Zodiac Rabbit

Today is New Year’s Day, and I headed over to the event plaza to meet up with Isabelle. She gave me a zodiac rabbit to celebrate 2023 being the year of the rabbit in the Chinese zodiac.

Isabelle: This year, I feel that rabbits are the really in thing, so I got some rabbit decorations to celebrate.

I took it home to take a close look at it; it’s pretty cute!

Meanwhile, Hornsby wanted to start off 2023 with a nap. Not a bad idea!

Hornsby: Maybe I'll start 2023 off the right way--with a nice, big nap. Schnozzle!

My friend Beth started off the new year by making a new town, called Cassia. I took the train over for a visit, my first time playing multiplayer in years!

Celebrating the New Year at the face-cutout standee.

Her town obviously doesn’t have much to see yet, and most of her villagers aren’t that great–except for Fauna, who was already asleep. But I checked out the town, and also the drive-in campground (where we tried to stay warm by the campfire).

Warming by the fire.

Pavé was visiting, so we checked out his RV…and scared him repeatedly by honking the horn. 😛

I also did the Shrunk Funk Shuffle in Beth’s tent, and she could only watch helplessly. She has a long way to go before she unlocks it herself. 😛

Back in Forest, Luna told me that Wyatt from Sunville was my most recent dream visitor. Thanks for stopping by!

Have a great 2023, everyone! See you all next time! 🙂

Runaway Dog, New Year’s Eve

On Thursday, Gulliver sent me a skeleton figurine in the mail for helping him out last time.

Tonight, Cherry told me that if she ever runs away from home, she could just live in my upstairs room. But I never agreed to any such thing! Maybe if she’d give me her photo, I’d consider it. 😉

Cherry: If I ever run away from home, I'm coming to your house! You can let me stay on the second floor!
I’d love to call it an imposition.

But then she realized that she wouldn’t need to run away from home, because she lives alone anyway. Did she really not realize that until now? 😛

Cherry: Course, I live alone. So there really isn't any reason to run away... What what.
I need to change that catchphrase of hers.

Meanwhile, Inkwell was explaining the concept of stacking bells to me.

Inkwell: Just tap and hold a money icon, and drag it to another money icon to consolidate things a bit.

He said it was so convenient. Wouldn’t it be more convenient if it did that automatically? Maybe someday. 😉

Inkwell: Heh heh! It's so convenient! Give it a try, in ink!

The northern lights were shining in the sky tonight, and they looked pretty with the big countdown timer at the event plaza.

Tonight was New Year’s Eve, of course, so Isabelle gave me some sparkling cider, and I bought a blue New Year’s hat from Crazy Redd. At midnight, I brought in the new year of 2023 as the fireworks ensued. Happy New Year! 🎆🥂

The moment that 2023 began.

Lolly and Rolf were also there for the fireworks and the celebration. 🙂

Rolf: Woohoo! Fireworks are just cool!

Since the “2023” fireworks at midnight were partially blocked by the town tree, I took another photo of them an hour later. Happy 2023!

According to Luna, my recent dream visitors have been Luigi from Luigi and David from Natrona. Thanks for stopping by!

I’ll be back with another entry tomorrow for the new zodiac figure. Have a happy and safe new year, everyone! 🙂

Note: I also attended the New Year’s Eve festivities in City Folk and New Horizons if you’d like to check out those blog entries as well: NYE in ACCFNYE in ACNH

Cherry’s Dusting Tips

Last Wednesday, I spoke with Lolly in Re-Tail. She wanted to buy herself a new friend: a lucky cat! 😛

Lolly: I love the lucky cat. And I don't normally make impulse purchases, but...

Saharah was in town, and she installed some new wallpaper and carpeting for me (at a cost of 3,000 bells). She put in a concrete wall and a cheese floor.

A concrete wall and cheese floor in my house. Thanks, Saharah!

The winter season is here, and it brings some beautiful sights with it, including the northern lights! I took this photo from my central bridge.

The Northern Lights in the sky above Forest.

I also went just south of town hall for another great shot of the aurora borealis (and a geyser eruption as well).

A geyser and the northern lights.

Last Friday, Bill was camping at the campsite. He ran a long way to get to Forest. I’m not sure why he ran, but maybe he was just ducking his responsibilities.

Bill: I wonder how far I ran... Maybe a hundred miles or so?

My villagers have been dropping frequent Toy Day hints lately.

Inkwell: This year I'm hoping my Toy Day present is white!

I don’t have all of my Toy Day hints yet, but I do have a lot. Here’s a list of what they all want so far:

  • Cube: clothes
  • Cherry: white furniture
  • Cube: gray clothes
  • Hornsby: something black
  • Inkwell: white clothes
  • Jeremiah: orange furniture
  • Lolly: a toy
  • Molly: furniture

However, I think I may skip the Toy Day event in New Leaf this year. After playing all four versions of the event last year (for a comparison blog entry I posted this month), I think I’m going to take it easier this year. I plan on playing more of ACCF’s event, plus a bit of New Horizons (since I’m still playing that game daily anyway).

Today, Cherry asked me to visit her house, so we arranged a time. When I arrived, she just kept talking about cleaning up dust in her house by using tape.

Cherry: You can pick up dust from a carpet using tape!
She went through this bit of dialogue four times in a row!

Once she finally changed the subject, she asked me to buy something from her. I purchased an asteroid, and then I just hung out for a few minutes before leaving. She never gave me a gift, but she’ll probably send one in the mail.

Gulliver was down on the beach, talking about mariachi bands. I knew he was headed to Mexico, so he’ll be sending me something in the mail too.

Gulliver: There are live mariachi bands that perform such fun, lively music it makes you dance, even in the heat!

According to Luna, Mario from Mushroom has been my latest dream visitor. Thanks for stopping by, Mario!

If I don’t post again this week, have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! See you all again soon! 🙂
