Flakes and Fish Sticks

On Monday, Rolf asked me to find some fruit for him. I gave him a perfect peach, and in return, he gave me a portable toilet. I hope it wasn’t a used one.

Rolf: A portable toilet will have to serve as a sign of my gratitude! Go ahead! Free for you!

Inkwell asked me to dig up his time capsule, so of course I helped out.

Inkwell: I kinda wanna see the time capsule you buried for me the other day!

It had a noble shirt inside, and it was my reward for digging it up.

Fang the wolf was camping at the campsite. If I hadn’t already adopted Mira as my 10th villager, there’s a good chance I may have asked Fang to move in.

Fang: Camping! You could also call it battling mosquitoes!

It was snowing on Wednesday, and I caught my first few snowflakes of the season. I can’t really use them yet, though.

Wow! A snowflake! I should be gentle with it so it doesn't melt!

But I did take advantage of the falling snow in another way: I caught two coelacanths! 🤑 And just two minutes apart, too! 😮

Me, after catching a coelacanth: Holy fish sticks!

And it didn’t take long for a villager to ask about them. Lolly wanted me to trade a coelacanth for a bold-check tee. Sorry, Lolly, but no.

I had another camper Wednesday, Astrid the kangaroo (and her joey).

Astrid: Hey, are you from around here?

There was also more time capsule business to attend to, because Rolf wanted me to bury his. I need to stop leaving an empty spot in my letters section; they go overboard with these things sometimes. 😛

Rolf: Heh. You can be the one in charge of getting it buried. I know, a real honor! You up for some digging?

With Toy Day coming up, a couple of my villagers have started to drop hints on what gifts they’d like. Today, Cube told me he wanted an umbrella! No offense, but that’s a boring gift. 😛

Cube: Anyway, between you and me, I asked Jingle for an umbrella this year.

I also know that Lolly wants a lamp. But I need many more hints still! I’ll likely play on Toy Day (Christmas Eve), since the event is pretty quick. There may or may not be a blog entry that day, though.

As for Desert Island Escape, I’ve now completed five of the ten advanced levels so far. I’ll be playing more soon!

According to Luna, my recent dream visitors include Shane from Juiyaa and Rubi from Tacoyaki. Thanks for stopping by!

Intermediate Rewards

On Monday, I got to see the inside of Mira’s house now that she’s all unpacked. She has astro furniture, which is pretty cool. And that spherical radar is one of the my favorite furniture items in the game.

I’ve continued to play Desert Island Escape lately, and I’ve been using a team of Celeste, Booker, and Stitches.

Booker: Ha! A nasty toxic snake is no match for me!

I particularly like that Celeste can fly over obstacles like water or mountains. It’s helpful for reaching new areas to set up camp.

After I completed the 6th and 7th intermediate levels in Desert Island Escape (which unlocked the advanced levels), I received this letter in the mail:

To Jeff,
Looks like you’re getting the hang of this Desert Island Escape thing! Here’s a little something special to keep you motivated: this water floor!

Here’s a screenshot of the flooring:

Last night, I cleared the last remaining intermediate levels. I received this letter from Nintendo today:

To Jeff,
Can you believe it?! You’ve cleared all intermediate levels of Desert Island Escape! You deserve this Wii U game shelf!

And here’s a look at my new Wii U game shelf:

Next up, I’ll have to tackle the advanced levels. And I’m now wondering if I ever completed all of the Desert Island Escape levels in Amiibo Festival. Because I really don’t remember. 🤔 (Update: I did complete them all on Wii U.)

Anyway, Aurora asked me to fetch Forest’s other penguin today, Cube. I brought him around, and Aurora said she found something that she thinks belongs to Cube.

Aurora: It was sticky with chocolate and covered in ants, so I knew it had to be yours.

It was a red-grid tee, and it was indeed Cube’s shirt. He thanked her for returning it, and then walked out.

Cube walks out of Aurora's house.

Aurora thanked me for helping out by giving me a gold screen wall.

Inkwell asked me to catch him for a cricket tonight, and without thinking, I declined the request. I’m kicking myself, because I still need his photo and I hate that I wasted the opportunity. Oof.

According to Luna, my recent dream visitors include Emma from Fishy and Joseph from Fun St. Thanks for stopping by!

New Superhero

When I played on November 4th, I received Cherry’s goodbye letter in the mail. She also attached another copy of her photo to the letter.

Inkwell asked me to bury a time capsule for him, so I agreed to help out.

Inkwell: I made a time capsule!

Moments later, I happened to be right by the modern clock when it illuminated at the top of the hour. So of course, I just had to snap a photo. This is still one of my favorite PWPs. 🙂

The modern clock lights up.

This past Monday, I updated the dream version of my town. My dream address is 5D00-000F-7611, if you’d like to visit while you still can.

Boots invited me to sit on the bench with him, so I did. I don’t recommend trying this in real life, especially with a real alligator. 😉

Hornsby asked me to dig up his time capsule, and it had a silk bloom tee inside. But he didn’t give me the shirt; he gave me his photo instead.

Hornsby: Woohoo! It's so good to see my time capsule again!

A bit later, Inkwell was enamored with a cardboard box I had been carrying in my pockets! 😆

Inkwell: You're the proud owner of the finest cardboard box I've ever seen!
I’m surprised it wasn’t the cat (Lolly) saying this.

He offered me 25 bells for it, and I agreed to the sale.

At the campsite nearby, I found Mira the superhero rabbit!

Mira: Hey! You're from this town, aren't you? You must be Jeff! Nice to meet ya! I'm Mira!

I like Mira, but I wasn’t sure if I wanted her to move in or not. So I thought about it, and I searched this blog to see if/when I had her as a camper before. It turns out, she camped here in 2014, and I wanted to add her then, but I couldn’t (because my town was full at the time). So that convinced me to invite her in now. 🙂

When I put some bells into my savings account, my balance reached 127 million bells.

Your current balance is 127,000,000 bells.

Yesterday, I found Mira’s house plot just south of my house. This is approximately where Cherry lived (and Big Top before her).

Today, Cube asked me to visit his house. So I led the way there…

Cube follows me as I run to his house.
I made him run there. 😆

I hung out in his house for a while, and he offered to sell me his snowmobile…so I bought it for 2,150 bells. He also gave me a kiddie chair that I found while snooping through his mush dresser.

I got a kiddie chair!

And once Mira finally woke up, I went in her house to say hello. Welcome to Forest, Mira! 🙂 It’s good to have you here! Better late than never!

Mira: Hey, hey! Remember me?

According to Luna, my recent dream visitors have included Daniel from Danville, Paula from Bilbao, and Sober from Heights. Thanks for stopping by!
