils around town, then put them in display houses exactly as they are shown in the example houses. It’s a time-consuming process, and we failed. Badly.

After that, we went on the labyrinth (maze) tour. We came close, but we failed once again.

Tortimer: Looks like you ran out of time! Guess I'll be keeping my medals for now.The only other tours available were diving tours, and those are no fun. So we stuck to what we were good at: Hide and seek. We played three more times, winning gold Tortimer awards each time. Each game only took about a minute each, that’s how good we were doing.

Goldie: Oh, rats! You found me!So despite the two failures, we still scored some medals for the night. We then took the boat back to Forest.

Leilani: Ye be sendin' me mixed signals here, lad! If ye wanna go home, sit down in the boardin' area, yar?Back in town, Merka was trying to trick someone into falling into a pitfall, but nobody fell for it. So she took the plunge into her own pit.

Merka in a pitfall.Squishy went home, and I jumped off the cliff for some swimming and diving.

Jeff: Geronimoooo! After a little while, I ended the session for the night. But I had a dozen baskets of perfect peaches to sell, so Merka let me sell them in her town.

Reese: Well then...I could probably part with 324,000 bells for all of it, if that sounds OK with you?Once I got back home, I noticed a gold rose missing. Uh-oh.

A missing gold rose from my path.Have a good weekend, everyone! I’ll be back with another entry tomorrow.

Drago’s Guest

I found Saharah right outside my house today, so I hired her right away (just so I didn’t have to drag her all around town later). In this picture, Aurora crept into Saharah’s speech bubble.

Saharah: For 3,000 bells, deal?Saharah installed an office wall and plaza tile. I wasn’t particularly interested in either one, so I sold them both afterwards.

An office wall and a plaza tile.Near Forest’s central park, Kabuki told me that he was planning on moving out of town on March 15th. But I told him not to go, and he agreed to stick around a while longer.

Kabuki: All right, I'll put off moving for now! Guess you're stuck with me for a little while longer! When I visited Drago, I was surprised to find Sprinkle there as well. They were both just standing there, wearing matching Animal Crossing shirts, staring towards the door. Yeah, that’s not odd at all…

Sprinkle and Drago staring at me.Even though Sprinkle was in Drago’s house, standing right next to him, she didn’t seem to mind gossiping about him. She said we could learn something about Drago’s friendship with Agent S.

Sprinkle: Sometimes I forget that friends are for fun, you know? We could learn a lesson from those two!As I walked across town, I saw a balloon present floating by on the other side of the river. I stopped briefly to take a picture of it.

A balloon present.Up on Main Street, Luna told me that Elisveta from the town of New Leaf was my most recent dream visitor. And someone I StreetPassed gave me a bubble wand over at the Happy Homes Showcase.

I finished up my evening with another trip out to the island. The selection of tours wasn’t very good today, but I went on the classic tropical fishing tour. I caught enough fish to earn a gold Tortimer award and eight medals. Every little bit counts as I work towards the Gold Medalist badge.

Tortimer: WHOA! You're a master angler! You've earned a Gold Tortimer award and 8 medals!
