Jeff's Tomodachi Life Blog

This blog describes my crazy adventures in Tomodachi Life, a bizarre simulation game for Nintendo 3DS. Check out my Tomodachi Life review, scan QR codes, see my list of kids, or buy Tomodachi Life at Amazon.

Entry 59: Space Disaster

I recently had two StreetPass hits, which brought two boats from Genosha Island. Unfortunately, no campers came to visit. But the boats took away Sophie and Faith.

Later, I received a letter from Sophie, telling me she's currently on StreetPass Relay Point Island.

I fed Shaq some macaroni and cheese, and he loved it! It's his super all-time favorite food!

In an effort to get Animal Crossing to come to Wii U, I gave Villager a Wii U system. I hope he gets the message.

As of March 16th, pawn shop uniforms are now available as a SpotPass item. For just $40, you can look like George Sr. here.

Wow, that outfit is ugly.

Also on the 16th, Squishy told me that she and Mr. Bean are planning on having a second baby!

By request, I have created QR codes for the children that have been born on the island recently: Blake, Gavin, Hailey, Madeline, Madison, and Ryder. They're all available on the QR Codes page, but here's the Madison code for your convenience. No offense to the others, but I think she's the cutest of the bunch. And I'm not just saying that because I'm afraid of being force choked by her father, Darth Vader.

Charlie asked me what apartment Snoopy lives in! You'd think he would know a thing like that. But maybe he's just used to seeing him in a doghouse.

On the news, I heard about a disaster in space! Astronaut Tobias was feeling ill after eating a mushroom that was supposed to be used in an experiment. Fellow bald astronaut George Sr., who happens to be Tobias' father-in-law, was disappointed but not surprised. "Tobias has the common sense of a horse's butt," he said.

And at the zoo, a giraffe named Blake was letting Miis slide down his neck. Here, Lindsay was enjoying the ride, while Gaston could be spotted looking quite gleeful as he awaited his turn.

And today, Squishy gave birth to her second child: It's a boy named Adam! Congrats to Squishy and Mr. Bean!

Adam has been added to my list of the kids of Wolf Bobs Island.

Thanks for stopping by, and I'll see you next time!

Why is Adam wearing makeup?

Jeff (mod) · Aug 8, 2017

@Wowza: Those are just his eyes.

In the Compatibility Tester, what is the romance rating, of, for instance, TZ and Weird Al? Or the friendship rating of Shaq and Zoidberg? I'm asking this because they have oppositional food reactions to the same food.

Jeff (mod) · July 23, 2017

@Waffle Island [Tomodachi Life]: Unfortunately, I can only use the compatibility tester on Miis that have their full birthdates entered. And I don't know TZ or Zoidberg's full birthdates, and most fictional characters don't have specific birthdates.

Waffle Island [Tomodachi Life] · July 24, 2017

@Jeff,
Thanks. Usually, I just set random birthdays to Miis that I don't know the birthdays of. Maybe that would work.

Adam the ugly

My circle pad has been acting a bit weird on my older DS (the purple one I play Tomodachi life, Startown and Rosedawn on). Like if I'm moving my character around in acnl, sometimes when I stop moving the circle pad she keeps moving anyway, but only like a few steps. It feels kinda weird but it isn't a major problem. Maybe I just need to recollaborate it.

Jeff (mod) · Mar 24, 2015

@Diana: I've been using it as-is. I have bought some circle pad covers though, and I intend to superglue one on at some point.

Diana · Mar 24, 2015

Didn't you say your circle pad was breaking too? What did you do about that?

Jeff (mod) · Mar 23, 2015

@Diana: Of course a new system is expensive, and one could easily argue that a 2-3 year old system shouldn't need to be replaced so soon. I hope that Nintendo works on improving their system quality in the future, because the 3DS isn't as reliable as most of their past hardware.

Jeff (mod) · Mar 23, 2015

@Jake: That's totally up to you. If you choose to try super glue, be very careful with it. Make sure no excess glue goes into the cracks around the edges of the circle pad, only on the nub where the circle pad goes. It could be risky, but if your only other option is to buy a new system, it might be worth it.

@Jake, I think you should look here:techforums.nintendo.com/message/141320

Diana · Mar 23, 2015

You should probably just get a new one. It's not usually worth it to take the cheap way with things like that.

Notes: Nintendo has graciously provided me with an advance copy of Tomodachi Life. Thanks, Nintendo! All Miis shown were made by me or my friends and are not in the game by default.
