Now that I’ve beaten the game, I can go back and do some fun stuff that I’ve missed out on. Some of the things I still want to do include:
- Find all (or most) of the goddess cubes and get the treasures they unlock.
- Win the game on Fun Fun Island.
- Do the pumpkin soup delivery I still need to do.
- Earn more gratitude crystals and turn Batreaux into a human.
- Check out the bug island the one guy was making.
- Get the best shield from the Thunder Dragon (if it’s not insanely difficult).
- Complete any other side-quests.
- Buy out the inventory on the floating ship shop in Skyloft.
- Explore and just have fun!
Tonight, I wanted to primarily look for goddess cubes I missed. I started out in the desert. Dowsing led me to Pirate’s Stronghold first for one, and then to Skipper’s Retreat, where I found another.
I also went skydiving to reach a treasure chest which held a silver rupee (worth 100 rupees). Dowsing indicated there were no other goddess cubes in the desert. But I still explored and did some treasure hunting and bug catching for a while anyway. When I was done, I went back up to Skyloft.
I went to the floating ship shop, and the guy only had two items left: A piece of heart for 1,600 rupees and a bug medal for 1,000 rupees. I bought the bug medal; it lets you see the location of insects on the map. I didn’t have enough money for the heart piece also, but I’ll get that soon.
While in Skyloft, I saw that one of the two treasure chests unlocked by the goddess cubes was there, on an island high above Skyloft. I had to use my clawshots to reach it. I had actually been wondering if it was possible to reach that island before, and now I know it is. Nice view from up there.
I then went to Faron Woods. Dowsing led me to Lake Floria, where I found one goddess cube…
…and then to Skyview Temple, where I found another. Unfortunately, you can’t dowse inside the dungeons, so I had to search for it the hard way…by going in every room and looking around. Once I did find it, I went back outside and saved my game. There is still much to do, so stay tuned.
