Aurora & Aurora

On Wednesday night, Vivian informed me that we haven’t spoken in two weeks! Oops! That certainly wasn’t intentional, but I admittedly haven’t been playing as much New Leaf lately.

Vivian: Oh, we're on speaking terms again, I see? It's been 2 weeks. So I just assumed we were in a fight.

The fishing tournament was held today, and Aurora was the winner, with a 6.45 inch pond smelt. Molly finished in 2nd place, and Vivian was 3rd. Congrats to all the winners! (As usual, I didn’t participate.)

Chip, announcing the fishing tournament winner: Aurora!

That was a great performance by Aurora, but she wasn’t the only aurora in town tonight… I spotted the northern lights in the sky, so I stopped to take a picture from the dock.

They also looked good from outside of Hornsby’s house.

Tom (the cat) was hanging out at Club LOL, and he said he was missing Forest. K.K. Slider performed K.K. Country for me, Tom, and Hippeux.

Tom: Confession time: I came by because I was missing Forest. Isn't that just like me?

My recent dream visitors include Robyn from Yumeri, Brandon from Coolvill, and Peppone from Oldstone. Thank you all for stopping by, and have a great weekend! 🙂

Diving with Merka

Lolly told me that her plan for the new year included spending a lot of time with me. Aww, how sweet.

Lolly: It's good to come up with a plan for the year. My plan includes spending a lot of time with you, chap!

She then offered me her skeleton. I guess that’s one way to spend time together, with her skeleton in my pockets.

Lolly: Yay! I was hoping you'd agree, so I brought my skeleton with me.

Later on, Lolly informed me that I have a new reputation: She said I’m a pro listener. I’m okay with that.

Lolly: I hear you're a bit of a pro listener, chap.

Today, I decided to finally dig up the bamboo I had in town. It’s too much of a pain to keep digging up the new bamboo shoots that spread all over.

Rolf told me he was looking to replace his green net. That confused me for a second, because he was actually holding a net…a bug net. But he was talking about a furniture item, not a bug net. 🐞

Rolf: I'm thinking about redecorating my room, and I want to replace my green net. Definitely.

A single-space item was too small, but Harvey had some cornstalks for sale. Rolf was happy with the cornstalks, and he gave me a lawn mower in return.

After depositing some bells at the post office, my account balance reached 116 million bells.

Lolly asked me for an orange, so I checked my storage to see if I had any perfect oranges I could give her. Unfortunately, I was all out. But I saw that Merka was online, and she said she had some perfect oranges I could have. So I opened my gate, and she came over.

Jeff, to Merka: No, are you eating a leaf?

I gave her some perfect peaches in exchange for the oranges. I took an orange back to Lolly, and she loved it! She gave me a basketball hoop in return–definitely not what I was hoping for.

Merka hung out for a bit, and I offered her a sip of my sparkling cider that was left over from New Year’s Eve.

Merka enjoys some sparkling cider in ACNL.

She said it tasted good with the leaf in her mouth. 😂

We went swimming and diving, and she caught some new creatures. As for me, I caught crabs.

After we had some coffee, she needed some lunch. So I ended the party. But it was good to see her again after all this time!

Zodiac Rat 2020

Last night was New Year’s Eve. Isabelle was standing next to a large countdown clock at the event plaza, and she gave me a glass of sparkling cider.

Crazy Redd was also there, and I bought a blue New Year’s hat from him.

However, I didn’t stay for the final countdown. But I picked up the game again today, and Isabelle was again standing at the event plaza. She said she’s been thinking about mice, so she got some mice decorations.

Isabelle: This year, I had mice on my mind, so I got some mouse decorations to celebrate. Hey, why not?
Are you sure you’re a dog, not a cat?

So she gave me a zodiac rat; 2020 is the year of the rat on the Chinese zodiac. This is what it looks like:

At the event plaza, the countdown clock from last night has been replaced with a face-cutout standee that shows four people celebrating the new year.

Jeff pretends to celebrate the new year by sticking his head into the faceboard on New Year's Day.

My villagers were also talking about the new year. Boots told me he would be hugely successful in 2020.

Boots: So 2020 is the year I'll be hugely successful! I won't let you down!

But then he stopped to say that he’s actually successful every year. 😛 Typical Boots.

Boots: Well, I'm actually pretty successful every year! Ha ha!

Claudia told me about her new year’s resolution to sell her own workout video.

Claudia: One of mine is to finally market and sell my revolutionary workout video!

It’s called Fidget Yourself Fit.

Claudia: It's called Fidget Yourself Fit! You mostly just chew your fingernails and tap your feet. Feel the burn!

Even a caged tiger wished me a happy 2020!

Rolf, seemingly in a cage: Great to see you here in the mighty year 2020, J-bot!

According to Luna, my recent dream visitors include Jack from Evermore and Lydia from Pearl. Lolly also mentioned Velia from Grandesa. Thanks for stopping by, and have a great 2020, everyone! 🙂
