Bones’ Pic!

Boots was talking about two of Forest’s villagers arguing on Monday, and he said something I found a bit odd: “Some guys just don’t know how to argue with women, in a river!” 😛

Boots: Some guys just don't know how to argue with women, in a river!

Today, Big Top pinged me and said it was great to have friends like me (yeah right). But that’s all he said. He had to ping me just to say that??

Big Top: Talking to you always reminds me how great it is to have good friends, up my nose.

Iggly the penguin was over at the campsite today, and I said hello. As I’ve mentioned before in this video, Iggly is my favorite Animal Crossing villager whose name begins with the letter I. Not that it’s saying much, since there aren’t very many of those. 😀

Iggly: Hey! Do you think it's OK if I can camp here for a while?

Boots asked me to catch a butterfly for him, so I grabbed a tiger butterfly from my dock box. When I handed it to him, he thanked me with a wet-road sign.

Boots: It's a wet-road sign! You deserve a reward!

So when Bones asked me for some new furniture, I knew just what to give him.

Bones: Nice! I had my eye on a wet-road sign just like this one.

In return, he gave me his picture!!! YES!! Finally! I took it home to look at it; his favorite quote is “A snack a day keeps the vacuum away.” Haha, I like that one!

Quote on Bones's picture: A snack a day keeps the vacuum away.

After I took that screenshot, I put his picture into storage. By the time I got out of my storage, Bones barged into my house!

Bones enters my house.

I hope he wasn’t offended that I didn’t have his pic on display. Anyway, he didn’t stay long, and he even brought me a gift…even if the gift left a sour taste in my mouth.

Bones: I have a gift for you--a lemon! I think you're going to really like it!

Now that I have his picture, I’ll probably let Bones move out of town the next time he asks. I like the guy, but he goes to bed so early that I don’t often get a chance to see him.

My latest dream visitor was Ghost from Vinegar. Thanks for stopping by!

Thanksgiving

Yesterday, Hornsby asked me to dig up his time capsule. I did, and he found a jockey shirt inside. He then gave it to me; no horsing around!

Hornsby: It's a jockey shirt! Next time I bury a time capsule, I'll let you know, shnozzle.
Please don’t.

I think this is the last one I have buried in town. Or at least, I hope so.

Today is Thanksgiving in the United States, and that means it’s time for the harvest festival! Let’s get cooking!

Franklin: Let's get cooking!

If you’re not familiar with how the event works in New Leaf, here’s a quick summary. Franklin the turkey is in town, but this time, he’s a chef. He wants to prepare a four-course meal, and he needs your help to gather ingredients. Some can be found around town by picking mushrooms, gathering fruit, or catching fish. Other ingredients will require that you help out neighbors (who need ingredients of their own). Give Franklin the three ingredients for each dish (and optionally, a secret ingredient to make the dish better).

It’s quite a departure from the harvest festival in earlier games. On GameCube and Wii, Franklin was supposed to be the main course instead! In those games, he hid from villagers, and the player’s job was to collect forks and knives to give them to Franklin in exchange for harvest furniture.

Chef Franklin’s first dish today was a mushroom salad. I gathered a flat mushroom, a round mushroom, vinegar, and an apple (as the secret ingredient) to complete the dish. As a reward, he gave me a fruit basket.

Franklin: To thank you for helping me, I'd really like you to have this fruit basket!

Then he wanted to make some soup (bouillabaisse). I caught an olive flounder, red snapper, and sea bass for the dish. The Mouth of Truth Agent S informed me that a lemon was the secret ingredient to make the fish dish great.

Agent S: Ready? Lemons. They're the secreat weapon! Just a squeeze of lemon juice and the flavors explode!

Along the way, I noticed four of my villagers gathered around the bridge.

Bones, Lolly, Boots, and Big Top hang out near the bridge.

Franklin gave me a harvest wall for completing the soup. The main course for the harvest festival was some pan-fried olive flounder. It required an olive flounder (obviously), flour, a flat mushroom, and some vinegar for the secret ingredient. My reward this time was a harvest lamp.

The last dish was the town’s dessert: apple pie.

Rolf: Wow! You're actually going to help Franklin make the town's apple pie?

I took an apple, some flour, a lemon, and some honey (from a beehive) to Franklin. I successfully completed all dishes, and my final reward was a cornucopia.

All four dishes complete.
Eat now?

Franklin also made a reference to his GameCube and Wii days. 🙂

Franklin: And to think, not long ago, I was deathly afraid of forks and knives. I'll eat with my fingers, thank you!

My recent dream visitors have been Luke from Cow Town, Sarah from Brick, Erik from Listoria, and Luc from Limbo. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you had a great Thanksgiving (for those in the U.S.)!

When Fall Begins

On Thursday, Rolf asked me to dig up his time capsule.

Rolf: Do you remember that time capsule I had you bury a while ago?

I did, and Rolf found a kiddie clock inside. He then gave me the kiddie clock as my reward for digging up the time capsule.

Rolf: I'll give this to you as a thank-you. So here ya go--one recently dug gift: a kiddie clock!

Aurora asked me for some fruit, and she told me she’d be waiting for it in the river! 😛

Aurora: Thank you in advance! I'll be waiting for you, in a river!

When I visited Hornsby, he told me fall doesn’t begin until my craving for ice cream stops. Well, I guess it’s going to be summer forever then. 😀

Hornsby: When your craving for ice cream stops, that's when fall begins, shnozzle.

Today, the fishing tournament was held. It was one of the dreaded single-fish tourneys, so black bass was the only fish that would be accepted. I caught one and handed it to Chip: It measured 21.5 inches, and he told me I was in third place.

Chip: Woo! That puts you in third place! Nyuk nyuk nyuk!

But by the time the tournament ended, Big Top had kicked me out of that spot. I didn’t make the podium. Hornsby won first place, and Lolly finished in second.

Hornsby wins the fishing tournament.

At Club LOL tonight, K.K. Slider performed “Only Me” for only me…and Cally and Peck. 😛
