Octopus in a Swimsuit?

On Sunday, I found a lost item on the beach. I soon returned it to Inkwell, who said it was his swimsuit bag! But does an octopus really need a swimsuit? 🤔

Inkwell: Oh! My swimsuit bag!

He said he must have dropped it on his way back from swimming, in ink. 😆

Inkwell: I must have dropped it on my way back from swimming, in ink.

For returning the bag, he rewarded me with a kiddie bureau.

I later found the gem rock, which spit out eight pieces of ore.

It's just so colorful!

Even though New Horizons has iron nuggets and gold nuggets, I miss the colorful variety of gems you can get in New Leaf.

Cube asked me to play a game of hide and seek, and he gave me ten minutes to find him, Boots, and Inkwell. It didn’t take me long to find Inkwell, hiding behind Cube’s house.

About 45 seconds later, I found Cube behind Rolf’s house.

And shortly after that, I found Boots behind the instrument shelter. Hide and seek games seem easier in New Leaf than they are in City Folk.

Boots looks out from behind the instrument shelter while hiding.

Cube gave me some kitchen tile (flooring) as my prize for winning the game.

At the drive-in campground, Harvey was feeding the birds! New Leaf has so many cute details like this.

I’m not a bird. And I totally didn’t try to eat any beans…

Yesterday, Mira offered me a free Mouth of Truth.

Mira: Hey. Do you want my gently used Mouth of Truth?

That sounds like a nice thing initially, but then I realized this was the Mouth of Truth I gave her a few months back. We’re just bouncing it back and forth like a giant volleyball.

Meanwhile, Lolly seemed to be smitten with me. She said there was something magnetic about me that day.

Lolly: Hello, Mr. J. May I just say, there's something extra, um, magnetic about you today.
Lolly: I don't know why, but I just want to follow you around town today... Sheesh, what's wrong with me?

I figured it was probably Katrina’s doing somehow. But when I went to her shop to find out, it was too late. She closed up shop at 7 p.m., which seems so early for a fortune teller.

Today, Aurora asked me to dig up her time capsule for her. She then gave me the dawn tee that was inside.

Aurora: Oh, right! Let me thank you with a gift. Please accept my dawn tee!

Rolf asked me for some furniture, and I decided to give him the Mouth of Truth. (Since Mira can’t handle the Truth.) Rolf gave me a low screen in return.

Outside of Re-Tail, Mira was talking about Cyrus. She said he’s a real wild cat, and she thinks he used to be a hooligan! 😆

Mira: The dude who works in the recycle shop is a real wild cat! Something tells me he used to be a hooligan.
Mira: He probably turned his life around to settle down with his cute wife! A hardworking former bad boy!
From hooligan to woolly gent?

That’s an interesting theory, and I don’t think I’ve seen this dialogue before!

Have a happy Halloween, everyone! I don’t plan on playing New Leaf for the event, but I may play City Folk and New Horizons. Have a great time, and I’ll see you again in November! 🎃

  1. Your ACNL blog is nice to read, it feels nostalgic. I love that people still play this game, I still play it too, and I’m happy that people still play and love it!
