Fireworks 2019

When I visited Claudia yesterday, I found her sitting in her chair inside her house. She was talking about how cute and comfy the chair was.

Claudia: There are lots of cute chairs. But finding one like this--that's cute AND comfy? Now that's a score.

Tonight was the last fireworks festival of the summer, in New Leaf at least. Isabelle was over at the event plaza, and she gave me a bulb bopper to wear for the occasion.

Crazy Redd was selling cookies, and I bought two of them. The first one had a “dud prize” inside. I redeemed it for a roman candle.

Redd: Well, here's your consolation prize. A roman candle!

My second cookie contained a flash prize.

Redd's Cookie: Congrats! You got a flash prize!

Redd referred to it as a boom ticket for some reason, but it was a winner regardless. Redd gave me a lovely phone as my prize.

I watched some fireworks from the bridge, and later, near the train tracks.

The villagers in town were also commenting on the fireworks. It sounds like everyone had a good time.

Rolf: I really respect the folks who make 'em every year! You can tell that they ain't lazy bums! I howled!
Claudia: Aren't these fireworks amazing? You don't see this kind of display in just any town. Forest pride!

I went home and tested out my lovely phone. I called the automated fortune-telling telephone service. I was told to listen to Agent K.K. while doing some early-morning training to build stamina.

If you want to build stamina, how about some early-morning training to Agent K.K.?

Then, the recording told me to wear a cap for good luck.

The item that will bring you luck today is...a cap!

My recent dream visitors have been Sakina from Sardonyx and Ava from Monuents. Lolly also mentioned dreaming of Milena from Bristol. Thanks for stopping by, and have an excellent day!

Lolly: I had a very strange dream about someone called Milena from Bristol.

Rolf’s Birthday 2019

Today is Rolf’s birthday, so I went shopping at the campground for his present. I decided to get him this lectern with mic.

Harvey: Ah! So you're interested in my lectern with mic...

I then headed over to Rolf’s house for the party. I gave him the present, and he said it was something he didn’t have much experience with…but he was willing to give it a try. Still, it sounded like he wasn’t thrilled with the gift.

Rolf: Maybe this would be a good chance to widen my worldview. Yeah, it won't be so bad! Thanks!

Lolly was also at the party, which meant my two favorite villagers were there. Lolly said that seeing her friends happy makes her happy too. She’s so cute.

Lolly: I love birthday parties! Seeing my friends happy makes me happy.

One of my town initiatives for today was to bring back ten items from the island. I don’t normally try for the initiatives, but it has been a while since I’ve visited the island and heard the peaceful night island music. So I went there and made ten catches (mostly bugs, but a couple of sharks too).

I caught a golden stag! Better not spend it all in one place!

I returned and sold my catches; I made about 65,000 bells.

My recent dream visitors, according to Luna, have been Mao from Nippongi, Stacy from Paradise, and Lydia from Mimosa. Thanks for stopping by! I may be back on Sunday night for the fireworks festival. See you then!

Bronze Bug Trophy

Last weekend, I gave Claudia some fruit and she really, really seemed to enjoy it. 😛 To thank me for lighting her fire, she gave me her sconce.

The August Bug-Off was held today. I took a tiger butterfly out of my dock box (from the island), and gave it to Nat. He gave it a score of 49 points.

Nat: 49 points!

It was the top-scoring bug to that point, so Nat gave me a minimalist dresser as a prize. However, I wasn’t trying to win the Bug-Off. So I stopped there, and saved my game.

When I picked the game back up later, I headed to the winners’ ceremony inside Nat’s tent. Fortunately, my bug record had been squashed. Boots was the big winner, Vivian got 2nd place, and I finished in 3rd place. For that, I earned a bronze bug trophy.

This was my first bronze bug trophy. Unfortunately, my pockets were full, so Nat will have to mail it to me tomorrow.

Update: Here is a look at the bronze bug trophy as seen in my trophy room at the museum. I still need the silver trophy.

I ran into Lolly, and she congratulated me on my 3rd-place finish. After that, she wanted to buy the watering trough in my pockets. She offered 495 bells for it, and I accepted.

Lolly: So...I couldn't help but notice you have a watering trough right there in your pockets.

Aurora pinged me, and told me that she was going to move out of town on the 19th. I told her to stay, but that was a close call! Today is the 17th, after all. With me not playing daily any more, I’m bound to lose a villager I don’t want to lose at some point. But at least it won’t be today.

Aurora: On the 19th of this month, I'm venturing out into the world.

My recent dream visitors have been Calvin from Tomato, Tara from Bébé, Audi from Audi Odd, and Tyler from Floraa. Thanks for stopping by!
