The New Leaf update coming later this fall will have a new Amiibo Camera feature. You can scan up to four Amiibo Cards, and those Animal Crossing villagers will appear in photos you take with your 3DS camera! Here’s an example that was shown on Nintendo’s Japanese site.
The Japanese Animal Crossing Twitter account also tweeted out this picture of Isabelle and Digby.
It’s quite reminiscent of the 3DS AR Games, which is a free app that comes with 3DS systems. It combined real photos with Nintendo characters like Mario, Link, Samus, and Kirby. Tomodachi Life also has an AR camera item, which allows you to take real photos with one of your Miis in the picture.
But this time you’ll be scanning in your Amiibo Cards instead of AR cards to add Animal Crossing villagers. While it’s nothing groundbreaking, it sounds like it will be a lot of fun!
You could use the Amiibo camera to make it look like you’re flushing an ugly villager down the toilet. Or you could pose a character next to your Animal Crossing Amiibo figures or plush toys. Maybe even make Isabelle sit next to your real-life dog? Or maybe she could even ride on your dog’s back! Leave a comment below and share your ideas for how you plan to use this Amiibo camera feature! 🙂
Meanwhile, in Forest…
Yesterday, Agent S asked me to bury a time capsule for her. I wonder if this is really a time capsule, or if she’s just tricking me into burying her nuts for her before winter comes.
I took it up to my usual time capsule spot (the very northwest corner of town) and buried it in a hole there. Doing it this way makes sure it’s very easy to find when the time comes to dig it up.
The scent of the freshly buried acorns must have drawn all the squirrels to Forest, because Filbert showed up at my campsite today. I wasn’t interested in asking him to move in, even though I do have a free spot right now.
And another squirrel showed up on Main Street for the first time. It was Cally, who moved out of town in July of last year. Her time in Forest was something I was trying to block from my memory, but that’s not possible now that she’s back.
My recent dream visitors have been Javier from Nestoria and Xavier from Quigley. Thanks for stopping by!
Off topic, but can I just point out that it’s hard as freak to get a jock villager’s picture before they move out! Anyone agree with me?
Gotta say, Alice is a treasure and my last original resident in Quigley. The ones to arrive in town that pissed me off the most are Rodeo, Flurry (only because of her horrible house location), Naomi, and right now Charlise. The one that I dislike the most, however, is one I never had: Pietro. Clowns are scary.
I have Pietro in ACNL
Welp, I guess it’s time for me to get an amiibo card of Yuka or Alice (I swear that Koala creeps me out) and make it look like I’m about to flush them.
Sounds good! I might even start playing AC:NL again when this update rolls out!
Cookie eating a villager? That could be a good way to use the new Amiibo camera 😉
Know what’s better than that? Cookie eating a cookie.
(Cookieception though I know she’s a dog oh my gosh are cookies secretly dogs illuminati confirmed)
Haha I meant my guinea pig actually! We’ve given her cookies before, it’s so funny 😛
You gotta say, both Animals (whether dog or guinea pig) are cute.
(Lucky you get a guinea pig I’m still waiting for my pet fish I named Magikarp)
Hey Jeff! Unrelated question: Will you be doing a blog for Disney Magical World 2 when it comes out in 8 days? Thanks!
I will have a blog for Disney Magical World 2, but I’m not sure if it’ll be up the very first day. Maybe, maybe not.
Who’s your absolute least favorite villager?
That would probably be Jambette, but I don’t have an Amiibo card of her. However, I could flush Gigi or Tom Nook down the toilet, yes yes.
Oh, mine is Monique, she moved right into my FREAKING CHERRY ORCHARD! UGH!
Jambette moved into my New Leaf town suddenly from a friend’s town, and she moved onto a space i didn’t want villagers to move on
