Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog

Hello, and welcome to my Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog! I'm Jeff and here you can follow along with my adventures in the game. Unlike other Animal Crossing games, Happy Home Designer does not run in real-time. So each blog entry will usually cover multiple "game days." If you'd like, you can start from the beginning or just jump right in! Or read my review.

Day 59

I recently got Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival for Wii U (see my first impressions of the game), and it came with two Amiibo figures (Digby and Isabelle) as well as three Amiibo cards (Rosie, Stitches, and Goldie). I decided to use my new Stitches card in Happy Home Designer to call up the stuffed bear. He told me that he wanted his house to be a colorful toy box.

The toy box theme made me think of Santa's workshop, so I gave him a wintery home up north. The kiddie furniture is unlocked for his home, so I also used kiddie parts for the exterior of his house. There wasn't a kiddie fence though, so I used a sweets fence.

I used several kiddie rugs, a decorated tree, and a bunch of newly-unlocked orange pansies. I also gave him an elephant slide to have some outdoor fun. I wanted to add a jungle gym, but that hasn't been unlocked yet.

Indoors, I used the full kiddie set. To give him some toys, I put in a jack-in-the-box and a couple of stuffed bears. Even a teddy bear needs some teddy bears of his own!

When I was all done, Stitches taught me the showmanship emotion. I guess showbearship isn't a thing. Yet. The project code to visit Stitches' toy box home is 0000-7735-092.

BONUS: When I first called Stitches, he thought I was his mom! I bet he was embarrassed when he realized who I was!

Day 60

I decided to get my next client from out on Main Street. Genji told me he wanted a scary home for telling ghost stories! I've been wanting to unlock some Halloween-themed furniture, so this is my chance. Too bad it's a few weeks late for Halloween, but I'll take it while I can get it.

I chose a setting where he's up in the woods. And of course, the season had to be autumn for Halloween! I gave him a mansion, because all good haunted houses seem to be mansions. I also added a tribal mask, some bare (dead) trees, and some black cosmos, all of which were newly unlocked for this project. I used my own black and orange brick path to lead to the house, and there's a creepy skeleton peeking around one of the dead trees. The creepy gravestones would have been perfect here, but sadly, not all of the creepy furniture has been unlocked.

Indoors, I used much of the rococo furniture, customized in gothic black. I put some scary masks up on the wall and I added in a few of the creepy items. I also used my jack-o-lantern face pattern for the window curtains and I used wilderness sounds as the sound scenery. That might not sound like a good match for a haunted house, but it basically just sounds like a howling wind, which creates a spooky atmosphere.

When I was done, Genji taught me the Shrunk Funk Shuffle. Wait, why is he the one teaching me that? I uploaded Genji's haunted house to the Happy Home Network. Visit it (if you dare) by entering project code 0197-7731-982.

That was one of my favorite themes so far! Definitely a fun project. I might like to return and remodel this house in the future, after I've unlocked the rest of the creepy items.

Back at the office, I visited Sam's department store (0800-7774-905) called "3 Yummy Cafes." And indeed, the treats looked delicious! You can't go wrong with free samples!

Thanks for reading! Have a great day and I'll be back with more next time!
