Today, Big Top sold me a sleek carpet. I already had a sleek sofa in my newest room, and I really like the sleek set. So I figured maybe I’ll make that room a sleek room. The carpet isn’t quite as sleek as the furniture, but it’ll do.
When I went back outside, Tex told me that he heard other people were calling me killer. He asked if he could call me killer too. Sure, if you want to be on my hit list.
I went to work a shift at the cafe, but Rooster wouldn’t let me because my pockets were too full.
So he told me to lighten my load and then come back…
I ate a mango that was in my pockets and then I was able to work. I earned superb coffee beans once again today. When I went outside, Tabby asked me what I thought of her fashion. I responded with “what is it?” and she wasn’t very happy about that.
Next, I went up to Main Street. I saw my former villager Harry there, so I said hello.
After having some fossils assessed by Blathers and updating my dream, I went into the post office. Today is the first of the month, and that means new DLC is available! August is fireworks month in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, so this month’s item is a fireworks table.
I also went into T.I.Y., and the Nooklings have started selling fireworks as well. Today they had this fountain firework.
I bought it and then returned to town. I stopped in my house to take a look at the fireworks table.
And over in my park, I set down the fountain firework to watch it go.
It’s pretty cool; it lasted about ten seconds or so. After that, I went up to the Happy Homes Showcase. I had heard there was another SpotPass home sent out by Nintendo, so I went to check it out. It belonged to Kate from the town of “Lizards!” It’s a very nice home, but I was a bit creeped out by her mannequin.
I guess that’s just a pacifier, but the pacifier itself looks a bit like a shrunken face. Anyway, Kate’s kitchen was far less creepy.
Another room of hers had what I thought was a slow-moving race track. But it’s actually a conveyor-belt sushi! I’d rather have a race track.
And her mermaid room looked nice. That must have cost her a whole lot of medals.
Later on, my friend Wendy came over to shop. Tabby had asked me for some furniture, so I caught a fish for her. As I gave it to her, Wendy burned her with a sparkler.
The interesting thing is that Wendy’s Super T&T had two firework items, the fountain firework and a sparkler. But my T.I.Y. (which is the next step up) only had one firework for sale! What’s up with that?
Anyway, we made a brief trip to the island. We played one tour, a gardening tour, which only earned us three medals each, in nearly five minutes. I’ll be sure not to pick that tour again anytime soon.

After working a shift and earning superb coffee beans, I went in to say goodbye to Katt. That’s right, this is her last day in Forest! I went inside and did a happy dance. Katt started dancing with me, clearly oblivious to the fact that I hate her guts.
Back outside, Rory suggest a new public works project: a traffic signal!
That didn’t sound half bad. But when I went to take a look at it, it’s not quite as nice as I pictured. Where is the yellow light?
The red light tells me to stop. I have no immediate plans to go forward and install it.
And in T.I.Y., the Nooklings had an ogre mask for sale! Very cool!
I put it in my house, but not somewhere you’d normally see it. You’d only see it if you rotated the camera around. And at some point in the future, someone is going to move the camera around in my house…not knowing/remembering that it’s there…and get freaked out. It might not be soon, but it will happen eventually. I just know it. 😛
He hung out for a while and gave me a tree standee. After he left, I was able to take a look at it:
I took it to my basement for now. But while I was down there, I grabbed my double-neck guitar so that I could take it to Re-Tail for customization. Once there, I told Cyrus to paint it black.
His projects always take half an hour to complete, so I continued on with my daily tasks. That included working a shift at the cafe. Unfortunately, I’m used to seeing Tabby and Katt in there sometimes. But they’re small beans compared to what walked in the cafe today! It was the queen of ugly animals, Jambette herself!
But her campsite wasn’t the only tent in town. That crazy “cousin” Redd also popped a tent in front of the tree plaza. I went with a hunch and bought a jolly painting.
A bit later, Rory approached me and suggested that we build a blue bench in Forest. While that’s not exactly an exciting addition, it is nice to finally have a new public works project suggested since it had been a while.
After a quick shopping run on Main Street, I returned to Re-Tail to pick up my guitar.
After that, I made one last stop: the island. Even though I generally only do tours when I’m on Wi-Fi with other players, I decided to play the official ore tour by myself today. I earned a gold Tortimer award and eight medals.
