Bad Trades

On February 25th, the snow melted and grass was green once again. My brick path was still made of ice bricks in these first few photos, but I’ve since changed them back to green bricks.

Green grass returns around the statue fountain.

Cube approached me with a suggestion for a trade: He wanted my silver nugget in exchange for his moldy shirt. Wow.

Cube: So how about trading your silver nugget for my moldy shirt?

Since I’m afraid to turn him down for anything (since I’m still desperately trying to earn his photo), I agreed to the trade. But he had the nerve to imply that it was an even trade: He said we traded treasure for treasure!

Cube: Yesssss! Trading treasure for treasure is win-win for both of us!
You mean trading treasure for mold.

As you can see in that picture, Saharah was in town. I paid her 3,000 bells for a sci-fi wall and a closed road.

A sci-fi wall and closed road in my house.

At Club LOL, I told K.K. Slider I was feeling a bit sad, and he performed King K.K. for me and my former resident Peck.

The credits roll as K.K. Slider performs for Peck and Jeff.

As a side note, Peck moved out of town nearly seven years ago, but he’s still hanging around Main Street. That shows you how infrequently new villagers move in and out around here. 😛

After the show, I found a lost item (a bag) down on the beach around 11:30. I started asking around, and it didn’t belong to Inkwell, Rolf, Boots, Aurora, Molly, or Cherry. Everyone else was asleep! But fortunately, the lost item was still intact the next day, and I returned it to Hornsby. He said there was raisin bread inside of it! He then rewarded me with a noodle tee.

Hornsby: The raisin bread I was saving is still inside! I'm so gonna eat all of it when I get home, schnozzle.
You are home.

Tonight, Inkwell told me that he was a man who loves his festivals in the sea. Appropriate, but you’re not going to get to many of those in this game.

Inkwell: I'm a man who loves his festivals, in the sea!

I saw a really big fish shadow in the river, and I caught a stringfish! That’s worth 15,000 bells!

Jeff, after catching a stringfish: OH MY GOSH!

But wouldn’t you know it? It didn’t take long for Cherry to ask about it.

Cherry: Hey! I'm curious about an item. Ready? Stringfish. You got a line on anything like that?

She offered to trade a cloudy tee for it. Since I’m afraid to say no to villagers I still need photos from (since they take seem to take years in this game), I agreed to the trade. This is actually even worse than the silver nugget for moldy shirt trade. Oof.

Cherry: Heh heh... Maybe that was a better deal for me than for you. Sorry! On Toy Day!
She knew what she was doing.

I’m starting to think my four newest villagers get together and brag about the awful trades they’ve weaseled me into. 😛 “As long as we never give Jeff our photos, he’ll do anything we want!”

There was a heavy meteor shower starting at 7 p.m., and Beth came over to wish on a few shooting stars with me.

Jeff and Beth wish on some shooting stars.

Later on, Jeremiah asked me for a butterfly. I grabbed an agrias butterfly from my dock box, and gave it to him. He rewarded me with a bathroom stall.

Jeremiah: It's a bathroom stall!

According to Luna, my most recent dream visitors were Michael from Galloway and Daniel from Walddorf. Thanks for stopping by! See you all next time!

    1. Mainly because I can’t capture video from a portable-only system. I did make a few videos recorded with a camera in the early days of New Leaf, but I wasn’t happy with how they turned out.

  1. I love this game diary, I have taken New Leaf back because I have never completed my town, but this time I am determined to do it, even if it takes a long time, I want to proceed calmly and enjoy the game❤️Even though New Horizons has improved so many things, New Leaf is a second home for me and I’m happy to see that there are people who still play it

  2. Aww, I have yet to catch a stringfish in any game. Too bad about the trade, but Cherry is worth it! 🙂
