A Night at the Museum

Late last night, I played some New Leaf with my friend Wendy. We toured my museum, which is something I rarely do.

Tex: Yeeee-haw. You meeting someone here? Perfect spot for it, cowboy. The aquarium is looking really nice now that it has a bigger selection of fish in it.

Jeff and Wendy watching fish in the aquarium.Jeff and Wendy in the aquarium at the museum. We hung out at my town for a while, and went to her town as well.

Jeff, lying in bed: Light to no coma.Me and Wendy wearing wet suits at the top of a cliff, ready to jump off.And we also went out to the island.

Kapp'n, singing: As me wet shell hung to dry (see, I'm a prudish guy), on me butt hang a coconut. Shell fit just fine. Much better than mine!I discovered something interesting while there. When you’re sitting in the chairs at the island, waiting for the boat, it won’t leave while you’re doing an emotion. So I did my dancing emotion, which lasts quite long compared to the regular emotions, and it had to wait for it to finish before the boat would leave. It seemed to let me restart the emotion too, so I can see that getting abused once more people get that emotion.

As for today, not a whole lot was going on in Forest. I worked in the cafe and got my first three customers perfect. But my fourth customer was Phyllis, who I didn’t have ample notes on. She drank the coffee, said it was “not bad,” and then walked out. I assume it wasn’t perfect, but she didn’t give an indication what was wrong with it either.

In the Dream Suite, I updated my dream town (as I do every day). Luna informed me that 1,021 people have visited Forest in their dreams. That’s the first time I’ve seen it top 1,000, so thank you all for stopping by!

Luna: Records state the number of clients who have experienced a dream about Forest is 1,021.I also made a trip to the island for some bug-catching tonight. When I returned, I had enough money to finish paying off my modern police station! It will be completed tomorrow!

Isabelle: We've met our collection goal for the modern police station project! It should be complete tomorrow!

Wind Turbine & Brewster’s Gyroid

I worked a shift at the cafe today, and one of the out-of-town customers was Fauna. She was one of the first new characters announced for Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Too bad they didn’t keep her Japanese name, Doremi.

Fauna: I'd like a cup of coffee, please.I did well at my second job today, and I earned some superb coffee beans. But then Brewster told me about how a customer once showed him a gyroid, and he couldn’t get it out of his mind. So he made one of his own, and he gave it to me!

Brewster: So I tried making one of my own... It's...not so easy to do. Coo.It’s called a brewstoid, and it looks a lot like him. It’s a bit creepy, actually.

The brewstoid (gyroid) that Brewster gave me.And yesterday, I got a suggestion from apple-cupcake on Tumblr. She said I should leave my toy hammer out, so dream visitors can use it to beat up Tabby and Katt. That sounded like a great idea to me, so I left my toy hammer near my town tree.

My toy hammer sitting near the town tree.I’m not going to leave it there forever, but I’ll try to leave it for at least a few days. So if you’d like to play around with the toy hammer and/or check out my town, my dream address is 4300-2003-9889 (update: it’s now 5D00-000F-7611). You can also find it in the left-hand column of this blog. Have fun in Forest!

I saw Benedict fishing in a holding pond. He said if he catches a big fish, he’s going to rub it in everyone’s faces. That’s pretty hilarious if taken literally, but I don’t think he’s going to catch a big fish in a tiny pond. Sorry, Ben.

Benedict: A huh huh huh! If I nab a big fish, I'm gonna rub it in everyone's faces, uh-hoo!After that, I made my way down to my brand new wind turbine!

My new wind turbine PWP.And of course I attended the project completion ceremony for the wind turbine. Hooray!

The completion ceremony for the wind turbine PWP.With that done, I went up to Main Street for my shopping run. T.I.Y. had the song “Pondering” for sale, although it has a questionable album cover.

Timmy: Ah, Pondering! A fine item, yes? When I returned to town, I spotted Phineas! He gave me a “Skilled Bug Catcher” badge. This is my 9th badge.

I got the Skilled Bug Catcher badge! It's proof I've caught a lot of bugs!Isabelle said Forest was still underdeveloped, so I decided to put in a police station. Even though I like Booker better than Copper, I went with the modern police station. The classic one looks too much like a dilapidated outhouse.

Lloid: Hey, contribute to a campaign to fund a modern police station!Later on, I went up to Club LOL to watch K.K. perform. He sang K.K. Groove for me.

K.K.: You back, Mack? You must be digging the cheers that I'm bringing to your ears.

A Disheartening Disconnection

Aurora was finally feeling better today, and she thanked me for taking medicine to her the past few days. She gave me a mini dharma as a reward. She also said if I get sick, she’ll nurse me back to health. Uhh, that won’t be necessary.

Aurora: Thanks for taking good care of me. If you ever catch a cold, I'll nurse you back to health, b-b-baby!Rolf also approached me today, asking if he was an animal, what kind of animal would he be?

Rolf: Hey, Jeff! Question. If I were an animal, what kind of animal would I be?Well he is an animal of course, so I said he would be a tiger. For some reason, he got really mad about that.

Rolf: What?! Oh. Yeah. Real imaginative. THAT'S WHAT I ACTUALLY AM!It seems like Rolf was more likable in City Folk.

Anyway, Big Top asked me for a new greeting. So I told him to say “junk in my trunk.”

Big Top: Junk in my trunk! Yay! Do I sound cool or WHAT?And when I ran into Aurora again, she suggested a wind turbine as a town project! YESSS!

Aurora: I'm just hoping you'll consider a wind turbine for the next public works project.I’ve been planting a lot of flowers around town, so I decided to check my town status. But all they said was that I still need more town projects. I guess they won’t comment about the trees and flowers until you have a certain number of projects? So I decided to build a new one.

I considered three possibilities: the police station, a third bridge, and of course the wind turbine. But my decision was an easy one when I realized that the police station and bridge cost more money than I currently had on hand. So I picked out a good spot for my wind turbine.

The spot on my cliff that I chose for my wind turbine PWP.And I paid it off right then and there.

Isabelle: We've met our collection goal for the wind turbine project! It should be complete tomorrow!I ended my game for the moment, but I started it back up around 10:15pm. I opened my gate for Friday Night Forest; Wendy and Valeria came over to visit. Some of my Youtube subscribers may remember Valeria from many of my early ACCF Wi-Fi Moments videos. Anyway, Wendy and I danced at Club LOL while Valeria did some shopping. Here, it looked like Wendy shot blue spikes out of her skirt. 😛

Jeff and Wendy dancing at Club LOL.Before long, Joey also came over to visit. He and Valeria joined Wendy and me in Club LOL.

Jeff, Valeria, Joey, Wendy, (and Shrunk) dancing in Club LOL.After we were done dancing, we headed to my house and hung out there for a while. Joey’s 3DS battery was dying, so he had to leave. After he did, Dash came in to take his spot. Some people might try to tell you I used the toilet in my wheat field, but they can’t prove it.

Jeff uses the surprise emotion while standing in the wheat. When we went outside, I spotted some pitfall seeds Dash had buried. I was able to dig one of them up, but I fell into a different one before I could dig it up. Wendy also fell into one.

Jeff and Wendy struggling to get out of pitfalls buried by Dash.Dash soon told me that he found a time capsule. Not long after he did, Benedict asked me to dig his up!

Benedict: I'm thinking it might be about time to open up that time capsule you buried.I went and got it for him, and he opened it up. It contained a kettle, which he then gave to me. How exciting.

Benedict: I put a kettle in there? Wow, I totally forgot about that!We then headed off to the island. We first did a balloon-hunting tour. Of course, the play area was littered with pitfall seeds.

Me in a pitfall, although the view of me is obscured by a passing balloon.Valeria won the balloon game; I got third place.

Tortimer: Valeria gets 6 medals, Wendy gets 4 medals. We then did an item-matching game and a beetle-hunting game. Wendy won the latter.

Tortimer: Wendy gets 4 medals, Jeff gets 2 medals. After those tours were over, we did some bug-catching, fishing, and diving on the island. Here, a jellyfish stung Wendy as I surfaced with an acorn barnacle.

I got an acorn barnacle! Maybe I can grow a barnacle tree?We stayed on the island for a good while, and then headed back to Forest. But after just a few minutes, we disconnected. We had gone the whole night without disconnecting at all, but now it did. I was thinking the game saves when you return from the island, but it does not! My entire basket of catches was gone! The game doesn’t let you save while you’re on the island for some reason, which is really stupid. And I should have saved when we got back from the island, but I was thinking it already did that.

Be sure you save your game as soon as you get back from the island! I need to remember that, and it’s a good tip for all of you as well. I probably lost at least 100,000 bells worth of fish and bugs. After that, I was too peeved at the game to reopen my gate. I was having a good time tonight, but losing that much money completely ruined the night.
