The New Leaf update coming later this fall will have a new Amiibo Camera feature. You can scan up to four Amiibo Cards, and those Animal Crossing villagers will appear in photos you take with your 3DS camera! Here’s an example that was shown on Nintendo’s Japanese site.
The Japanese Animal Crossing Twitter account also tweeted out this picture of Isabelle and Digby.
It’s quite reminiscent of the 3DS AR Games, which is a free app that comes with 3DS systems. It combined real photos with Nintendo characters like Mario, Link, Samus, and Kirby. Tomodachi Life also has an AR camera item, which allows you to take real photos with one of your Miis in the picture.
But this time you’ll be scanning in your Amiibo Cards instead of AR cards to add Animal Crossing villagers. While it’s nothing groundbreaking, it sounds like it will be a lot of fun!
You could use the Amiibo camera to make it look like you’re flushing an ugly villager down the toilet. Or you could pose a character next to your Animal Crossing Amiibo figures or plush toys. Maybe even make Isabelle sit next to your real-life dog? Or maybe she could even ride on your dog’s back! Leave a comment below and share your ideas for how you plan to use this Amiibo camera feature! 🙂
Meanwhile, in Forest…
Yesterday, Agent S asked me to bury a time capsule for her. I wonder if this is really a time capsule, or if she’s just tricking me into burying her nuts for her before winter comes.
I took it up to my usual time capsule spot (the very northwest corner of town) and buried it in a hole there. Doing it this way makes sure it’s very easy to find when the time comes to dig it up.
The scent of the freshly buried acorns must have drawn all the squirrels to Forest, because Filbert showed up at my campsite today. I wasn’t interested in asking him to move in, even though I do have a free spot right now.
And another squirrel showed up on Main Street for the first time. It was Cally, who moved out of town in July of last year. Her time in Forest was something I was trying to block from my memory, but that’s not possible now that she’s back.
My recent dream visitors have been Javier from Nestoria and Xavier from Quigley. Thanks for stopping by!
