Nintendo has provided me with an advance copy of Disney Magical World, which is now available for Nintendo 3DS. It has some gameplay similarities to Animal Crossing, while also featuring over 60 Disney characters. I'll be writing about the game and providing regular updates as I progress through the game. Please share this blog with other Disney fans or anyone else who may be interested. Want to start from the beginning?
Day 15: Two Bosses Down
I started out by going to Aladdin's world in search of Jafar's lamp. I went on an action quest that ended with the final boss of Aladdin's area, Coalem. He is able to shoot his hands at you, among many other types of attacks.
"You're fired."
He took a lot of hits to beat, but I did defeat him. Afterwards, Genie popped up with an unusual request.
I'd rather not.
Actually, he came to help out. He made sure nobody would be able to free Jafar from that lamp. I then got a sticker for beating the boss ghost in Aladdin's world.
I returned to the castle, and the king and chancellor had about seven new greetings to teach me (probably from all the new cards I acquired by trading in my duplicates yesterday). Some of them seem a bit odd though, and not royal at all...
Shouldn't Tarzan be teaching me this one?
I then traded in my duplicate cards from today, and to my surprise, I got a sticker for trading for a super rare card! I don't even know which card I got was super rare, but I'll take it! This was my 55th sticker.
Next, I went to Cinderella's world. I couldn't attend the Moonbeam Ball because I still didn't have the full outfit, but there was an action quest I could go on. This stage had four separate boss fights, and two fishing ponds. I managed to obtain three amethyst bubbles from the fish there. After completing the quest, I went to Donald Duck at the fishing pond. He had been asking me for three amethyst bubbles, and when I gave them to him, he gave me the recipe for the well-made rod. So I took it to the workshop and Chip and Dale upgraded my fishing rod.
After making some more new food at the cafe, I got my 56th sticker for making 50 different dishes.
I saw Alice and she asked me for a tea party table, but I needed a dancing cedar twig to make it. It can be found in Wonderland levels, so I decided to head there for another quest.
Your tea is about to run away from you.
The March Hare's teapot was broken and possessed by a ghost. It started to run away, and I went after it into the action stage. At the end of the level, I caught up with the teapot. However, it had grown to super size; it was the boss of Alice's world! It had smaller teapots circling around it, protecting it. And it would occasionally shoot out drops of hot tea at me, so I had to keep moving. Even though the action stages in the game are getting a bit monotonous and tedious, I enjoy the boss fights. It's nice to see some variety from the standard enemies that keep appearing throughout each world. Beating this boss earned me my 57th sticker.
I was also fortunate enough to find the dancing cedar twig in that stage, so I went to the workshop to make a tea party table for Alice. I gave it to her, and she gave me a photo ticket, which allowed me to take a picture with her! It also earned me sticker #58.
Why am I so short? Am I an Animal Crossing character?
After that, I decided to replay one of the early Cinderella action stages to look for an item I needed for my Moonbeam Ball shoes. But first, I stopped up at the wizard's tower to buy some new magic wands--including one for the Cinderella levels that has a power rating of 1000. This made the action stage much easier and quicker, and I recovered the piece I needed for my shoes! So I made the shoes and my crown and I'm all dressed up the Moonbeam Ball! I think I'll head there next time.
I'm all ready to play Theatrhythm...I mean dance!
Just one other note: Donald Duck was at the fishing pond again, offering another fishing rod upgrade. But this time, I need three garnet bubbles...and I don't have any of those so far. Perhaps they'll be in one of the upcoming action stages.
