What a Trip

When I started up the game tonight, I noticed I kept tripping!

Falling on my face after tripping. Now I thought that meant Katrina had to be in town somewhere, since I figured I was falling for Katrina. But despite covering my entire town twice, I never spotted her tent! Weird.

The bulletin board revealed that Super T&T is expanding! So they will be closed tomorrow, and I should have a bigger store on Tuesday!

Attention Customers: Super T&T is expanding! Sadly, this means we will be closed on June 24th for necessary remodeling. -Timmy and TommyWhen I talked to Aurora, she mentioned an Alyssa from Rosedale, who she met in a dream! She said Alyssa was a “pro listener.” Alyssa, if you happen to be reading this, hello! Feel free to leave a comment on this blog entry to let me know you saw this. But of course you don’t have to. 😛

Aurora: I had a very strange dream about someone called Alyssa from Rosevale.I then went to the cafe to work for Brewster. Unfortunately, Fuchsia was the only customer whose order I got completely correct.

Fuchsia: ...This is great! It's exactly what I was looking for!Still, Brewster rewarded me with some good coffee beans.

Brewster: ...Not a bad day's work. I'm going to pay you in good coffee beans. You can make a strong cup with those.Back outside, in the dark, I ran into something that frightened me: Tabby. It’s like when you play Ocarina of Time and a skeleton suddenly pops up out of the ground in front of you. Ahhhh!

Tabby: What's up?After regaining my composure, I continued on my trip around town. I saw Tex…

Tex: Right now, I feel like my room is like a sad baby crying out for its mother to feed it, cowboy.Uhh… what?? He was asking me to find him some furniture.

Tex: N-no, I'm not asking you to move in! Heh heh heh! I just need advice on small furniture. And at my town tree, I sat down to view my town history again. I noticed something I didn’t catch the first time. Take a look:

Grand opening of the Roost. June 14th, 2013: Tabby moved to town. June 14th, 2013: Grand opening of Shampoodle. The Roost? I did not realize Brewster’s cafe was called The Roost again in New Leaf; they’ve just called it the cafe up to this point.

After finding my four fossils and my money rock, I headed up to Main Street. Nook Homes had some Jello squares a sweets fence. I didn’t realize it was supposed to be a fence at first glance. Interesting.

Tom Nook: That sweets fence is a sample used when doing work on your fence, yes?And Super T&T had a Xbox One surveillance camera for sale.

Timmy: Ah, a surveillance camera! A fine item, yes? Before I ended my night, I returned to Re-Tail to sell my four fossils (since they were all duplicates). I ran into Benedict on the way; he asked me if he smells good.

Benedict: I have to ask you something, Jeff. Don't you think I smell good today? He sure did! Finger-lickin’ good!

My hair guide still isn’t quite done yet, but it’s getting close. It will be here soon! Sorry for the delay!

Tex’s Fake Out

Late last night, I was trying to find a tarantula in the midnight sun. In all the time I was searching, I only spotted one…but it disappeared around my train station. Maybe it hopped on a train out of town.

I talked to Tex, and he told me that he’s moving out of town.

Tex: So I've got some big news, Jeff. I'm moving away from Forest soon.He said he would be moving out on the 26th of this month, which would be next Wednesday.

Tex: I'm making my big exit on the 26th of this month. At least that's the plan, cowboy.I didn’t try to stop him. I forget the exact wording of the option I chose, but it was something along the lines of “okay” or “good luck.” However, he got insulted that I didn’t try to stop him!

Tex: Hey, wait a second! Aren't you going to tell me to stay? I thought we were good friends! So he said that because I didn’t ask him to stay, that means he needs to be a better friend to me. So now he’s staying! Ugh! Are you kidding me?!

Tex: Yeah, I'm staying! Maybe we can be the good friends that I, uh, thought we were! Then today, the rain returned. I went to the work in the cafe. I started off good, getting Aurora’s coffee just right.

Aurora: This is delicious! Just the way I like my coffee. It'd go great with some homemade coffee cake too.But Rory complained that I didn’t use the right beans. He didn’t specify which type of beans! Ugh! Why do tasks in Animal Crossing always have to be ridiculous guessing games?

Rory: ...But it's not quite perfect! It's OK, but I think you used a different type of coffee bean than what I wanted. After also messing up Molly’s cup of coffee, I finished up by getting Pelly’s coffee right (by sheer luck). I made two of the four customers’ orders correct, so Brewster rewarded me with some superb coffee beans.

Brewster: ...Excellent work. Today I'll pay you in superb coffee beans. These are the highest quality beans I stock. After that, I headed back out into the rain. I collected my four fossils (all of which were duplicates) and headed into Club LOL. After I gave Shrunk a mango, he taught me the disagreement emotion.

Shrunk: So, yeah, what do you think? I think this is the first time you've seen my Disagreement Joke!I didn’t spend as much time in Forest today, but that’s because I think I overdid it yesterday. I’ll be back with more tomorrow. Thanks for visiting!

Summer Solstice

Today is the summer solstice, the longest day of the year! The game celebrates the occasion in an unusual way: The sun doesn’t set all night! I really wish they would just make days longer in summer instead of just putting all the extra daylight into one day, but it does make for a unique night.

Isabelle: Hello, Mayor! Today is the Summer Solstice, so don't expect to see the moon at all tonight!Isabelle acts as the Tortimer of old, giving out gifts on holidays and special occasions. Today, she gave out ladder shades.

Me wearing the ladder shades I got from Isabelle during the summer solstice. The animals also talk about the occasion.

Molly: That means the sun won't set at all tonight! And I caught my first stinkbug today.

I caught a stinkbug! Yup, yup, that stinks all right! In Club LOL, Shrunk taught me the sleepy emotion. In other words…*YAWN*.

Shrunk: Have you heard? Yawns are contagious.Aurora was asking me some questions; when I was done, she said my key to happiness was raisin bread. She couldn’t be more wrong.

Aurora: According to your answers, you only need one thing to be truly happy. And that's...raisin bread!I tried to go work at the cafe again, but Brewster didn’t need my help today!

Brewster: Sorry... I don't really need any help right this moment...Later on, at 10:00, I opened my gate for Friday Night Forest. Nick came over…but we soon got disconnected. It was a different Nick from last week though. I reopened my gate, and Wendy came over, followed by Nick. But we soon disconnected again. I opened my gate for a third time; this time, Kyle, Dash, and Wendy came over.

Kyle, Dash, and Wendy join me in Forest. We first headed up to Main Street for some shopping.

Me and my visitors on Main Street. Wendy is entering the shoe shop Kicks.Next, we went into Club LOL for some dancing.

The four of us dancing at Club LOL.We stopped in the cafe, and then visited my house. Outside, the sun was still shining. Molly was busy doing her “business.”

Molly: All this extra daylight is making me very productive. I'm taking care of all kinds of business, agent #1!It was weird seeing fireflies in the sunlight.

Fireflies in daylight, thanks to the nighttime sunshine at the summer solstice. We soon headed out to the island. Interestingly enough, it was night on the island.

A dark sky on the island, despite it being the summer solstice. After some fishing and bug-hunting, we did a scavenger hunt tour and then returned to Forest. Even though I didn’t notice it earlier in the day, there was a cutout there to celebrate the summer solstice.

Using the face-cutout standee for the summer solstice. And somehow, I accidentally got pushed onto the edge of the town tree. And then I saw something that really surprised me! Once your tree is big enough to sit on the border of it, you are treated to a scrolling history of your town! Wow!

-The History of Forest- May 2nd, 2013: Mayor Jeff took office. May 4th, 2013: Tex moved to town.It tells the dates of when you started, when animals moved to town, when stores opened up, and how many visitors you’ve had. I was not expecting that at all. A nice surprise, for sure.

Of course, there’s always time for hammer fights.

Fighting with toy hammers.Around midnight, I ended the party multi-player session. Wendy wanted to see if her town tree was big enough to sit and see the town history, so she invited me over to try it out. Unfortunately, hers isn’t big enough yet. But we stopped to take a picture at her summer solstice cutout.

Me and Wendy poking our faces through the Summer Solstice cutout standee in her town. She also had some other visitors come to her town. James, Thomas, and Kyle stopped by at various points.

And I couldn’t help but notice that with this strange lighting, Isabelle resembled the Joker. I pointed it out and Wendy saw it too.

Isabelle looking like the Joker in this unusual sunlight.Wendy ended the session around 1:00 my time. That’s all for tonight, but I’ll be back with more tomorrow. Have a great weekend, everyone!
