Aurora’s Coconut Cake

On December 4th, I shot down a balloon present! Ooh, what could be inside?

Inside, I found a milk can. That was a milky way of spoiling my excitement. 🥛

Mira was describing someone with two horns, brown fur, and a strong profile…

Mira: He's got two horns, fluffy, brown fur, and a strong profile...

She was talking about Jingle, of course.

Mira: You know, when you put it into words like that, Jingle sounds like a real weirdo! I hopped!
I think you just put yourself on the naughty list.

Now that December is here, villagers have started to give hints about what they want for Toy Day. I’m going to list the hints I’ve received so far, although it isn’t many:

  • Cube: something aqua
  • Inkwell: white furniture
  • Mira: black appliance

I probably need to speak more to the villagers who I’m not focused on getting photos from. 😛

On December 5th, Inkwell asked for some furniture to replace his cupid bench. I checked Re-Tail, the lost and found, T&T Emporium, and Harv’s shop, but I couldn’t find any rectangular furniture. But when I checked my museum exhibit rooms, I found a Kiki and Lala sofa I wasn’t using. I gave it to Inkwell, and he loved it!

Inkwell: Wow! A Kiki and Lala sofa! It's perfect!

In return, he just gave me the Cupid bench. Not bad, but it’s still not his photo.

When I played again on Sunday (the 15th), I saw that snow now covers the ground and festive lights adorn many trees. 🎄 The holidays are getting close!

Today, Molly was sitting on the metal bench in town. She asked me to join her for a bit, so I did! Molly is always so cute. 🙂

Jeremiah told me he needed Aurora for something, and he asked if I would go and get her. He said he was too tired to do it himself.

Jeremiah: the thing is, I'm super sleepy right now and would probably fall right over if I tried to leave the house.

I agreed to fetch Aurora, but first, I ran into Lolly. She asked me to bury a time capsule for her…so I did that too.

Lolly: sorry to spring this on you, but would you be interested in burying my time capsule for me?

I ultimately found Aurora by the flower clock, just outside of town hall.

Aurora stands by the flower clock in Animal Crossing: New Leaf (ACNL) for Nintendo 3DS.

I told her the news, and we headed over to Jeremiah’s house. Jeremiah just wanted to know if he could have some of the coconut cake he smelled her cooking yesterday.

Jeremiah: I was walking by your house yesterday, Aurora, and I caught a whiff of some coconut cake.

Aurora didn’t appreciate the fact that Jeremiah was lurking around her house. 😛

Aurora: Huh?! You were lurking around my house to spy on my snacks? That'd be creepy if it weren't so sad.

But she said she couldn’t share the cake anyway, because she already ate it all!

Aurora: Anyway, I can't share with you, because I've eaten everything.

She then stormed out of his house. Jeremiah was going to give me a reward, but my pockets were full. So he said he’ll mail it instead.

I’m not sure if I’ll play on Toy Day (Christmas Eve) this year or not. It may depend on whether I get enough gift hints before then. But regardless, I will be back at some point later this month with another entry. I’ll see you then. Happy holidays!

The Clock Trade

On Monday, Moose the mouse was camping at the campsite. He said he just kept running and running until he got here.

Moose: I was really focused on running. I ran and ran and ran. And when I looked up, I was in this town!

Keep running, man. Keep running.

Yesterday, Mira asked me to catch a coelacanth for her!

Mira: What I need now is to study a coelacanth to learn this tail-attack thing!

I try to complete requests for villagers when I still need their photos, but a coelacanth is just sooo rare. Besides, it wasn’t even snowing! So I declined her request.

Mira: Huh? Really? But it would be so easy for you, dude...
No it wouldn’t. Do it yourself, superhero.

Hornsby gave me a leaf tee, and I decided to put it on. I know it’s not very wintry, but I needed to change my clothes. They were getting a little stinky. 😛

Me wearing a leaf tee that Hornsby gave me.

I played again a few hours later, and guess what? It did start snowing, after all.

Snow flurries fall in Forest.

It was too late to go back and accept a declined request, but Mira actually had another request for me. There was one problem…

Mira: Oh! I need to run something by you. I'm collecting signatures for the Practice-Waddling Day issue!

It was for a petition! I can’t travel to another town to collect signatures, so I had to decline this request too! Oof, two in one day? I’m never going to get her photo. 😖

Remember the Mouth of Truth I gave Rolf last month? I found it up for sale in Re-Tail today!

Reese: Oh, the Mouth of Truth? This item belongs to Rolf from here in Forest.

I bought it back, even though it cost me over 6,000 bells. And when I went back outside, Aurora told me she had a dream about a Mouth of Truth. Sounds like a nightmare. 😛

Aurora: I keep having this dream about a Mouth of Truth.

She wanted to buy mine for 2,280 bells, and I agreed to the deal. It’s kinda funny how this keeps getting passed around between me and my villagers. Maybe it’s why none of us have any fingers. 😉

If you didn’t get that joke, it’s because of the legend of the real Mouth of Truth in Italy. Supposedly, it’s like a lie detector. Put your hand in its mouth, and then say something. If you’re lying, legend says it will bite off your hand. 😛

Fortunately, Mira had an easier request for me today: Catch a river fish. I caught a bitterling for her, and she rewarded me with a lightning tee.

There was another camper at the campsite today: Phoebe the ostrich…or phoenix. She’s much better to have around than Moose, that’s for sure. But of course, my town is full anyway.

Phoebe, at the campsite: I'll have to remember this place! Sparky!

Cube wanted to trade away his cube clock that I gave him! I guess he’s trying to turn back time. But even more interestingly, he’s trying to trade it for another clock!

Cube: Let's make a deal! Wanna trade your cabin clock for my cube clock?
He had time on his side, but so did I.

I agreed that it was time to trade. After all, the deal was second to none.

Later on, I regifted the cube clock to Inkwell when he asked me for some furniture. But he only gave me a fish in return!

Inkwell: Oh! I might as well give you my old crucian carp as a reward!
Man, that’s a raw deal.

I finished up my night with a concert at Club LOL. I asked K.K. Slider for a random song, and he performed “K.K. Waltz” for me. My former villagers Hamlet and Pashmina were also at the show.

I’ll see you all again in December! Never Stop Crossing!

Pressure Point

On Sunday (November 10th), Hornsby asked me to dig up his time capsule for him.

Look! I dug up a time capsule!

I took it back to him, and he found his kung-fu tee inside…which he then gave to me. I’m not usually fond of clothes as rewards, but this shirt really packs a punch. 😉

Hornsby: Yeah! My kung-fu tee, aged to perfection!

I was finding a lot of dandelion puffs around town, so I wanted to try something. I picked up five of them, and then went by my statue fountain. I blew them all. Away.

The next day, I found three new dandelions. These things are immortal!

I blew the seeds away, thinking I had won the fight.
But they came back with a fury, and just overnight
!

Yesterday, Aurora was talking about gardening. She said she has to get her hands all grubby to do it right. 😆

Aurora: Hee hee! Sometimes you just have to do a little gardening and get your hands all grubby.
Good luck with the gardening, Aurora! I’m rooting for you!

Jeremiah gave me a cheese floor, saying he thought of me as soon as he saw it!

Jeremiah: Since you're always helping me out, I got you a little present. It's a cheese floor!

So you’re saying I’m cheesy? You may have a sharp wit, but you should brie grate-ful that I have a gouda sense of humor about it!

Friga the penguin was camping at the campsite. I don’t mind if she chills here for a day, but I don’t need her moving in. I already have two penguins, and that’s enough. I don’t need a whole penguin colony in Forest!

Friga, at the campsite: Hey there, I'm Friga. I'm just in Forest camping for a little while.

Speaking of penguins, Cube seemed to be listening in as Aurora gave me a new nickname: Cupcake.

Aurora: Great! So from now on, I'll call you cupcake!

Today, Gulliver was down on the beach, talking about geoglyphs and alpacas. So I knew he was headed to Peru.

Gulliver: The country I was headed to has huge pictures drawn right on the ground called geoglyphs.

If he misses out on seeing the geoglyphs, I guess he’ll just have to draw his own conclusions. Or just alpaca his bags for the next trip. 😉

But anyway, he’ll be sending a gift in the mail tomorrow. Just as a reminder, I do have a Gulliver Guide if you ever get stumped by one of his clues!

I listened in on a conversation between Mira and Aurora, and Aurora was crying! Mira told her to get a hold of herself, and I wasn’t sure what was going on.

Mira: Hey! Take it easy! Get a hold of yourself, Aurora! People are gonna think I'm bullying you!

When Mira noticed me, she told me to get out of here! How rude!

Mira: Dude! This isn't a show! Get out of here!

But then Aurora explained why she had been crying. Mira taught her a massage pressure point, and it hurt when she pushed it.

Aurora: Mira taught me a massage pressure point, and it hurt so much when I pushed it...

Mira said she couldn’t tell if Aurora was brave, or if she was being a baby. I think Mira is still pushing all the wrong buttons.

Mira: I can't tell if you're brave or a baby! I hopped!

After the conversation ended, I spoke with Mira again. She asked me to play a game of hide-and-seek, and I agreed. She gave me ten minutes to find her, Aurora, and Hornsby. I found Aurora so quickly that the game starting banner was still on-screen.

Aurora: Hey! How did you know where I was?!

And just a few seconds later, I also found Mira nearby.

Mira: Waaah! You scared me!

Even though it took me another minute or so to find Hornsby, I still won the game in under two minutes. That was a quick win! Mira rewarded me with a modern wood sofa.

Mira: Heh heh! Here you go! It's a sweet modern wood sofa!

I could’ve spent eight minutes sitting on the sofa and still found all of you in time. 😛

See you all next time!
