Animal Crossing: City Folk Bunny Day Guide

What is Bunny Day?

Bunny Day is a holiday event in Animal Crossing: City Folk that works like an Easter egg hunt. Many bunny eggs will be buried all over town. Use your shovel to dig them up, and then open the eggs from your inventory screen. Most of them will just contain candy, but 12 bunny eggs will have bunny foils inside. Bunny foils are prize tickets that you can give to the Easter bunny (Zipper T. Bunny), who can be found outside of town hall. In exchange, he will provide you with exclusive egg furniture. Having Trouble Finding All the Eggs?

Because the bunny eggs are buried randomly around town, some will inevitably end up in hard-to-spot places, behind a tree or building for example. Fortunately, there is an easy way to re-scramble (oops, poor choice of words) their locations. Simply save and quit your game, and start again. Any eggs that were still buried will be randomly distributed, and most of them will likely be in a better spot. If necessary, you can do this multiple times until you find all twelve bunny foils.

What About the Candy?

The candy doesn't really have a purpose during Bunny Day, other than to make the festival seem more like Easter. You can eat the candy, sell it, or save it for Halloween or Festivale instead.

Who is Zipper T. Bunny?

Zipper T. Bunny will make comments indicating that Zipper is just a bunny suit. And in fact, a literal zipper can be seen on the back of the costume.

Zipper: Hey... Would you mind not looking at my back? Kinda spoils the magic, y'know?

But who is inside? Many people speculate that it could be Phyllis because of her similar demeanor (and hating her job like Zipper seems to hate being in the suit). However, Phyllis can still be seen inside of town hall at night, even as Zipper stands outside. Other theories exist, but Nintendo provides no official answers.

When Is Bunny Day?

The exact date of Bunny Day will vary from year to year, but it will always be on Easter Sunday. The event lasts the entire day (from 6 a.m. Sunday until 6 a.m. Monday). This chart shows the dates for Bunny Day from 2020-2028:

Egg Furniture

Aside from candy, there are a total of 12 items you can collect on Bunny Day: Ten regular egg furniture items, a carpet, and a wallpaper. Each player will have his/her own set of bunny eggs, so everyone has a chance to complete their own set. Here is a list of all the furniture you can obtain, along with the selling price for each. If you sell it all, you'll score a total of 107,776 bells.

Note: The egg TV is not available from Zipper in City Folk. Instead, it was released as DLC in March 2012, and you do not need it to get credit for a complete set.

Are There Duplicates?

No. Each player will have his/her own separate set of bunny eggs, with enough bunny foils for a complete set. You will only get duplicates if you play as more than one character.

Good luck and Happy Easter!
