Zodiac Tiger for 2022

Last night, I spotted two auroras in town, so I just had to take a screenshot!

Aurora stands near her house as the northern lights shine in the sky above her.

Well okay, it was one Aurora and one aurora. But close enough. 😉

It was New Year’s Eve, and Isabelle gave me some sparkling cider.

Isabelle: You can't ring in the new year without sparkling cider, am I right?

Even though my focus was on the countdown in New Horizons, I also managed to see the new year arrive in New Leaf as well. The times on my two systems were about a minute and a half apart.

Happy New Year! I hope this year is filled with fun and friendship for you all!

I was just a bit disappointed that my town tree was obscuring my view of the big “2022” fireworks in the sky!

I played again today (New Year’s Day), and Big Top told me he was tired from staying up too late last night.

Big Top: Happy New Year! It's only the first day of the year, and I'm already tired. I stayed up too late last night.
Me too, big guy.

He said he was going to start off the new year with a nice, big nap. Sounds like a good idea. 😂

Big Top: Maybe I'll start 2022 off the right way--with a nice, big nap. At the zoo!

At the event plaza, Isabelle said that she decided that tigers need more respect.

Isabelle: This year, I decided that tigers need more respect, so I wanted to honor them with some tiger decorations.

She gave me a zodiac tiger…but it’s because 2022 is the year of the tiger in the Chinese zodiac. It’s not because of Isabelle’s whims. I don’t know why she’s trying to take credit for that. 😛 But anyway, here’s the zodiac tiger on display in my house.

The zodiac tiger in New Leaf.
My ox went into storage for the next 12 years. 😛

As I went up to Main Street, I heard the familiar sound of someone falling into a pitfall. 😂 So I quickly ran back across the tracks, and I found Big Top standing behind the face-cutout standee. However, he made no mention of falling into a pit. He was probably just trying to play it cool…acting like he didn’t fall in. 😎

Big Top: One of my resolutions is to think of a resolution!
Or you could resolve not to fall into obvious traps? 😉

According to Luna, my recent dream visitors include OriginM from Origin and Teren from DalyCity. Thanks for stopping by, and have a great 2022, everyone! 🙂

Toy Day 2021

Last week, I tested out the Mii mask feature for the very first time in New Leaf! This is my old Yukon Cornelius Mii, that some of you may remember from my old ACCF videos.

Harriet: Ta-daaaaa! All finished!
You deserve a medal! Hmm, should it be silver or gold?

But don’t expect to see me wearing a Mii mask often…or maybe not ever. 😂 I just did it once to get a screenshot for a video I was working on. 😛

On Sunday, I spotted my first igloo of the season.

An igloo in Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

Sterling the eagle was inside. He’s alright, but my town is full and I probably wouldn’t invite him to move in anyway.

Sterling: Hey! Do you live in this town?

Yesterday, I finished up getting all of my Toy Day hints. This should make things much easier for Christmas Eve.

Rolf: I thought I'd ask Jingle for an electrical appliance this year for Toy Day!

A bit later, I spotted the northern lights up in the sky.

The northern lights shine in the skies over Forest.

Today, I started the game up and met Jingle over by my zen bell. He gave me his sack of gifts to hand out to all of my villagers.

Jingle: I'm going to sneak into everyone's houses and leave them presents! Don't tell anyone! Um, I know...
No you’re not. I am.

Inkwell’s house was nearby, so he was the first one to get a present. I gave him a snow shirt, and he was swimming with excitement.

Inkwell: A snow shirt!

I continued around town, giving everyone the gifts they asked for. Here is the full list of what my villagers wanted, and what they got:

  • Agent S: a black umbrella – bat umbrella
  • Aurora: green wallpaper – a green wall
  • Big Top: a brown toy – a foosball table
  • Boots: a white plant – a moth orchid
  • Cube: yellow food – a banana
  • Hornsby: a red toy – an executive toy
  • Inkwell: white clothes – snow shirt
  • Lolly: beige wallpaper – paw-print wall
  • Molly: an aqua doll – fancy doll
  • Rolf: an orange electrical appliance – deluxe washer

The only thing I had to stop and think about were the toys: Big Top wanted a brown toy, and Hornsby wanted a red toy. The two items were an executive toy and a foosball table. Fortunately, I remembered that the executive toy has red balls…even if I didn’t remember the foosball table being brown, it makes sense if the legs and/or frame are made of wood.

Aurora: Santa, you're amazing! Somehow you knew exactly what I wanted.

But it all worked out, and I delivered everything perfectly. I returned to Jingle, and he rewarded me with a festive wreath.

Jingle: Let's see... Yup yup! You've indeed delivered everything perfectly, kid!

I got everything done in about half an hour (which included my normal walk around town), so I’m thankful for that. I have other Jingles to track down on this Christmas Eve…

According to Luna, my recent dream visitors include Jacks from Potion and Leo from 80sville. Thanks for stopping by!

If you haven’t yet seen my recent New Leaf video, here it is:

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, everyone! 🙂 🎄🎄🎄

Similar But Different

On Monday, Inkwell told me that he had to let out a yell. So this is what he yelled:

Inkwell, yelling: I've got the ears of an octopus!
But you are an octopus. And you don’t have ears.

Yesterday, Gulliver was in town, talking about motorcycles and pho. So I knew he was headed to Vietnam.

Gulliver: ...Phooooooo! That's right! It's Vietnam! I remember now!

Later, I found a lost item (a book) on the ground. I asked all seven of the villagers that were awake, and it didn’t belong to any of them. I even had to search through the museum just to ask Lolly about it. 😛

Handing a book to Lolly.

But it didn’t belong to any of them…so I knew it had to belong to one of the three lazy villagers that were sleeping.

Today, I continued my search. It turned out that the book belongs to Hornsby. He thanked me for returning it by giving me a six-ball tee.

Hornsby: Hey! This is my book! I was looking everywhere for this thing! I figured it was gone forever.

When I checked the mail, I found a conical straw hat from Gulliver over in Vietnam.

Toy Day is approaching, and many of my villagers have been giving me hints on what types of gifts they would like this year.

Cube: Anyway, I'm really hoping my present this year is yellow.

I still need several more clues, but here’s a summary of what they want so far:

  • Agent S: an umbrella
  • Aurora: green wallpaper
  • Boots: a plant
  • Cube: yellow food
  • Inkwell: white clothes
  • Lolly: beige wallpaper
  • Molly: an aqua doll

Once you know what everyone wants, the Toy Day event is rather quick and easy (at least compared to earlier games). So I’m planning on taking part in the event this year. So unless plans change, look for a new blog entry on Christmas Eve.

Boots asked me for a new piece of furniture to replace his portable toilet. He wanted something similar, but different.

Boots: I think I need to swap out my old portable toilet for a new piece that's similar...but different.

I saw that there was a super toilet for sale at Re-Tail, so I bought that. I gave it to Boots, and he loved it! He rewarded me with a wobbelina.

Boots: Wow! A super toilet! It's perfect!

It’s completely insane that I connected the dots on this, but the phrase “similar but different” could be abbreviated S.B.D. You know another phrase that starts with those same letters? Silent, but deadly. How appropriate for a toilet, too. 😛

According to Luna, my recent dream visitors include Cupcake from Pizza and Jacob from Gooston. Thanks for stopping by, and Happy Holidays! See you soon! 🙂
