Friday Night Forest – January

Today is the 2nd Friday of the month, and that meant it was time for Friday Night Forest! I opened my gate shortly after 10 p.m., and at first no one showed up. But at 10:15, Robin came over to visit. Robin was someone that I used to play ACCF with back in 2011 or so. But this was her first time visiting me in New Leaf!

20160108_HNI_0041She did some shopping up on Main Street; this was actually her first time seeing the Emporium! She seemed pretty excited about it.

20160108_HNI_0053She got her hair done at Shampoodle (using my hair guide of course, haha) and she said she was jealous of all my emotions. The Shrunk Funk Shuffle seemed to impress her. 😛

20160108_HNI_0055I told her she could help herself to the fruit in my town, since her town is new. I also gave her a tour of my house.

20160108_HNI_0060We had some fun on the marshmallow chairs. It still makes me laugh to see the faces and hear the sounds the characters make when they try (and fail) to get off the chair.

20160108_HNI_0068She didn’t have a wet suit, so I gave her a (gently-used) extra one I had.

peeWe also hunted down some snowflakes. There was one snowflake in particular that seemed to be trolling us. We had to swim to the private beach to get to it, and once we arrived, it went back to the other side! It went back and forth several times until Robin eventually caught it.

20160108_HNI_0087We did some swimming and crab diving, and then we had a nice hammer fight. It can’t truly be Friday Night Forest without bashing someone over the head with a toy hammer.

20160108_HNI_0097We dove into the ocean (from the cliff and the dock), but it’s hard to take a picture at just the right moment. It’s even harder to time it so that you jump off at the same time. But this is the best picture I got from our diving attempts.

20160108_HNI_0001Shortly before midnight, I ended the session. I had a good time and it was nice to see Robin again after not playing Animal Crossing with her for years. Hopefully she’ll stop by again sometime.

I wrapped up my night by updating my dream town at the Dream Suite. While I was there, Luna told me that Alana from Cratoe was my most recent dream visitor. Thanks for visiting and have a good weekend, everyone!

Dreaming of Scarlett

Saharah was in town today, and I hired her to install some new wallpaper and carpet. She put in this kitchen wall and tatami. Eh.

20160107_HNI_0097Peck came up to me and started bragging about not only his clothes, but also his “jaw-dropping physique.” (Looks like he has a bird chest to me). But I think he’s starting to creep me out a bit.

Not a lot was going on in town tonight, so I decided to do a little dreaming. I started going through my list of dream towns that people have suggested, but I noticed an unsettling trend. Luna kept telling me that there was not a town at each address I entered. Admittedly, these suggestions were old. (I’ve received too many suggestions to get to them all in a timely manner). But I’ve never got this many bad dream addresses in a row before.

I know that inactive dreams are deleted after a while, but I wonder if Nintendo has decreased that amount of time now that they’re also saving people’s Happy Home Designer creations. At any rate, if you want your dream town to stay active, make sure you update it regularly!

I was a bit relieved when I finally found one that worked. I headed off to the town of Scarlett (4600-2362-5644). It’s set in springtime, and you can see the pink cherry blossom trees. There are lots of flowers and the sky is blue and clear. This town is gorgeous!

There is a winding path that leads to the campsite and this mushroom garden near the fire pit. You can use a tree trunk as a stool.

The town is amazingly colorful, everywhere you go.

Purple and pink houses, with matching flowers.

Mel is the mayor of Scarlett, and her basement looks like a great place to check out some live music.

Honey’s house has a great-looking diner. Grab some snacks or play some billiards.

If you’re looking for a great dream town to visit, be sure to check out Scarlett. The dream address again is 4600-2362-5644.

After I updated my own town dream town (dream address 4300-2003-9889), Luna told me that Lotus from Coral was my most recent dream visitor. Caitlin from Cesadius also visited recently.

I’ll be back with another blog entry tomorrow for Friday Night Forest.

Seeking Dizzy

Dizzy approached me today, asking me to play a game of hide-and-seek. Sure, why not?

20160104_HNI_0050He gave me 15 minutes to find him, Velma, and Agent S. Fifteen minutes is plenty of time, so I felt no need to rush. But still, it didn’t take me long to find Velma hiding behind a tree and Agent S hiding behind Rolf’s house.

20160104_HNI_0052I tracked down Dizzy a couple minutes later, and he had the worst hiding spot of all: He was trying to hide behind the arm of the Sphinx. If someone told him that was a good hiding spot, they were clearly lion.

20160104_HNI_0056Even though Dizzy lost the game, he said it was the most fun he’s had in ages. That’s saying a lot, because elephants never forget! 😉 He gave me a hearth as my prize for winning.

20160104_HNI_0057Even though I built a perfect snowmam yesterday, I tried making another one today since I found both snowballs pretty close to each other. However, the snowballs wouldn’t connect to form a snowmam–even though they seemed like they were the right size! Oh well. So I just made them a little bigger and ended up with a snowboy.

20160104_HNI_0058When I made my daily trip up to Main Street, Luna told me that Cab from Renwerd was my most recent dream visitor. (Ben from Leafwood was my previous dream visitor). At the post office, the money I deposited into my bank account kicked my balance up over 58 million bells.

20160104_HNI_0059I finished off my night with some fishing and diving. I caught a scallop and Pascal popped up out of the water. He figured that if people can get seasick, maybe the sea can get person sick. 😀

20160104_HNI_0062I definitely wouldn’t want to swim in that ocean.
