On Sunday night, I started up the game to attend the fireworks festival. It was the final fireworks show of the year, and I generally try to make it to at least one show every year.

At the event plaza, Isabelle gave me a bulb bopper to wear for the occasion. But I didn’t buy any of Redd’s cookies.

I stopped at a few spots around town to take in the fireworks.

Moments later, Rolf seemingly fell in love with the eel in my pocket.

He offered me all the money he had, which was 3,600 bells. Nice deal! Especially since I caught another eel right after this exchange anyway.
Tonight, Boots asked me for a new catchphrase. So I told him to say “in a swamp.”

Cherry told me she wanted to have turf wars in another town, and it took me a minute to decide whether or not to let her leave. I did earn her photo last month, and she has lived in town for 14 months…but I still couldn’t let her go just yet. A one-year, two-month stay actually seems short for New Leaf, considering most of my villagers have been around for many years. So I told Cherry to stay, for now at least. I’m not sure what I’ll say next time she asks, though.
